I am the only owner and it has never been in any accidents. The windshield was recently replaced. The last service was on December 6, 2012 when I had vacuum tubes replaced. In October 2012, I had the AC Condenser, Valve Cover Gasket, Belt Tensioner and Battery replaced. The four tires don't have too many miles on them and there is good tread remaining. I do not know of any current service issues. Here is information on the wear on the car: There is some bug damage to the black racing stripes. There are a few small dings and scratches as would be expected in a car with this type of mileage. The Driver's rear bumper has a crease and small dent immediately above the bumper. As this is the only significant damage, I have included a photo with the listing."

You are bidding on the greatest car I have ever owned.  This is a 2005 MINI Cooper S with the John Cooper Works Tuning Kit that I special ordered from Orlando MINI.  It is loaded with extras and accessories that were all added at the dealership and are official MINI products.  No aftermarket products have been installed.  The car is full of personality, the dark grey and black with red and grey interior custom leather convey the power of the vehicle while the racing stripes, driving lamps and JCW badges show the rich racing history of the MINI.  I'm pretty partial to the interior of this MINI, it's rugged yet refined and the focus is on that large, center mounted speedometer.

It is dark silver with a black roof & mirror caps.  It includes the following:
  • 6-Speed Manual Transmission
  • John Cooper Works MINI Cooper S Tuning Kit (original price $5,360.00)
  • Premium Package (Multifuction Steering Wheel w/ Cruise, Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Automatic AC, On-Board Computer)
  • Anthracite Trim
  • Harman-Kardon Sound System
  • 16" Alloy Wheels with Run-Flat Tires (4 qty Pirelli Cinturatio P1195/55 R16)
  • CUSTOM Red & Grey Leather (much nicer than the factory leather!)
  • iPod Connector
  • Driving Lamps
  • Black Stripes
  • Simonized
  • JCW Badges and Door Sills
  • Glovebox Organizer
  • Tinted Windows
  • Floor mats
I also have both original keys, a complete set of manuals and the autographed JCW Certificate of Authenticity (suitable for framing!).  I also have all the service and maintenance receipts for your records.  Please note that one of the keys probably needs to have a battery replaced, it is not controlling the remote lock/unlock.

I am the only owner and have kept it very well maintained having it serviced only at the original dealer, Schlenkers (a highly reviewed local mechanic, for tires & brakes only) and British Performance in Melbourne, FL (a mechanic who specializes in MINIs).  I have only used synthetic oil and premium gasoline for the life of the vehicle.  I have always stored the car in the garage.  It has been recently detailed (washed, waxed, vacuumed, shampooed, conditioned) and looks excellent.

I have enjoyed owning this car and it has never left me stranded or had any major service issues.  Mechanics often comment on how well it has been cared for over the years.  I'm sad to sell it, but we are currently growing our family and it's time for a larger vehicle so we can transport car seats, strollers, bags, etc.  I hope it finds a good home and you enjoy it as much as I have.

I'm requesting a $500 Paypal deposit at the close of the auction (within 48 hours) and full payment via cleared funds within 7 days.  I will deliver the car within 60 miles of Rockledge, FL or you are welcome to come pick it up.  I am also happy to ship the car to you, but all shipping expenses will be your responsibility.  If you are in the area and would like to look at the car, please contact me to schedule a time.  Thanks for looking and my auction and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

2015 Mini Cooper snapped uncovered on the road

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

The third generation of reborn Mini is nearly upon us. Just look at the trail of breadcrumbs the Anglo-Saxon automaker has been leaving us.
First we saw the upcoming new Mini Cooper, spied from above at a photo shoot, which Mini was quick to point out was not its best angle. Then BMW's retro-hatch division showcased the Mini Vision concept, and followed up just yesterday with details of the new engines and chassis that will underpin the latest model. And now we have the clearest batch of spy shots we've seen yet.
Not only were these shots taken from a better angle, but also show the new Mini in the more tempting Cooper S trim - complete with hood scoop, split-spoke alloys, roof spoiler and twin central exhaust tips.

The 2017 Porsche 911 RSR goes mid-engine, purists be damned

Wed, Nov 16 2016

Porsche unveiled its World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Championship competitor with the 2017 911 RSR. And this 911 is different from the rest, as the 4.0-liter flat-six engine powering this beast is in front of the rear axle, not behind it. That's right, this 24 Hours of Le Mans competitor ditches the iconic rear-engine layout. Porsche isn't talking specifics on how exactly things are arranged back there. The engine is new, now based on the 991 911's block instead of the previous Mezger motor that's been used for years. The transmission design is new as well – it would have to be to accommodate the new location relative to the engine. The racecar has been engineered to meet the LM-GTE class, where it will go up against other mid-engine cars like the Ford GT and Ferrari 488 GTE. Moving the engine to the middle has given Porsche the ability to fit the 911 RSR with massive bits of aero, like the humongous rear diffuser that looks like it would be more at home on a machine of war. The only thing that can compete with the diffuser for size is the top-mounted rear wing, which shares a similar design to the one found on the 919 Hybrid. Going back to the engine, the direct-injected boxer motor, depending on the size of the restrictor, generates as much as 510 horsepower and sends all of its fury to the rear wheels. The engine is paired to a six-speed sequential gearbox, which drivers can employ through paddles on the steering wheel. The new engine doesn't have a lot of weight to push around as the 911 RSR, as required by regulations, weighs 2,740 pounds. Speaking of weight, the engine layout isn't the only change for the 911 RSR. For 2017, the car ditches its steel body for one that's made out of carbon fiber. The body attaches to the chassis via quick-release fasteners, making the vehicle easier to service as exterior elements can be removed with minimal effort. The racecar also gets a radar-based collision system – aptly named the "Collision Avoid System" – which is meant to limit the 911 RSR's encounters with faster LMP prototypes. Only time will tell if the new layout and aerodynamic components help the 911 RSR beat its competition. But there will be plenty of opportunities to see the racecar in action as Porsche plans to run the 911 RSR in 19 races during the 2017 season, the first of which will take place at the IMSA opener on January 28th at Daytona, where the racecar will make its track day debut.

2021 Mini Countryman spied wearing a subtle change of clothes

Mon, Jul 22 2019

Mini isn’t taking its crossover lineup anywhere but forward these days, and a facelift for the tall Countryman appears to be next in line. We got details for the hot JCW version of the Countryman a couple of months back, but a mid-cycle refresh is on the docket for the regular version now. Spy photos of the refreshed Countryman show all the exterior changes will be coming to the front and rear portions of the car. Everything else about the long and wide Mini is staying the same, but we could see some interior improvements in the name of technology. As for whatÂ’s visible through the camouflage, the Countryman doesnÂ’t appear to be going through anything radical in the front or back. The grille looks like itÂ’s taking on the same shape as the current Countryman. However, a few minor changes to the lower front bumper are noticeable. Mini looks to be changing up the vents/intake design down there. We donÂ’t mind the carÂ’s current design, but this doesnÂ’t seem to be changing much anyway. The most obvious change out back is the carÂ’s taillight design. ItÂ’s a different pattern on the curvy red light element, but itÂ’s not a Union Jack flag. Perhaps Mini will ultimately tack the Union Jack on it, but this prototype doesnÂ’t wear the British pride on its hindquarters.  Perhaps the big takeaway here is more about the lack of changes Mini appears to have in store. WeÂ’ll be hoping the upgrade is heavy on tech and new features rather than actual design changes. The Countryman went through a radical (large) rebirth for the 2017 model year, but hasnÂ’t exactly lit the world on fire with sales since. Last year was the modelÂ’s best year since 2014, but itÂ’s still behind the modelÂ’s all-time best-selling years. WeÂ’ll expect this light refresh to hit us for the 2021 Countryman, so a reveal sometime next year is likely.
