I am the original owner of this 2009 Mini Cooper S convertible. I purchase the car for my wife as a second car and it has been garage kept since we purchased it new in November 2009.  The California Registration is paid for and good through November 2013.  The 4 Year/50,000 Mini warranty will expire November 20th 2013 or at 40,000 miles whichever occurs first.  The car has been driven less then 3,000 miles per year and is primarily a weekend car to go up and down PCH.  It has never been smoked in, eaten in or drank in.  The interior is spotless 10 out of 10 .....as if it was off the showroom floor. It shows no signs of wear at all.  The exterior is a 9 out of 10.  The rear driver wheel has a 1 inch curb rash noted in picture and the hood has a minor pits and scratches that are normal for a car that has been driven.  The car has been maintained by South Bay Mini and has received all of its scheduled services.  The clutch throwout bearing went bad at 13,000 miles and I had them replace the entire clutch since they had to disassemble it.  Mini covered all of the expenses with all new factory parts because a defective part caused the problem.  The brakes and tires are in good condition according to the Mini Dealer as of 600 miles ago.  It is not schedule for another service until November 2013 or 9,000 miles which ever occurs first.

The car has many options including Bluetooth Cell phone link, iPod/iPad/iPhone interface and cable, heater seats, cruise control, power windows and locks.

We had two complaints about the car. first, the road noise on the car was fairly excessive with the top up and second, the factory stereo system wasn't adequate when the top was down. I brought the car to our local stereo shop and spent $1,000 adding insulation and sound deadening material to the car which quoted the noise down by at least 50%.  Secondly, I had them install an Amplifier, new speakers and a small subwoofer.  All of the work was professionally done with top of the line equipment and materials. Everything is completely hidden and looks factory stock.

The Amplifier is an Alpine PDX- 5 - $599
The Front Speakers are Boston Acoustics SPZ60 - $1,195
The Sub Woofer is a Kicker 10" Solo Baric L7 - $329
Installation and fabrication - $1,500
Total - 3,623 + tax

The stereo is now just right...not too loud, crisp, clean and loud enough to enjoy when you have the top down.

I have the title in hand and am looking for an easy buyer for a quick and smooth transaction. Kelly Blue Book on this car in Good to Very Good (Not Excellent) condition is $21,400, my reserve price is considerably lower.

Good luck bidding.

Mini discounts 2019 Oxford Edition for U.S. military members, recent retirees

Tue, May 14 2019

Mini introduced the 2019 Mini Oxford Edition last fall to offer college students or recent grads a cheap, well-equipped new car. Now it's extending the same offer to active duty military members and recent retirees. Specifically, you'll have to be an active duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces, or have retired/been honorably discharged within a 12-month period of verification of eligibility. This has no effect on the student offer for full- or part-time students of any two- or four-year accredited college/university. That deal also applies to those who have graduated in the last 12 months, along with students currently enrolled in any kind of post-grad program. The Mini Oxford Edition continues to be the same car equipped with the same options as before. This means the two-door starts at $20,600, including the $850 destination charge, and the four-door is priced at $21,600. Standard equipment not included in the base "Classic" trim includes a 6.5-inch infotainment system, parking sensors, panoramic moonroof, heated seats, upgraded 17-inch wheels and an automatic transmission (a manual can also be optioned). Additionally, there are more exterior colors to choose from than on the Classic. In total, Mini says you're getting $6,900 worth of optional equipment for no extra cost here. Mini says the Oxford Edition is available in dealers now. It's great to see Mini make this program available for more people, because it's a superb discount to take advantage of if you're part of these groups and had Mini on your shopping list.

World record practice jump doesn't go as planned for Chicherit

Wed, Mar 19 2014

French rally driver Guerlain Chicherit is a very lucky man. He had hoped to beat Tanner Foust's 332-feet car jump record (which nearly went awry itself) with a 360-foot leap in a specially built Mini to score a new Guinness World Record at the French ski resort of Tignes. However, things didn't go to plan, and Chicherit suffered a massive crash during the attempt. According to The Local, emergency services were on the scene immediately, and he was transported to the hospital by helicopter, but Chicherit is in better condition than anyone could have expected. He has been on Facebook since the crash and appears to be in great spirits. He wrote: "I have to stay to the hospital for the night just for safety, I'm all ok !!!" The jump was originally scheduled for Sunday, March 16, but heavy fog delayed it until today. Warning: The crash is quite graphic, but remember Chicherit wasn't seriously injured. Mini Superleggera Vision Concept keeps us hangin' on [w/video]

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

Mini's Superleggera Vision Concept may not be a Paris Motor Show debut, but this is the first time we've seen this stunning all-electric roadster in the metal, having been first shown on the tony shores of Lake Como at Villa D'Este in May. While it's small in stature, it's still big on both presence and detail, from its overall stubby yet sleek proportions to its Union Jack taillamps, Jaguar-esque rear fin and elegant rearview mirrors.
We still don't know much more about what powers this Touring Superleggera coachbuilt showcar, as any powertrain specifics are conspicuous by their absence, but we'd welcome both a pure electric version and something powered by the BMW/Mini turbocharged three-cylinder currently making the rounds in the new Mini Cooper.
Last we heard in September, any decisions on a production future for the Superleggera Vision have been tabled, with word being that a further six months of study is planned before Mini decides to greenlight or nix the project. We'd love to tell you that the fact that it's here in Paris is a great sign, but we wouldn't believe us, either.
