This 2008 MINI Cooper S convertible has the supercharged 1.6L 168 horsepower engine instead of the 115 horsepower normally aspirated base model. This S includes the optional six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic paddles. The unique convertible roof allows for a "sunroof" configuration as well as a full top down configuration. The S steps up to traction control, a stiffer suspension setup, 16-inch alloy wheels, front seats with more lateral support, and stainless steel pedals, in addition to the all-important blower. Exterior differences include a functional hood scoop, a front apron, chrome plated side air inlets, and a body color grille. This Mini Coooper S Convertible also includes the hard to find Sidewalk Package. It adds an upgraded sound system, unique interior surfaces, beautiful tan and white leather work, and many of the more desirable options, such as xenon headlights and automatic air conditioning.

2014 Mini John Cooper Works GP

About three weeks prior to this brief yet balls-to-the-wall drive on the Spanish island of Mallorca, I saw that Mini USA announced pricing for the keenly anticipated Mini John Copper Works GP. And that number would be - *a-hem* - $39,950 for starters.
I am always intent upon finding the pinnacle of what a certain car promises me, and almost at any cost. Almost. When I think "steaming hatchback," I think of something exactly like this Mini GP, and the steep price doesn't squelch my pleasure. They're only building 2,000 of them anyway, and the units coming to the US will start arriving in owners' hands on March 16 of next year. These buyers will be extremely happy and remorse-free.

Car Club USA heads to New Hampshire for Minis On Top, an annual Mini owner event at the base of Mt. Washington. Owners meet, greet, and compete for best of show honors, and then make the thrilling ascent to the top of Mt. Washington. Mini ditches four-seat Countryman

Mini is walking away from the rear bucket seats in its Countryman crossover. MotoringFile.com reports that starting in 2013, the CUV will no longer offer just two seats in the second row. Originally, Mini was forced to offer the buckets due to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules governing the the minimum vehicle width for the allowance of three-wide seating. That rule was recently changed, which allowed Mini to offer the bench seat. Not surprisingly, few buyers have opted for the awkward bucket-and-rail configuration since. Moving forward, all Countryman models will also come with the vehicle's flat-load rear floor as well.
During our time with our long-term Countryman, we found the middle rail between the two buckets to be a bit gimmicky, especially given the fact that the cup holders were only large enough to accommodate a 12-ounce can.
