Up for sale here is a project I tried to take on for my son. I got this 3000GT Not running, Upon investigating, I found the previous owner had the timing belt replaced during a service and the mechanic didn't tighten the crank bolt enough and it fell out, this allowed the pulley to drift out a hair and the relucter ring hit the crank sensor and died. After I replaced the sensor and put a new bolt in the crank pulley. the car fired right up but seem to have a miss. I found the 3/6 coil pack was not firing. I drove the care up and down the road and just wanted to confirm that the car was drivable. And it drove great with exception of the miss. I happened to have a Stealth at the same time and swapped all the coils, ignition modules, wires, and the Stealth continued to run fine, so that told me all the parts were good. With the help of a friend who works at Mitsubishi, he believes there might be an open circuit between the ECM and the Ignition module causing 3/6 to not work. NO RESERVE Auction,  I have set the price starting at what I was quoted from the scrap yard. I know I  could probably fix it if I spent enough time on it but I don't have a lot of time. So I am content just letting it go to someone who has the time to play with it.  Now the kid I got the car from, his parents own a buy here pay here car lot and they got this car and sent it into the shop and went over this thing with shocks and brakes and  even put ground  effects kit on it with big wheel and tires (which I put on the Stealth) It also has a hood bra and car looked sharp.  But as it has sat in my driveway over the last couple years, everything they added and then painted to match the car is now loosing it clear coat. It looks like you could just sand the clear down and hit it again and get it back to decent driver status, Now the rear fiberglass bumper was damaged at the Auction when the kids parents decided to just sell it off at auction and had to be pushed through the line, but the fiberglass doesn't offer a lot of strength for pushing, So the rear bumper needs some fixin. So just to recap.  Car could use some freshening up on the paint side and clear coat flaking off on a lot of the added ground effects. Engine is partially disassembled to replace crank sensor and just needs timing cover put back on and button up. I  bought new plugs and gaskets to change them but  want to wait till the 3/6 coil issue was resolved . the interior is still in decent shape and has two tone black and tan, console lid has a cracked area and a couple minor spots on the bottom of the door panel by the speaker. But overall still very nice.  Car also has a 10 disc Sony CD changer mounted behind the back seat. but the cars radion was swapped out for the Radio in the Stealth. so the factory cassette deck is just sitting in the dash and not hooked up,

PLEASE NOTE, the car has not been started in over a year, battery is stone dead and will like need replacing.  First two things that will likely need done if your plan is to get this car back on the road is New Battery, change the Spark Plugs and then fix the 3/6 coil issue. I know this car has not been driven daily in almost 3 years but it has always been park on blacktop and not in some tall grass off to the side (that's why the wife wants it gone, she sees it every morning when she walks out the door)

I will try to take some additional photos of the clearcoat issue,  it was getting late and I was loosing sunlight so its hard to see. but you can see how straight and rust free it is.

So here you go, NO RESERVE, ANY BID is a winner!!!     Feel free to call me to discuss anything you want to know.

Happy Bidding!!  Chuck 215-692-9536

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution recalled over clutch woes

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

Mitsubishi will be recalling over 10,000 Lancer Evolutions built between December 12, 2007 and March 5, 2013, covering model years 2008 to 2013. The recall only affects cars with manual transmissions, though, so if you opted for a Lancer Evo with a quick-shifting SST, this recall doesn't apply to you.
If you're one of the 10,474 people that has a Lancer Evo X GSR, which is the only way into a manual-trans Evo X, you need to plan a trip to your local dealer. The recall relates to a failure in the clutch master cylinder, making shifting in and out of gear difficult. Consequently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that this could increase the odds of crashing.
Mitsu will notify owners of the affected cars, and these Evo models will be repaired, free of charge, at dealerships. The recall is slated to begin around November 11. Scroll down for the full bulletin from the NHTSA.

Mitsubishi bringing Emirai 3 to Tokyo?

Fri, Oct 23 2015

Inquiring minds really want to know if the W-shaped steering wheel will return on Mitsubishi's newest iteration of the Emirai electric concept vehicle. The Japanese automaker is slated to show off the third variant of this interesting concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of the month, according to Technologic Vehicles. Beyond the facts that the car is a two-seater and runs on electric power, we don't have many details to share just yet. One specific item we do know, though, is that concept will once again offer close monitoring of the driver's physical state. In this case, the car is said to use cloud-based data to gauge the driver's physical condition, so the concept goes well beyond the types of sensors we see in other vehicles that offer features like collision avoidance and lane maintenance. The car is also missing doors, which doesn't necessary help the driver's physical state but is still pretty cool-looking. The model could see the light of day – and limited production – by the end of the decade. Two years ago, Mitsubishi brought its Emirai 2 concept car to Tokyo. That super-futuristic vehicle included a biometrics feature that adjusted the driver's seat based on the user's facial temperature and heart rate. It also had a W-shaped steering wheel straight out of a Superfriends cartoon. Mitsubishi was an early entrant in the electric-vehicle sector with its i-MiEV, though that model has been selling in the single-digit figures in recent months. Now that we have a few year's worth of hindsight, the i's jellybean shape looks pretty pedestrian compared to the Emirai. News Source: Technologic Vehicles Green Tokyo Motor Show Mitsubishi Electric

The worst rally driver you've ever seen

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Fast cars and excellent driving skills might be the easy answers when asking how to succeed in rally racing, but after watching this video, a good teammate is obviously an important aspect of this sport, too. During the 2013 Rally of Coimbatore in India, driver Samir Thapar and his co-driver, Vivek Ponnusamy, didn't seem to be on the same page as the two attempted to navigate the course in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
We'd probably hear drastically different stories if we talked to Thapar and Ponnusamy about this particular event, but you know things are bad when "stay on road" and "turn the wheel" are commands given by the co-driver (and yes, that's a man running for his life in the screen shot shown above). As it turned out, though, it seems like the Ponnusamy was justified in his concerns to take care of the racecar. Race results show that despite winning three of the seven stages, this team ultimately ended the race with a DNF.
Scroll down to watch the video, and even though it's been edited down from almost 40 minutes to less than four, we get the idea that it wasn't a pleasant experience for driver or co-driver.
