2006 Mini Cooper Convertible Salvage Title 69k on 2040-cars
Springfield, Massachusetts, United States
I am sure I am close to having her running. This vehicle is cranking, windows, lights, power locks work. horn, Radio powers on! Picked up a cam sensor today and have not installed it yet.
I purchased the car just about a year ago. It came from New Jersey with as a Salvage title (flood). TItle in hand, processed now by State of Massachusetts. I was happy the day of delivery. My electrical engineer friend gave me my stamp of approval and told me I bought a solid car. Upon first encountering water the interior was removed, the majority of the interior is now back in place. There is no odor. (If there ever was a correct way to address a car that took on water this is it.) -popped in a new NAPA battery. At the time, I could not get the dash to light up. Purchased a New Fuse box. Still no dash lights. Purchased matching car computer. still nothing. New ECU from ebay still nothing. Tax seasons came. Got it out of winter storage, and to a local shop. All the cars electrical has been gone over with a fine tooth comb. All connectors have been sprayed and cleaned.Dash lights on:), more parts later Cranking.. Catch up on the bill. grrr. Part comes. Not getting fire to the plugs. Do test I found online on mini forum and test confirms no spark. Another part coil, still no..put in new plugs ..nothing ahh..:( If it is not a this cam sensor or wires (did not pick them up yet) there is a code that is the last 5 digits of the vin. that i need to put in off the new computer from ebay? I don't know but could use the cash more and finish the work on my home.Looks like someone else can get the satisfaction of cruising this down the road. If I got it rolling I was going to toss a new exhaust on her. there is a small hole in but had it on the lift and it is a solid car. just stumped. If you are handy. you can be the genius! Would be a nice vehicle for someone. That computer new from the dealer is 1,400. I priced it. Thought of maybe getting new one or one in it flashed cause it is good. It wanted to run and like the new computer said oops new computer "do not reconize". 100% rating by the way! Thanks for looking. When i get the cash, the title will be overnighted. Shipping must happen 48 hours after payment. Have receipts for work that is already been done. Will have to gather it up. Plus crank sensor registered official mini dealer. Message me with any specific questions. Will try to take more pics and add them if it does not sell this 1st time around. As is, no warranty. Buyer will be responsible for shipping. Have around 10,000-10,500 invested. Message me with any questions. Thanks for shopping! Going to take some more photos this weekend if it did not sell yet? Have a feeling it should be a quick sell! |

Mini Seven Special Edition looks back to the days of Austin
Wed, May 11 2016Mini is back at the game of special editions with the Seven, the first of its kind for the third-generation Hardtop. Named after the original Austin Seven – one of the two original Mini models, alongside the Morris Mini Minor – the new style pack is available on both the two- and four-door and the Cooper and Cooper S models. But where past Mini special editions have been largely homogenous, the new Seven has a surprising array of options, especially as it relates to colors and upholsteries. Owners can choose from four different paint schemes – Lapisluxury Blue (shown above), Pepper White, Midnight Black, and British Racing Green. The options continue in the cabin, where owners can select the Seven-specific Diamond Malt Brown fabric/leather upholstery, or they can go with straight leather in Cross Punch Carbon Black, Lounge Satellite Grey, or MINI Yours Lounge Carbon Black. There are four dash trim options, too, with standard Piano Black, and optional Dark Cottonwood, Fibre Alloy, and Off-White. Below the trim strip, owners can have either a Malt Brown color line or Carbon Black. A set of 17-inch, two-tone alloys are standard, and regardless of which exterior paint you opt for, you're stuck with a Melting Silver roof. The decreasing-width stripes match the roof and have what Mini claims are Malt Brown rules, but we're seeing red trimmings in these photos. Heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, Comfort Access, a Harmon/Kardon stereo, park-distance control, power-folding, auto-dimming mirrors, and a 6.5-inch Mini Connected system are all standard features as part of the Seven package, while additional options will be available, like on any other Cooper or Cooper S. Mini's press release, for example, specifically calls out the larger 8.8-inch Mini Connected XL and adaptive dampers as available options. Mini will announce prices for the Seven package nearer to its late summer on-sale date. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Recharge Wrap-up: Mini Superleggera decision delayed, Denza begins production
Thu, Sep 11 2014A decision on whether or not to build the Mini Superleggera has been pushed back. Earlier this year, Mini's Peter Schwarzenbauer hinted that the electric roadster concept could eventually make its way to production. Now, Schwarzenbauer is saying that a possible call is still at least six months away. "To really investigate seriously," Schwarzenbauer says, "you look into several different options, you come to the question: do we produce it ourselves, do we give it to somebody else?" Mini is considering whether or not to expand its seven-car lineup to 10 models, or scale it back to five "superheroes," which still wouldn't rule out more models. Read more at Reuters. The first EV from Daimler and BYD's joint venture, Denza, is set to go on sale this month, with production already starting. The 50/50 partnership said earlier that it was "well on track" to begin sales in September 2014. Now, Daimler has announced that the first Denza has rolled off the production line. According to Daimler, the cars will be sold through an independent dealer network. The Denza, which has a range of about 186 miles, will start at about $60,000. China's generous subsidies could help bring that cost down quite a bit (by nearly $20,000) for customers. Read more at Want China Times, or in the press release from Daimler, below. Local Motion wants to help organizations pool their transportation resources through fleet-sharing, with a focus on EVs. The company uses software to manage and track vehicle use, diagnostics, energy consumption, vehicle reservations and the like. The keyless technology allows employees to reserve and use the right vehicle for the job, and allows companies to save on vehicle ownership and maintenance. Local Motion is working with companies like Nissan to encourage the adoption of emissions-free driving, as well. Read more in the press release below, or at the Local Motion's website. DENZA rolls off production lines in China marking another key milestone for Daimler - Daimler's joint venture with Chinese partner BYD is the first Sino-German joint venture dedicated to electric vehicles in China. - Hubertus Troska: "DENZA is by far the most serious local electric vehicle effort in China, and a key pillar of our electric vehicle strategy in the country." - DENZA is manufactured at a modern production line that follows Daimler's proven production management system.
2021 Mini Countryman spied wearing a subtle change of clothes
Mon, Jul 22 2019Mini isn’t taking its crossover lineup anywhere but forward these days, and a facelift for the tall Countryman appears to be next in line. We got details for the hot JCW version of the Countryman a couple of months back, but a mid-cycle refresh is on the docket for the regular version now. Spy photos of the refreshed Countryman show all the exterior changes will be coming to the front and rear portions of the car. Everything else about the long and wide Mini is staying the same, but we could see some interior improvements in the name of technology. As for whatÂ’s visible through the camouflage, the Countryman doesnÂ’t appear to be going through anything radical in the front or back. The grille looks like itÂ’s taking on the same shape as the current Countryman. However, a few minor changes to the lower front bumper are noticeable. Mini looks to be changing up the vents/intake design down there. We donÂ’t mind the carÂ’s current design, but this doesnÂ’t seem to be changing much anyway. The most obvious change out back is the carÂ’s taillight design. ItÂ’s a different pattern on the curvy red light element, but itÂ’s not a Union Jack flag. Perhaps Mini will ultimately tack the Union Jack on it, but this prototype doesnÂ’t wear the British pride on its hindquarters. Perhaps the big takeaway here is more about the lack of changes Mini appears to have in store. WeÂ’ll be hoping the upgrade is heavy on tech and new features rather than actual design changes. The Countryman went through a radical (large) rebirth for the 2017 model year, but hasnÂ’t exactly lit the world on fire with sales since. Last year was the modelÂ’s best year since 2014, but itÂ’s still behind the modelÂ’s all-time best-selling years. WeÂ’ll expect this light refresh to hit us for the 2021 Countryman, so a reveal sometime next year is likely.
