2009 Mini Jcw John Cooper Works Hardtop, Low Miles, 6 Speed, Turbo, No Accidents on 2040-cars
I have a super rare 2009 Mini JCW up for sale, there were less than 400 imported in 2009! This is not a Cooper S with some aftermarket parts, it is the factory John Cooper Works model. New to Mini? JCW's are very similar to the M division in BMW. She is silver metallic with carbon black leather interior, 6 speed manual transmission, only 49k miles with a clean carfax, and has never been in an accident. Currently has almost new Bridgestone Blizzak run flat snow tires with less than one winter on them, and a second set of max performance BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 summer tires is available. With the snow tires and electronic locking differential snow is no problem! All regular maintenance is done on schedule and has new front brakes, Stop-Tech cryo rotors mated with Hawk Racing pads. The only other aftermarket upgrade is the euro style arm rest/ center console which is larger, flips up, and is much more sturdy than the factory mini arm rest. Other than that it has the all the factory options except for the navigation package. These include: cold weather package: heated front seats, heated washer jets & heated power folding mirrors, Bluetooth hands free phone system, usb/ipod music adapter, premium package, dual pane panoramic power sunroof, auto climate control, keyless entry and push button start, Xenon HID headlights, front and rear fog lights. John Cooper Works includes a turbocharged 1.6L 4 cylinder engine with 208 HP and a sport suspension
EXPERTS ARE SAYING: From Edmunds.com: A marvelous marriage of British character and German know-how, the Mini Cooper is stylish, fun to drive and remarkably good on gas. 4 Star Driver Front Crash Rating. 5 Star Driver Side Crash Rating. Great Gas Mileage: 34MPG Hwy. Price is set in between KBB and NADA values at $19,000 and is negotiable, however low ballers will be ignored. New owner will have the option to transfer remaining warranty of 3 years/30k miles and 4 years of wheel and tire protection. Call or text Jeff at 203- six two three - 2404 |

Mini forgets to bring car to LA, shows Citysurfer concept scooter
Wed, 19 Nov 2014See that red thing? It's the Mini Citysurfer Concept. It is not, in case you were wondering, an automobile. Yet despite this apparent shortcoming, Mini has placed it on a plinth at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The electric scooter weighs in at 40 pounds, can hit 15 miles per hour, cover 10 to 15 miles and can be folded up and charged in the trunk of a Mini Cooper (or any other vehicle with a 12-volt outlet and a roomy enough cargo area). According to the British marque, these qualities will give the scooter's owner the "spontaneous and convenient mobility even in those sections of an urban area not accessible to motorized vehicles."
It's not terribly difficult to see the appeal, as Mini explains it. With urban congestion becoming an increasingly serious problem - and some cities beginning to ban cars outright - the idea of an easy to charge and easy to stow runabout is extremely attractive. That's doubly true in the case of the Citysurfer, which is rather well equipped, as far as scooters go.
2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP will start at $39,950*
Thu, 25 Oct 2012Get your wallets ready, folks. The 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP arrives this fall, and we've now learned that the cost of entry for the potent little hatchback is $39,950, (*) including $700 for destination.
Aside from an adorably tough appearance, that just-under-$40,000 price tag gets you a whole host of performance goodies, including a turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 218 horsepower and as much as 207 pound-feet of torque. No, that isn't any more oomph than what you get in the standard JCW Hardtop, but there's a whole lot more to the GP kit. For starters, there's a fully adjustable coilover suspension, not to mention a reduction in overall weight - at 2,558 pounds, the GP is 121 pounds lighter than a normal John Cooper Works Hardtop.
A Mini spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the JCW GP can only be purchased one way, and will be offered as an option package on the standard John Cooper Works Hardtop. Its starting price represents a $5,150 increase over a standard JCW model, and is the most expensive model in the Mini range (the next being the $35,550 John Cooper Works Countryman).
10 automakers sued over keyless ignitions
Thu, Aug 27 2015Keyless ignition has rapidly proliferated throughout the auto industry to become a fairly normal feature on new cars. It's supposed to offer the convenience of keeping the fob in your pocket and just pressing a button to drive away. However, ten major automakers are now being sued in US District Court over claims that the system is dangerous, Reuters reports. The suit alleges that people are forgetting to shut off the engine, and the lack of an idle timer is the cause for 13 deaths by carbon monoxide poisoning and multiple injuries. The suit currently includes 28 plaintiffs, according to Reuters, but the lawyers are asking for class-action status to potentially add many more. The case goes after a major swath of the industry, including BMW, Daimler, FCA, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen, plus their related brands like Acura, Infiniti, Mini, and Lexus. In all, over five million vehicles are affected. The assertion here is that people walk away from their vehicle without shutting it off because they believe the engine shuts off automatically. If parked in a garage, carbon monoxide can build up, leading to poisoning. The lawyers claim automakers know this is a problem and also cite 27 complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the issue, according to Reuters. The plaintiffs are asking for an automatic shut-off and damages from the companies. These concerns have come up before, though. Toyota previously faced a lawsuit over a carbon monoxide death after a woman accidentally left her Lexus running. Also earlier this year, GM recalled 64,186 examples of the 2011-2013 Chevrolet Volt because owners weren't shutting them off. The problem resulted in two injuries, and the company released a software update to limit the idling time.
