I designed this car online and took excellent care of it ever since it was delivered in 2005.  It has low mileage and most of the miles are highway miles as this car has been all over the place.  It is super clean and runs like a dream.  On Friday, May 31, I took it into Passport MINI of Alexandria to have it checked out for sale and our tech said that there were only 4 things that needed to be done besides the regular oil change.  He also said the car was in excellent condition!!

($1785)The items that were fixed:

the front brakes and rotors were replaced

the right front inner and outer tie rods were replaced

because the tie rods were replaced - the car was aligned

and finally - the oil pan gasket was replaced.  This car is now like new!

This car is amazingly fun and zippy.  It also has a supercharger, so there is no turbo-lag.  This version came out before the S was available with automatic transmission and there were no MINIs with turbos, yet.  The original jack and owner's manual are still here as well as the original  dealer sticker.  I added some things like the hidden jumper cables.  The battery is in the back, so I have actually been able to jump cars on the highway before.  The original battery did die last summer because the poor car was in the garage for too long, but it has a sparkly new one now and we've driven around as much as possible.  I have a AUX converter in the bottom of the console with a male male mini RCA, so anything with a headphone jack can be plugged in and played through the speakers.  It's pretty useful to listen to music or plug your phone in with a slight echo on the other person's end.  I also had a rear-facing convertible car seat behind the passenger seat up until last Thursday when we decided it was time to get a 4-door with more trunk space.  I LOOVE my MINI.  I was debating selling it, but I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like now.  I hope there is someone out there who will enjoy it at least as much as I have.  This car is wonderful and has no issues besides a tiny ping in the windshield that happened while coming up 395 to get to the dealership and a small indention where a nut fell from a tree in the fall of 2010 and caught me coming down a curvy road in WV.  I tried to take a picture of it, but it is so small, you can barely see it.  It is shown in the last photo.

I've included pictures of everything I could think of, but if you need more information or have questions, let me know.   Thank you for checking out this awesome car!  Have a great day :)

Mini John Cooper Works gets ready to rumble

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

Mini gave us our first taste of its next-generation John Cooper Works Hardtop in concept form at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. And in fact, we already know that the production version will make its debut at the 2015 Detroit show in January. Fitting, then, that this most recent round of spy shots shows a JCW that's pretty much ready to roll - peel back that yellow swirly paper, and you've pretty much got the final deal.
It's easy to make out the final design for the revised front and rear fascias, and we can clearly see a more robust brake package nestled behind those alloy wheels. Speaking of, we must admit, the wheels here look rather pedestrian for a JCW model, but they could just be prototype rollers and not indicative of the final rolling stock. We expect the flashy red decals of the concept to be offered on the production model, as well, though they could be optional kit.
As reported earlier, power is expected to come from a 230-horsepower turbo-four - a modest increase over the 208 hp from the outgoing Mini JCW. Expect that to route through a six-speed manual transmission, sending turbocharged oomph to the front wheels.

2019 Mini Cooper gets updated, becomes even more British

Tue, Jan 9 2018

For the 2019 model year, Mini is rolling out a slew of updates to its current two- and four-door hardtop models and the convertible. It's a very modest revision in most respects. From the front, the only real change is to the headlights. The LED running lights that encircle the main lighting element now illuminate in a full circle, and that full circle flashes amber to function as a turn signal. The sides are also virtually unchanged, but coming around to the back you'll find the most obvious change. No longer are the taillights simple rounded rectangles with circles inside. Now the lighting elements are fully LED and in the shape of the Union Jack, the British flag. It's executed well, but it's a little silly. What's next, a horn that plays "Rule, Britannia?" How about appending the initials "HMS" ahead of the Cooper name? We kid, but we do worry a little about Mini focusing too much on kitschy British references. View 14 Photos Other exterior updates include three new metallic colors called Emerald Gray, Starlight Blue, and Solaris Orange. They can be joined by the Piano Black package that swaps the chrome around the lights and grille for gloss black. The custom Mini Yours fender badges and lights that are made with 3D printing or laser engraving are also available. The interior is mostly unchanged. Bluetooth connectivity is now standard across the board, along with a 6.5-inch infotainment screen. There are new options, too. Both two- and four-door Mini hatches can be ordered with Malt Brown Chesterfield Leather. Like the exterior, the interior has a Piano Black trim option. It adds gloss black trim throughout, along with a panel on the passenger side with a Union Jack motif. That motif has transparent sections that light up in the same color as the driver-selectable interior lighting. An updated 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless phone charging are also options. Related Video:

Mini teases third-gen hatch to debut next week

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

All it takes is a small spark to set off a fire. Just look at what has happened since BMW brought back the Mini in the early 2000s. What started with a hatchback has since spawned more bodystyles than we care to count and almost as many imitators. The second generation followed in 2007, and now Mini is preparing to launch the third.
The new Mini is scheduled to debut a week from now on November 18 at the Oxford plant in England, just days before the LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show kick off and on the birthday of the original's designer Sir Alec Issigonis.
The third generation of the popular retro hatchback is expected to closely follow the lead set by the Mini Vision concept revealed a few months ago, but then we already knew that, having seen numerous undisguised photos of the new car in action. Still, the half-minute teaser video embedded below does a decent job of drumming up some enthusiasm, so if you're enamored of the Anglo-Saxon retromobile, head on down to check it out.
