SOLID! Great driver! According to the gurus at the '3S enthusiast club' , this should be running +/- 500hp , which is the most you can get with stock ECU and injectors running 14-16 lbs of boost.
Simply accomplished with 13g (up from 9g ) turbos. K&N air filter, free flow exhaust, hard wired upgraded Denso fuel pump and a Blitz boost controller. Handling has been improved with quality lower springs and 18 in rims designed specifically for this car. Currently running Pirelli P Zero all season which are remarkably grippy. Upgraded drilled/slotted Powerslot discs with upgraded street/track pads.
Aftermarket race seats, 3 inch 4 point belts keep you in place. Extra gauges keep you informed and avoid abusing the drive train. Larger Tach with shift lights and rev limiter, true boost gauge, and live fuel mixture display gauge.
Miles? Sounds like a lot , however, no accidents, no rust, the unibody is solid. No weaknesses. I have never raced the car (no track , autocross, hillclimbs,or dragstrip). I have other cars for that. Used primarily for visiting family requiring long trips. Easily do 1000 miles and be wanting for more. 400 mile range getting 22 mpg at 80mph average. Never hesitate to pass! The drivetrain is solid. newer dealer installed transmission, clutch, transfer case, drive shaft, and recent rebuilt heads, newer front turbo and recent rebuilt rear turbo. No oil leaks or smoke. Yeah, it's twenty years old but it is a driver and properly maintained. Always quality synthetic oil.
Cosmetics are not a priority for me. It's a 20 footer. Lots of touch up dabs and several small dents, nothing serious! Less is more as I removed the aftermarket aluminum rear dual wing that came on the car.
Most of these cars were upgraded poorly and abused. This one is for enjoying on the street. With all the branding blocked out people always wonder what kind of car it is. The bright Caracas red
leads a lot of people to think expensive exotic . I briefly badged the car like a Ferrari, not missing a detail. Most of the pics are from then. Now removed, all the bits and pieces are available.
No mistake buying this one.........

2023 Mitsubishi Triton detailed with new frame, new diesel engine
Mon, Jul 10 2023The new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton is around the corner, and the Japanese company has outlined some of the many changes it's making to the truck. The more rugged-looking exterior design hides a new ladder frame, and the pickup will be powered by a new turbodiesel engine. Sold as the L200 in some parts of the world, the Triton needs to be a lot of things to a lot of different people; it can be seen towing cattle in Australia, performing rescue operations in the Alps and being used as a daily driver in rural Chile. Catering to these different audiences isn't easy, but Mitsubishi has largely retained the tried-and-true formula that has made the current-generation truck relatively popular. Mitsubishi kept the outgoing truck's tough body-on-frame construction, though it designed a new frame rather than making updates to the old one. It developed a new double-wishbone front suspension system but kept the rear leaf springs as a compromise between ruggedness and on-road comfort. And power for the next-generation Triton will come from a new turbodiesel engine designed to deliver "a higher output." 2023 Mitsubishi Triton View 3 Photos We'll need to be patient to find out what effect these changes will have on the Triton's ride quality, off-road capacity and towing figures, and technical specifications haven't been released yet. For context, the current-generation Triton's base engine on the Australian market is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder rated at 178 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can choose between rear- and four-wheel drive and between a manual and an automatic transmission. Single-cab, club-cab and double-cab models are part of the range in Australia. The 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will make its global debut in Thailand on July 26 at 10 a.m. local time, which is 11:00 p.m. on July 25 in New York and 8:00 p.m. on the same day in California. The truck will be sold in numerous global markets, but the United States isn't one of them. Elsewhere, the Triton will compete in the same hotly-contested segment as the new Ford Ranger and the perennially popular Toyota Hilux. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 2006 Mitsubishi Raider DuroCross 4WD
Sun, Apr 21 2024Chrysler began selling Mitsubishi Triton pickups with Dodge D-50 and Plymouth Arrow badging in the 1979 model year, followed by the Mitsubishi Pajero aka Montero with Dodge Raider badges for 1987 through 1989. That Raider name sounded so good that Mitsubishi Motors decided to revive it when they began selling a new pickup based on the Dodge Dakota in the United States. Today's Junkyard Gem is a first-year Mitsubishi Raider, found in a Denver car graveyard recently. The Raider was mechanically identical to its same-year Dakota counterparts and it was built alongside the Dakota at Warren Truck Assembly, but it had its own body and interior designs. The Raider was built for the 2006 through 2009 model years, after which it was discontinued due to poor sales (just under 22,000 total). It wasn't as humiliating for Mitsubishi as the Ascender and I-Series (both thinly disguised Chevrolet models) were for once-proud Isuzu, but that isn't saying much. There's no need for us to bring up the puzzling Suzuki Equator here, is there? This one is a DuroCross, which came with lower suspension, black plastic wheel flares and a front bumper that looked skid-plate-like. It also has the most powerful engine available in the '06 Raider: a 4.7-liter V8 rated at 230 horsepower. The 4.7 is a member of the Chrysler PowerTech engine family, which has an ancestry stretching all the way back to the American Motors Corporation. AMC began development of new overhead-cam V6 and V8 engines just before Chrysler purchased the company in 1987, and the 4.7-liter V8 made its debut in the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 2009 Raider was the last new Mitsubishi pickup sold in the United States, though Mexican truck shoppers can still enjoy mas poder de aventura by buying a new Mitsubishi Triton with L200 badges. Who knows, if it's possible to find Mexican-market Peugeot 407s, Dacia Logans, Dacia Dusters and Opel Corsas in Colorado junkyards, I may yet find a discarded Mitsubishi L200. It was much more intimidating than an ordinary Dakota.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S shows what a facelift can do [w/video]
Fri, 03 Oct 2014Sometimes you need a second chance to get things right. Technologically, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a pretty cool vehicle, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and additional electric motors providing more thrust. However, the CUV never really looked the part for all of its innovation. The Mitsubishi designers are taking another crack with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, and the vehicle shows what a massive improvement some tweaks can make.
The most obvious of these changes is the completely different front end with a more vertical design. The headlights are reshaped with LED running lights outlining them, and the new airdam that puts a massive X right on the front grille in black and chrome with some more LEDs down below. The designers don't stop there and have a major revision to the rear with taillights running all the way across. Inside, there's black wood grain trim and leather seats.
The update takes the CUV from boring to somewhat exciting, and the even better news is that some of these updates might make it to a rumored refresh in 2016 that could even come here. Scroll down to watch Mitsubishi's teaser video for the Concept-S with more views of it and the company's full press release.
