This is a "Project" car that still needs more work. Look at the pictures and read the description. Starting the bid low to give everyone a chance. Due to disability and financial problems, I am unable to finish the car. Now looking to sell to raise quick cash for bills. The Rebuilt Engine, Transmission and Rear plus all these parts listed, then add all the machine shops and all the mechanics costs come to over $12 grand total. Most of the hard work and cost has been done. Should not take much more to get it on the road.
Owned this car Since 1982 when I purchased it from family member. This car was a daily driver up until several years ago. We decided to upgrade the engine, transmission and rear end. Plenty of New parts and alot of mechanical work has been done. Started up this engine for it's first time (has zero miles since rebuild) and it sounded great with the Hooker Headers and Turbo Mufflers. Unfortunately it stalled out a few times due to bad fuel (tea colored) shown in the clear fuel filter. I would recommend replacing the 40 year old Gas Tank and Fuel Lines because of the gas tanks internal rust will contaminate the engine. The engine has no miles on it and will need adjustments and a breakin period. The 3 Speed Automatic transmission has no miles on it, needs to run all gears and check fluids. The rear end was rebuilt with new bearings and 4.11 gears also with no miles on it. The car will need some minor work and TLC before you can drive it on the road. The car needs lots of body work, has rust in quarters, floor and trunk. Will need paint and body work to make is look great. Plus any other minor mechanical issues. The interior is original all black as it came. Dash shows cracking and so does the leather seats. The black carpet is worn and needs replacement. The door panels show alot of wear. The black headliner has wear and a minor few tears. This is normal condition for a 40 year old car. Below is a partial listing, many more New parts just too much to list all of them.
This sale is for serious car buyers only, email me with your phone number for more details and appointment. This car is in a Las Vegas Storage Facility. Not driveable, so it will need to be towed and or shipped. Local buyers, If you want to hear the engine, I will get help to start it up for a demo run (not to drive). Payment in cash upon pickup. Clean Nevada Title in my name. Sold "as-is" condition all sales are final.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating a complaint that Ford's response to a May 2014 recall of the 2008 to 2011 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner doesn't quite go far enough to solve a troubling power-steering problem. Roughly a year ago, Ford recalled nearly a million vehicles after it was found that a problem with the torque sensor's communication with the power steering control module could cut steering assistance for drivers. While manual steering would still be available, the problem was enough to ask drivers to report in to have the PSCM inspected, and if necessary, replaced (along with the torque sensor, or in dramatic cases, the entire steering column). That would only happen, though, if trouble codes were being thrown. If there weren't any problems, dealers were told to simply update the PSCM's software so that any issues between it and the torque sensor would simply throw a visual and audio warning power steering would still be maintained. The petitioner claimed that following the recall work, he still experienced a problem with the torque sensor. According to NHTSA, a claim was made that Ford didn't go far enough in its solution to the problem, and that "the software update itself may in fact cause further issues with the affected vehicle's power steering, causing it to fail, and ultimately requiring replacement of the torque sensor or entire steering column." The petition was filed in early February and is now officially being looked into by NHTSA.

Ford is recalling 600,166 older-model Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles over an issue that could affect braking and increase the risk of a crash. The safety recall covers certain Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ sedans from the 2006 through 2010 model years that were built at Fords Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico between Feb. 22, 2006, and July 15, 2009. Ford says a valve that is normally closed inside the hydraulic control unit may get stuck in the open position or be slow to close, which could make it harder to engage the brakes and increase risk of a crash. Ford says itΒs aware of 15 reports of accidents and two injuries possibly related to the issue. Dealers will inspect the hydraulic control unit for signs of the problem and replace it, if necessary. The dealers will pressure-flush the system with brake fluid and replace the reservoir cap with a new one. Ford is also issuing a small recall of 33 of its 2020 F-150 trucks in the U.S. and 51 in Canada over potentially damaged spare tires. It says the bead area on the tires may have been damaged when it was mounted onto the wheel assembly, leaving it vulnerable to corrosion, separation of the bead wire and ultimately a rapid loss of air pressure and detachment from the wheel. Dealers will replace the spare tire. Affected vehicles were built at the Dearborn Truck Plant from Nov. 10-21 of this year.

Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.
Thanks for the tip, Gregg!
