REPAIR VEHICLE FOR SALE:
This is a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Sedan; white over white, with a gray interior, with 182,000+ miles (exceeds actual posted miles on the odometer). The car is not running at this time due to a water pump repair that was in process, a bolt broke off in the motor and the repair hasn't been made. This can be drilled out, and a new bolt put in its place. The new water pump and all parts come with the car upon sale.
The car has a 302 V8, Auto O/D Transmission, A/C, P/S, P/B, P/Locks, Power Trunk Lock, Power Drivers and Passenger Seat Front. Cruise Control. There is no radio in the car as the radio that was in it was no longer working.
We no longer have the time or money to repair and keep this vehicle. It was my fathers and due to his ailing health he can no longer drive and asked us to sell it for him. The car was a strong runner that shifts very smoothly when it was parked a year ago and everything worked. There is no body damage other than a few nicks and scratches or major rust as is normal for a car of this age. The vinyl top will need to be replaced sometime down the road but it's in fair shape with no apparent cracking. It is discoloring due to weathering. The right rear door needs to be realigned due to it being leaned on by my elderly father as he got in and out of the car, but it does open and shut just fine. The driver's seat motor slips, but this can also be adjusted with little or no work.
NOTHING ELSE IS KEEPING THIS CAR FROM RUNNING other than what has been noted above. As a 1990 vehicle, it is 2 years from no longer having to need to be smogged! This can be an excellent runner for very little time and money for the right owner. This is a California car.

Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes
Mon, 18 Jul 2011Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
Ford recalling 450,000 Fusion, Mercury Milan sedans
Tue, Nov 24 2015Ford has announced a pair of recalls, and both are critical safety issues. The exponentially larger of the two recall campaigns affects over 450,000 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans manufactured at the Hermosillo plant between July 21, 2008, and March 4, 2011. The canister purge valve in the fuel tank could malfunction and could cause the top of the tank to crack and leak fuel. That could cause a fire, although Ford "is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires" resulting from the issue. Affected vehicles will have their ECU software updated and their fuel tanks inspected for potential replacement. The company estimates there are 411,205 affected units in the United States (and its federalized territories), plus another 33,605 in Canada, and 7,055 in Mexico. The second recall affects 13 F-650 trucks. The column shifter's park position mechanism may fracture and let the truck roll away unexpectedly. Those 2016 models built in Ohio between July 29 and September 3, 2015 are all located in the US. Fixing the problem will require replacing the steering column and reconfiguring the instrument panel. FORD ISSUES TWO SAFETY RECALLS IN NORTH AMERICA DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 23, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is issuing two safety recalls in North America. Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to these conditions. Details are as follows: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles in North America for potential fuel tank issue Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 450,000 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles for a potential issue with the fuel tank. Some of these vehicles might have a canister purge valve that does not work properly, causing internal pressure changes inside the fuel tank.
