ABOUT THE VEHICLE

This 2005 Mini Cooper Coupe was purchased brand new by Red Bull North America, Inc. to be used as one of their promotional cars.

There were approximately 500 of these cars commissioned to be built by A California custom shop that were used all over the country. The promotion was extremely successful as everyone who sees this car instantly identifies it as a "Red Bull Mini Truck" even without the logos & giant can in place!

This 2005 Mini Cooper Red Bull Truck is finished in Blue Metallic with Custom Graphics and a matching Black Leatherette Interior. All of the power features and everything is in excellent working order. Yes, all of the power windows, locks, mirrors, steering, brakes, stereo, headlights, wipers, etc. all work great! This Mini rides & drives FANTASTIC! In town or cruising down the highway at 100 kph you could not ask for a nicer or better driving Mini Cooper I just have too many toys and something has to go.

This one is sure to please its new owners for many years to come!

The exterior is in great condition. The paint is clean and has an excellent luster to it as you can see in the many pictures we have included in this listing. All of the graphics look great too. The custom installed sunroof is certainly a very cool feature! The bumpers, moldings, glass, etc. all look great too. Originally for Red Bull there would have been 2 rear coolers, but all of that has been removed and after some very extensive changes this Mini has been converted into a PICKUP TRUCK with a custom lockable tonneau cover! The custom alloy wheels are riding on a set of 4 new low profile tires with less than 500km on them.

The interior is also in excellent condition. The interior looks just super as you can see. The leatherette seats are clean and look just super side to side. There is also a little bit of storage room behind the front seats. The dash is clean and has no stress cracks either. The carpets are clean and all look great too. Just take a look at all of the pictures and see how special this Red Bull Mini truly is!

DO NOT MISS THIS ONE THERE MAY NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT!

Thanks for looking and good luck with the auction.

Volkswagen's latest ad is not subtle | Autoblog Podcast #509

Fri, Mar 24 2017

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are joined by special guest James Riswick, who has been driving a lot of new cars lately. All of them are discussed, plus a few more from Mike and David, and Mike rants a bit about a new VW Atlas commercial. The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, during which David briefly goes out into left field. (He's back now, don't worry.) The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Mini prepping new John Cooper Works convertible

Sat, Jan 17 2015

Those enamored by a Mini's spritely handling and retro styling but looking for that extra performance edge have had a succession of John Cooper Works models to choose from, straight through to the latest version unveiled this week in Detroit. And now, Mini appears to be preparing a JCW version of the new convertible. Spied undergoing cold-weather testing in Scandinavia, this Mini prototype appears to be wearing the tell-tale signs of a JCW model, combined with the folding fabric roof of the convertible model. Mini has yet to reveal the convertible version of the latest, third-generation Cooper, but while we're expecting it to take a similar approach to the outgoing model – with four seats and a soft top stacking up in the back when open – there's always the chance that, with the demise of the two-seat Roadster model, the roof on the new cabrio will fold more flush with the rear deck. Since this prototype, like the previous one we saw over a year ago on a flat-bed truck, has its roof up, it's impossible to say at this point. What we can see is that this prototype, though decked out in swirly camouflage, is wearing the upgraded body kit of the new JCW hatch, including the flared wheel arches, big air vents and dual central exhaust tips. The wheels, though wearing snow tires appropriate to the climate, fill those flared fenders well, and are in turn packed with what look like pretty big brakes. Expect the 2.0-liter turbo four to pack the same 228 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque as the hardtop version, only with the added thrill of wind in your hair. Of course, if Mini is indeed preparing to launch a JCW version of the new convertible, there's nothing to say it won't do the same with the four-door Hardtop, the upcoming Clubman wagon or any other body-style in the new range. Thanks to smaller engines, vehicle dependability falls for first time in 16 years

Fri, Feb 14 2014

As automakers have made engines smaller and smaller to improve fuel economy, problems in those vehicles have gotten bigger and bigger. That's the synopsis of a J.D. Power vehicle-dependability study, which found that dependability dropped for the first time in 16 years, largely because the proliferation of four-cylinder engines is causing the vehicles to be less reliable. Specifically, the number of problems per 100 vehicles (or what J.D. Power calls PP100) during the past 12 months for 2011 model-year vehicles rose six percent from the year-earlier figures for 2010 model-year cars. Singling out four-cylinder vehicles revealed about a 10-percent increase in problems during the past year. This issues largely related to engine hesitation, rough transmission shifting and lack of power, signaling the inability of vehicle makers to iron out some of the problems in their smaller engines as they strove for better fuel economy. Six- and five-cylinder engines proved far more reliable. Among car brands, BMW's Mini sub-brand came out as least reliable, with 185 problems per 100 vehicles during the past year. Toyota's Lexus badge was easily the most reliable, with just 68 problems per 100 vehicles. Coming in second place was Mercedes-Benz. The overall average was 133. Check out J.D. Power's press release below. J.D. Power Reports: Increased Engine and Transmission Problems Contribute to Decline in Vehicle Dependability for The First Time in More Than 15 Years General Motors Company Receives Eight Segment Awards, While Toyota Motor Corporation Garners Seven and Honda Motor Company Earns Six WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.: o Owners of 3-year-old vehicles (2011 model year) report more problems than did owners of 3-year-old vehicles last year, according to the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS) released today. The study, now in its 25th year, examines problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of 2011 model-year vehicles. Overall dependability is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study finds that overall vehicle dependability averages 133 PP100, a 6 percent increase in problems from 126 PP100 in 2013. This marks the first time since the 1998 study that the average number of problems has increased. "Until this year, we have seen a continual improvement in vehicle dependability," said David Sargent, vice president of global automotive at J.D.
