This is an extremely rare 2009 Mini Cooper Work Convertible. I am the original owner and have maintained my car exceptionally. It has a six-speed manual transmission and has VERY low miles - just 15,000!
This particular car is the top-of-the range John Cooper Works (JCW) package which originally added $7,320 to the Cooper S purchase price. A base JCW mini convertible had an original MSRP of $34,300. The John Cooper Works package is a factory installed performance package for the Mini Cooper, consisting of:
- 1.6L Engine producing 207bhp (over 35 bhp more than a standard Cooper S). To achieve the erxtra power, the engine includes a number of standard changes including lower compression pistons (10:1) and increased turbo pressure.
- BMW tuned Dynamic Traction and Stability Control
- John Cooper Works Sports exhaust
- John Cooper sports suspension and wheels
A complete maintenance history is available, with the most recent service having been performed in May of 2013. Car has already been smog checked for California sale.
Please contact me if you have questions or would like to come take a test drive today - Thanks!

Automotive April Fools' joke roundup [w/videos]
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Happy April, everyone. And we all know what this first day of the month means: April Fools' Day. Today is a national holiday for pranksters with the Internet acting as a serious enabler, and it's always fun to see what kind of vivid imaginations exist out there in the automotive world. The abundance of fake news gets a little old as the day rolls on, but we did manage to get in a few chuckles thanks to a handful of major automakers and automotive news outlets that got into the pranking spirit this year
Some of our favorites this year includes Subaru showing what happens when you combine a bunch of rumors, a Corvette some may have already thought was a joke or Honda providing some in-car innovation circa the late 1980s. Honestly, we're still waiting for official confirmation from Mitsubishi that the recently introduced 2014 Mirage is an elaborate April Fools' joke using a failed design intended for the 1995 Geo Metro. We dug up as much "official" OEM foolishness we could find, as well as some of our other favorites, and posted them all below.
Mini Superleggera Vision is the all-electric roadster Mini needs to make
Fri, 23 May 2014It could be argued that Mini has not built a pretty car since the R53, the first of the reborn Minis, was put out to pasture at the end of 2006. I've owned two R53s, so yes, I'm horribly biased. The styling situation in Oxford hasn't improved much for 2014, either, as the bigger, more frightened-looking Mini begins to arrive in dealerships, boasting a very un-Mini-like front overhang. This, though, this works.
It's called the Superleggera Vision, and straight away, we should point out that it's not designed by Mini. It's a product of Touring Superleggera, whose other creations include the stunning Disco Volante. It's a darn nice piece of design, and we're especially fond of its tiny, Jaguar D-type-like rear fin. It's also perfectly designed for it's debut location - the Concours d'Elegance at Italy's Villa d'Este.
Despite being a Mini, the Superleggera still boasts a traditional roadster layout, with a long hood and a shorter rear deck. The front end boasts a pair of traditionally styled Mini headlamps, which sit above a version of the new Cooper's gaping grille. The profile is brightened by a pair of character lines, the most noticeable of which runs from ahead and over the front wheel wells toward the back of the diminutive droptop. Of course, we can't not mention that amazing fin. It should be fitted to every Mini Roadster posthaste. The rear of the car, meanwhile, almost reminds us of an old Aston Martin Vanquish, thanks to the shape of its taillights and their rounded rectangular enclosure. And yes, those are union jacks inside the taillights. God save the queen.
