2011 MINI Cooper S

I have for sale my 2011 MINI Cooper S.  I am the original owner of this vehicle and have loved it ever since the first day.  I am a factory MINI technician at a local MINI Dealer, and have over maintained this vehicle since day one.  MINI recommends an oil change on these vehicles every 12 to 15,000 miles depending on driving characteristics, and I have changed the oil every 4 to 5,000 Miles including an oil change at 1200 miles after engine break in.  I have done a lot of work and put a lot of my own labor and money into this vehicle.  It has been a hard decision to get rid of it, but i've decided I am looking to buy a truck to pull a trailer for my racing hobby, and its time to let it go.  The only record on this vehicle was a slight front end collision November of 2012 and I am not afraid to mention it because it was hardly an incident at all.  The individual in front of me was not paying attention and hit the car in front of them.  I was on the brakes, slowed significantly and impacted the Ford Fusion in front of me at approximately 10mph.  I had very little damage to my car and continued my travels to work after the report was finished up.  I reported it to insurance as some of the individual parts were too much for me to pay out of pocket at the time so that is why it is on the vehicle history.  I replaced one headlight, the front JCW bumper, the front radiator support, and the hood.

To this day I have never ragged this car out or taken it to the track.  I am very into making a vehicle my own and this is the reason I have put all of the performance parts on this car.  I simply drive it "spirited" as some people would put it, which is how the vehicles are designed to be driven, but at the end of the day it is very fast and will put a factory JCW or GP to shame!  NM Engineering reported 195.3 hp and 224.1 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels with a similar tune and bolt ons!  As a factory technician at a local MINI Dealer, I will say my car has been maintained more frequently than any other 2011 we've serviced.  I am very anal about keeping the engine internals clean and the oil changed frequently.  Sludge build up causes wear and tear and clogs the turbocharger supply line that results in failed parts so I've taken extra measures to ensure this car will run for a long long time.

With this MINI comes the remainder of the 3 year/36,000 mile maintenance warranty and the 4 yr/50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.  I purchased the vehicle at the end of Oct. 2011 so the maintenance warranty (brakes, oil changes, cabin filters, spark plugs) is cover until Oct. 2014 and bumper to bumper warranty is covered until Oct. 2015.

Here is a break down of most of the parts currently installed on the vehicle and the retail value:

Nm intake - 429.99
Nm strut tower brace - 319.99
Torque arm insert - 59.99
Ecu tune stage 2 by NM Engineering - 500.00
Samco boost hoses - 379.95
Forge blow off valve - 260.00
Forge front mount intercooler - 720
Hotchkis rear sway bar - 295.95
H&R lowering springs - 230
Brembo JCW brake kit - 2350 (employee discount)
VIS carbon fiber hood - 950 with professional clearcoat
JCW aero kit - 1550 painted (employee discount)
Custom high flow downpipe - 300
VDO Boost gauge - 59.99
Alta boost tap - 54.99

I also added a few other items like the red stitched JCW steering wheel and red stitched JCW shift knob with suede boot, as shown in the photos that i'll include.  A few other things I did was put a set of JCW 17" challenge wheels on it painted matte black, with 90% almost new Yokohama S drives.  Most of the chrome trims have been painted or wrapped black and the roof was originally white which was wrapped black.  The exhaust is custom from the downpipe back to the JCW muffler which sounds awesome.  Come see it for yourself!

I have valued my car at NADA clean retail value and 50% of the original cost of all add on parts!  My price is very fair for what the new owner will be receiving so please no low ball offers.  This car needs absolutely nothing!

Please feel free to message me with any questions at all I will be glad to give you anymore information I can!  If there is anything you do not want on the vehicle send me a message and if I have that OEM replacement, I will be glad to install it for you and discount the price accordingly.

Thanks so much!

Volvo leads and Mini fails in JD Power's Tech Experience Index

Wed, Aug 19 2020

New cars are basically rolling computers. Everything from the engine to the infotainment runs on a series of ones and zeros, and a lot of that technology requires input from the driver. So it's no surprise that JD Power has a study designed specifically to discern which bits of tech drivers love and which bits they loathe. "New technology continues to be a primary factor in the vehicle purchase decision," says JD Power's Kristin Kolodge, executive director of driver interaction & human machine interface research. "However, it’s critical for automakers to offer features that owners find intuitive and reliable. The user experience plays a major role in whether an owner will use the technology on a regular basis or abandon it and feel like they wasted their money." The J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Tech Experience Index (TXI) Study found that Volvo owners are happiest with the technology packed inside their vehicles, followed by BMW and Cadillac, all brands that JD Power classifies as premium. The highest-rated mainstream brand is Hyundai, followed by Subaru and Kia. As was the case with the organization's Initial Quality and APEAL studies, Tesla's numbers aren't officially included because they are the only automaker that has not granted JD Power approval to contact its owners in states that require it. Tesla's projected score of 593 would have put it in second place, right behind Volvo's score of 617. The lowest-ranked brand in the TXI Study is Mini, with Porsche right behind. Diving a little bit deeper, JD Power's findings suggest that the technologies new car buyers care most about are related to helping them see their surroundings better. Camera systems, including rear-view mirror cameras and ground-view cameras, scored highest in five of the six satisfaction attributes measured in the study. The technology that owners could really do without? Gesture controls. Owners who answered JD Power's survey say they don't use gesture controls much at all after initially trying them, and they don't really care if their next vehicle has them. We have to wonder if those responses might be what kept BMW out of the top spot. The TXI Study also found that owners are split on automated driving helpers, like lane-keeping assist and automatic emergency braking. JD Power suggests that owners may need more training on those systems before they learn to trust them. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Mini and John Cooper Works floating hub caps are factory fresh accessories

Fri, Sep 13 2019

Much of the allure of a Mini is tied to its iconic style and design. Beyond the legendary shape of the Mini Cooper, the company is heavy into unique details that celebrate the brand's heritage. Features such as Union Jack taillamps scream, "Look, I'm British!" while a new accessory inches even closer to the nose and says, "Look, I'm a Mini!" Literally, these new self-leveling hub caps read, "MINI" or "John Cooper Works."  Floating, or self-leveling, hub caps are not new, but they're new to the Mini Original Accessory store. For those who are unaware, these items use weights in the front of the center cap and a "flexible connection to the wheel hub extension" to keep the outermost part of the cap in one position. That position keeps whatever script is written on the cap horizontal and visible to all onlookers.  Mini says the standard wheel covers are easily removed and can quickly be changed out for these floating caps. The Mini cap takes uses a simple black background with chrome trim and script while the John Cooper Works caps have a black background, red outline, and silver, black, and red logo in the center. Both options are available for order at Mini dealerships, Mini partners, or at Mini's online shop for about $78 (Mini) or $93 (JCW). Auto News Design/Style MINI Parts and Accessories Performance

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.
