Muscle Car Garage: We are a private collection of 60's and 70's muscle cars. We also do restorations in our two locations in the Jacksonville and Orlando area. From time to time we decide to offer one of our collector cars up for sale. Our vehicles are usually full "nut and bolt" restorations and are the quality of a regional or local show car winner. Many of our cars are previous trophy winners. We are not dealers just car enthusiasts who have been collecting cars for years and performing restorations to the level of regional show car quality. We are not a concourse restorer, and many of our cars are trailered to events but most vehicles can be driven if you choose to do so. All Around Details: Up for auction is our 1964 Mercury Comet Super Stocker Factory Issue Drag Car Tribute. This is a nice driver quality restoration on a rare 202 Comet made to look like a factory issue Drag Car from the sixties. Has vintage drag tint and quarter race stickers along with teardrop hood scoop and color match steelies and bullet lug nuts. Comet is fitted with a rebuilt late 60's Ford 302 and a Tremec 5 Speed Trans matted to a Ford 8" rear end with 3:08 gears. Car is super reliable and can be driven anywhere with no worries. Car is not super fast but will get up and go.. Motor was rebuilt about 9,000 miles ago to factory specs and also a new clutch went in at that time. Ignition was upgarded to Pertronix and also brakes were upgraded to a dual master cylinder and appropriate proportioning valve. Comet has upgraded '69 Mustang front suspension including large sway bar. Trunk pan and floor pans are all original and very solid. Interior has new headliner and carpet but upholstery and door panels are original and in decent shape. Car has aftermarket temp and oil pressure gauges. All blinkers, lights, wipers, etc work as they should. Windows roll up and down with ease. Car starts up easy everytime, does not run hot, and never has let us down. This is a super cool and rare muscle car that when you pull up to your local cruise in or car show, you will be the only one like it!!!!! All Around Rating: 8 out of 10
Exterior Details: Comet was repainted original Wimbledon White about 6 months ago. Color match steelies with new Kumho tires and bullet lug nuts give it that vintage drag car look. Hood is metal with fiberglass tear drop hood scoop that was applied in a high quality way with an epoxy agent for lasting results. Hood has working existing latch and hood pins. Comet has the super cool blue vintage drag tint and old school racing stickers in each quater window. All chrome and stainless are original and have the correct patina. The glass on the car is all good with no cracks, chips, or hazing. All in all the Comet has that super cool simplistic factory issue look that drag cars had back in the sixties, Exterior Rating: 8 out of 10 Interior Details: The interior of the car is mostly original but in very nice shape. The headliner and carpet were replaced but the upholstery and door panels appear original but are still pretty nice. We did replace some door handles and cranks as well as the dash bezel. All of the interior of the car was gutted and repainted blue so it looks nice inside. After market Oil and Temp gauges were installed under dash. Comet has an old school dash mounted true vintage Sun Super Tach giving it that sixties drag car look. The hurst Super Comp shifter is precise and looks cool with this bench seat beauty. All interior and dash lighting works as it should inclduing indicators and even the original AM radio light!!!! The cabin fan and defrost are also operational. Interior Rating: 8 out of 10 Mechanical Details: The Comet has a Ford 302 that was rebuilt approximately 9,000 miles ago. It was rebuilt to stock specs so we estimate the horsepower at 260. It has a factory Ford 4 barrel manifold and a Holley 600 cfm carb. The ignition has been upgraded to an electronic Pertronix as well as a Fireball Ignitor. Accell wires and Super Coil round out the under hood upgrades. The valve covers are original factory Ford HiPo chrome stamped valve covers with a K&N breather. Radiator has been flushed and brakes have been upgraded to a dual master cylinder reservoir and appropriate proportioning valve. Trans is the super Tremec T5 with cable actuated clutch. Clutch, pressure plate, and throw our bearing were replaced approximately 9,000 miles ago. Comet has dual exhaust into glass packs for that vintage sound and adjustable air shocks in the rear for the look you want. Rear end is a Ford 8" with 3:08 gears. So car runs down the highway nicely in 5th gear. The entire front suspension is from a 1969 Mustang and has the larger sway bar. The steering box was sent off to get rebuilt as well 9,000 miles ago. This Comet runs and drives very well. It is super reliable and actually gets decent fuel mileage with the 5 speed. There are no surprises mechanically as I rate this as one of our most reliable cars in the collection. Mechanical Rating: 9 out of 10
In summary, this 1964 Mercury Comet Super Stocker has a very cool vintage look. It runs and drives exceptionally well and is extremely reliable. This is a fun driver quality collectable muscle car that you can have fun with as is or take it to another level by adding a straight axle and a more potent engine for that true gasser look. The car has less than 80,000 original miles on it from what we know and is mostly untouched except for the drivetrain and suspension swap outs that have been done. Interior is mostly original and exterior is as it would have been in the '60's pulling up to the drag strip. Good luck bidding. You juist don't find these and this one is very solid underneath. Call me with questions that I have not answered here at (321) 277-6718. Thanks Terms Of Sale

Car Stories: Owning the SHO station wagon that could've been
Fri, Oct 30 2015A little over a year ago, I bought what could be the most interesting car I will ever own. It was a 1987 Mercury Sable LS station wagon. Don't worry – there's much more to this story. I've always had a soft spot for wagons, and I still remember just how revolutionary the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable were back in the mid-1980s. As a teenager, I fell especially hard for the 220-horsepower 1989 Ford Taurus SHO – so much so that I'd go on to own a dozen over the next 20 years. And like many other quirky enthusiasts, I always wondered what a SHO station wagon would be like. That changed last year when I bought the aforementioned Sable LS wagon, festooned with the high-revving DOHC 3.0-liter V6 engine and five-speed manual transmission from a 1989 Taurus SHO. In addition, the wagon had SHO front seats, a SHO center console, and the 140-mph instrument cluster with mileage that matched the engine. When I bought it, that number was just under 60,000 – barely broken in for the overachieving Yamaha-sourced mill. The engine and transmission weren't the only upgrades. It wore dual-piston PBR brakes with the choice Eibach/Tokico suspension combo in front. The rear featured SHO disc brakes with MOOG cargo coils and Tokico shocks, resulting in a wagon that handled ridiculously well while still retaining a decent level of comfort and five-door functionality. I could attack the local switchbacks while rowing gears to a 7,000-rpm soundtrack just as easily as loading up on lumber at the hardware store. Over time I added a front tower brace to stiffen things a bit as well as a bigger, 73-mm mass airflow sensor for better breathing, and I sourced some inexpensive 2004 Taurus 16-inch five-spoke wheels, refinished in gunmetal to match the two-tone white/gunmetal finish on the car. That, along with some minor paint and body work, had me winning trophies at every car show in town. And yet, what I loved most about the car wasn't its looks or performance, but rather its history. And here's where things also get a little philosophical, because I absolutely, positively love old used cars. Don't get me wrong – new cars are great. Designers can sculpt a timeless automotive shape, and engineers can construct systems and subsystems to create an exquisite chassis with superb handling and plenty of horsepower. But it's the age and mileage that turn machines into something more than the sum of their parts.
Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes
Mon, 18 Jul 2011Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. Check out the official NHTSA press release after the jump for further details.
Ford announces two recalls, 442k vehicles affected in North America
Wed, May 27 2015Ford is announcing two recalls for North American that affect a total of 442,300 vehicles and multiple model lines. The larger campaign covers the possibility of electric power steering systems that can fail in the 2011-2013 Ford Flex, Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and MKT; the 2011-2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ; and the 2011 Mercury Milan. This recall affects 422,814 vehicles in North America, including 393,622 in the United States, 25,195 in Canada, and 3,997 in Mexico. According to the company, an intermittent electrical connection can cause the power steering to cut out, although manual steering would still work. Ford knows of four minor accidents from this issue, but there are no injuries. Depending on trouble codes from the vehicle, dealers will either upgrade software for the power steering control module or replace the steering gear. The second recall covers 19,486 examples of the 2015 Ford Mustang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a production date between February 14, 2014, and February 10, 2015 at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Specifically, there are 19,095 of these in the US and 391 in Canada. These pony cars can show elevated underbody temperatures, which can lead to degradation of the fuel tank, fuel vapor lines, and parking brake cable seals. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires from this, though. To fix things, dealers will install a better-insulated fuel tank shield, add thermal patches around the tank and parking brake cable, and put thermal wraps around the fuel vapor lines. You can read the specific build dates and locations for the models affected by the power steering issue in Ford's press release below the video.
