This is a Mini Cooper Type S John Cooper Works edition. Quite literally the most fun you will EVER have behind the wheel. My wife and I are "family planning" and my precious little Cooper has been deemed unfit for the world of strollers, diaper bags and car seats. It is with a heavy heart that I put her up for sale hoping only that she ends up with an owner that will appreciate the true majesty of this vehicle.

Make sure to checkout the carfax!

I haven't even had this car a full year yet (10 months) - it was a one owner car from the dealership, clear carfax and title, perfectly maintained. Since purchasing it I've changed the oil and the front break pads.

There are some very small blemishes in the paint on the hood of the car that I made sure to include in the images. It looks like it was driven through a small dust storm or something that chipped the paint. Again - please look at the pictures, the chips are hardly noticeable.

The JCW is a supercharged type S that gives the already peppy Mini Cooper a substantial amount of "get up and go". The interior is a complete re-imagination of the way a car should be laid out and is unbelievably intuitive. You feel like you're in a cockpit. The entire car is controlled from the center console which takes some getting used to but (once you have it) makes so much more sense. The car is a 6 speed manual transmission (the only way a car like this should come). It has been adult driven, cared for to a degree that is probably worthy of an OCD diagnosis, non-smoker, garage kept, etc. etc. AC blows ice cold. The interior looks almost brand new. This is a good little car. It has been well cared for and respected. I'm sorry to see it go.

Please feel free to ask my any questions if I have missed anything. The car is in Scottsdale Arizona and available to be seen / driven by anyone close or willing to make the trip.

Good luck bidding!

Mini reveals new John Cooper Works concept ahead of Detroit

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

BMW effectively hit the reset button when it unveiled the new Mini at the LA Auto Show last month, opening the door to a whole raft of new variants to follow - and this is the first.
Set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month is the new Mini John Cooper Works Concept, a show car that previews the next hot hatch from the Anglo-Saxon automaker. Mini isn't saying much about what makes it tick, focusing instead of the design that sets it apart from the standard version we've already seen.
This JCW concept features a lustrous grey paintjob with bright red accents, 18-inch alloys and an upgraded aero kit, all aimed at making the Mini look that much sportier. It's got bigger air intakes where the fog lights would be, LED headlamps, a black grille frame, side skirts, a rear bumper with diffuser insert and a roof-mounted spoiler.

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).

Mini finally lands its full blackflip

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

French stuntman Guerlain Chicherit hit the ski slopes of Tignes, France over the weekend - not to enjoy the fresh snow but to perform the first-ever unassisted backlip in a car, which was teased last month.
The unassisted part of the stunt comes from the fact that he Chicherit, in a special rally-prepped Mini Countryman, uses a regular, solid ramp rather than any specially modified ramps that have been used in the past to pull off this stunt. Unfortunately, after 18 months of practice, you'd think the video would be more entertaining by showing more closeups or better angles of the stunt.
Either way, you can check out Chicherit and his Countryman nail the back flip in the video posted below, and Mini has provided a press release and some high-res shots for the stunt as well.
