2009 Mini Cooper S Hatchback on 2040-cars
Marshfield, Massachusetts, United States
Second owner on this awesome 2009 Mini Cooper S. Sport and cold weather package and factory Xenon's! Low mileage and 17 inch two piece rims with brand new Continental Contisport Extreme Contact DW summer tires AND 16 inch steel rims with new (one winter) snow tires. I have the TireRack receipts for both if you are curious. Handles awesome, no squeaks rattles groans or other quirks. Handles one kid fine but its tough to fit two car seats in the back so she has to go. Purchased 18 months ago as a commuter vehicle (31mpg!) and was amazing through the worst winter we had in years. Some bubbling and peeling on the hood scoop but I have a new one in primer that I haven't gotten around to painting and installing. Has one scratch on the drivers side that was there when I got it, also the trim ring around the shift boot is loose but I understand that is pretty common. Had the water pump replaced 10k miles ago and that was the only maintenance I have had to do. I threw in a K&N air filter but other than that she is bone stock. Brakes, bulbs and interior are perfect, has the ambient LED lighting form the factory that you can change the colors on, and an AUX in for the stereo so your phone/ipod hooks right up. Any questions don't hesitate to ask, if you are local feel free to reach out or send a friend by to take a look, Cash or bank check ONLY. Buyer must arrange their own shipping, I will drop off/meet a truck within a reasonable distance. US buyers only please.

New Mini to bow on Nov. 18, on Alec Issigonis' birthday
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Miniacs, note November 18 on your calendar. That's when the all-new Mini Hardtop will debut. Now, this might not be a great deal of news, after all, we already showed you the car, codenamed F56, a few weeks ago. But this full unveiling should bring with it even more detailed exterior images, a full look at the cabin and if we're lucky, performance numbers.
History buffs will also note that November 18 is the birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis. It was Issigonis that penned the original idea for the Mini on a cocktail napkin, envisioning a car with a transversely mounted engine, the wheels pushed out to all four corners and plenty of cabin space for occupants. That car had a remarkably small footprint and was quite efficient, perfect for tackling the fuel shortages brought on by the Suez Crisis in 1959's Great Britain. An unintended side-effect of its design was that it was also an absolute hoot to drive.
The November 18 debut will take place at Mini's home, Plant Oxford, in the UK. Following that, November 20 will see a near-simultaneous debut at both the Tokyo Motor Show and Los Angeles Auto Show. We'll be on hand to bring you all the details.
Mini ditches four-seat Countryman
Wed, 10 Oct 2012Mini is walking away from the rear bucket seats in its Countryman crossover. MotoringFile.com reports that starting in 2013, the CUV will no longer offer just two seats in the second row. Originally, Mini was forced to offer the buckets due to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules governing the the minimum vehicle width for the allowance of three-wide seating. That rule was recently changed, which allowed Mini to offer the bench seat. Not surprisingly, few buyers have opted for the awkward bucket-and-rail configuration since. Moving forward, all Countryman models will also come with the vehicle's flat-load rear floor as well.
During our time with our long-term Countryman, we found the middle rail between the two buckets to be a bit gimmicky, especially given the fact that the cup holders were only large enough to accommodate a 12-ounce can.
Mini Cooper Hardtop 4-Door configurator is open for all
Thu, 11 Sep 2014The Mini Cooper five-door hatchback, which the company insists on calling the Mini Hardtop 4 Door, doesn't start arriving at US dealers until January 2015. However, if you dig the latest model's styling but can't live without the two extra doors, you can start speccing one right now in the recently launched configurator.
The new five-door hatch isn't just the standard model with extra doors squished in. It rides on a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase and is 6.3-inches longer overall. That means more room for rear passengers and extra space to haul stuff in the boot. The engine options are shared though with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque for the Cooper or a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 189 hp and 207 lb-ft in the Cooper S. Both are available with a six-speed manual or automatic.
Prices (including destination) for that extra space starts at $21,450 for the Cooper or $25,100 for the Cooper S, which is $1,000 more than the three-door in both cases. However, like any modern Mini, these guys are extremely customizable from the factory. There are an array of colors, 10 option packages and a ton of other add-ons to choose from.
