Wow! Absolutely like new and in the wrapper. This pampered fair weather car is my second Mini Convertible and is in mint way above average condition having covered just over 12,000 one owner miles in the Hamptons. Best of all, it comes with FREE FACTORY MAINTENANCE through October of of this year, and enjoys a FULL BUMPER TO BUMPER FACTORY WARRANTY through October of 2014. I have fallen in love with an old Mercedes so I am reluctantly letting her go. Wife says I am crazy but believe me, this is not a first for that observation. Local Southampton Mini dealer agrees this one is as nice as they come. I am a car guy who over indulges all his cars. Good for you. This is an absolute no brainer decision even over the internet. You get a near new car with free maintenance and a full transferable warranty. Come to the Hamptons and drive home in pure joy. NOTE: I had the option of buying an "S" model and drove both back to back. What the dealer don't tell you is there is a a "SPORT" setting button on the center console that makes this just as peppy off the line so I didn't think it was worth spending another $3,000. That's a personal decision but I have absolutely no complaints about performance even with an automatic. It gets around 31 MPG putting around the Hamptons. Don't know about highway mileage because this car has never been on a real highway. This car has the Winter Cold Weather package with heated seats, heated and power mirrors. In warm weather climates this is still a nice bonus because the heated seats are great on cool top down evenings. The only other major option is fog lights. I'm sure they work but I have never turned them on. Buy with complete confidence. No lemon here, it's full records are available and will stand in testimony to the quality of this fine car. It had the windshield replaced a year ago from a structure crack (common I am told) and an interior roof panel came loose so they put a new one in. That and a few oil and windshield wiper replacements are pretty much it. Plenty of tread left on the original tires. Zero road rash on the alloy wheels and a like new convertible top round out the package. Click Buy It Now before I come to my senses. Have a Mini Car Cover I will throw in ($225 new) that I used all the time because I am just that anal. Ask any questions. Thanks for your interest.

Street Glory Mappers turning cars into dynamic billboards like this
Fri, 04 Jul 2014A French marketing firm with the impenetrable name of Street Glory Mappers is literally turning cars into billboards. Of course, we've all seen vehicles painted up for promotional use, but this company is taking that concept even further by including video.
Street Glory Mappers equips the vehicles with a large video screen behind the windshield to play whatever is being advertised. According to the company's promo, it may even be possibly to sync up the vehicle's lights with the show, as well. The firm claims that it's a great form of temporary, mobile marketing because the car can arrive at the location, play the video and then go away when the prospective audience leaves.
While it doesn't necessarily seem any more effective than other forms of advertising, the firm's idea is at least unobtrusive. After all, it's easier to ignore a stationary car than a person handing out flyers. However, vehicle flashing its lights and playing video could certainly distract other drivers.
Mini might not replace Paceman, Coupe, Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014Nobody could argue at this point that Mini (like its parent company BMW) has not mastered the art (if you could call it that) of filling every niche with its own model. But with the third generation of Mini now upon us, some of the company's strategists are asking themselves what the point is of it all.
The outgoing second-generation Mini spawned too many variants to count. So far the new model has only surfaced in hatchback form, but the brand may roll out quite as many variants this time around. Instead it is looking at its lineup in terms of pillars.
The quintessential hatchback we've already seen would be one pillar. The Countryman crossover would be another. And the production version of the new Clubman concept which Mini displayed in Geneva would be a third. A convertible based (like the existing one and the one that came before it) on the hardtop hatchback is likely to follow, but don't expect too many other versions.
Last chance to order an R56 Mini Hardtop
Fri, 02 Aug 2013Mini will be ending custom orders of the current R56 Cooper Hardtop ahead of the retooling process for the new F56 Mini. That means owners who aren't enamored with what they've seen of the model's new look but still want a personalized version of the tossable hot hatch had best get down to their local Mini dealership and submit their order post-haste.
According to Mini enthusiast site Motoringfile, all orders must be submitted by August 28 in order to get a custom build. Orders are also locked in after that, so if you do get one of the spots, make sure you're absolutely content with the car you order. This cutoff will affect all models of the Hardtop, including the John Cooper Works model.
After August 28, owners will need to wait for the new Hardtop to arrive, which Motoringfile estimates will be in March of 2014. If you miss out on this final allocation of hardtops, all is not lost, however. Mini will still accept personalized orders on other bodystyles, which won't be replaced by F56-based models for some time.
