NEW STARTER , I PUT THE HARDTOP ON IT , I PAINTED THE CAR , ITS NOT A PERFECT PAINT JOB BUT IT LOOKS GOOD . I HAVE PUT ALOT IN THIS CAR AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED OR REBUILT AND IM TIRED OF PUTTING MONEY IN IT , THERES NO RUST ON THIS CAR AND IT HAS THE HARDTOP AND CONVERTIBLE TOP . THE ENGINE RUNS GREAT NO PROBLEMS AT ALL . I HAVE PUT AROUND 2000.00 IN THIS CAR AND IM DONE . SOMEONE NEEDS A GREAT LITTLE CAR AND CAN REBUIL;D THE TRANNY HERE IT IS IM ASKING HALF WHAT IVE PUT IN THIS CAR IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS. I ALSO REPLACED THE OUTER TIERODS AND THE RACK WAS REPLACED . THE REASON CAR HAS SALVAGE TILTLE IS THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE PREVIOUS OWNERS GARAGE THE REAR BUMPER MELTED AND THE INSURED CALLED IT A TOTAL LOSS BUT THE GUY LOVED THE CAR SO MUCH HE KEPT THE CAR AND REPLACED AND HAD THE REAR OF THE CAR REPAINTED . AGAIN READ AD THE TRANSMISSION WILL NEED REBUILT OR REPLACED . THE CAR HAS POWER WINDOWS AND MIRROS AND A AM FM CD PLAYER , IT DOES HAVE AC BUT I THINK IT NEEDS RECHARGED . Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.
Ford recalls 1.9m cars and crossovers for defective airbags
Wed, Jun 1 2016The Basics: Ford is recalling a total of 1,898,728 vehicles to replace defective Takata front passenger-side airbags. This includes the 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, 2005-2011 Ford Mustang, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX and 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ, Zephyr and Mercury Milan vehicles built in North America. The Problem: The defective airbags have been linked to ruptures that can send metal fragments at the passenger, due to deteriorating propellant. Injuries/Deaths: Ford claims it's not aware of any injuries due to the problem, but rupturing Takata airbags have been linked to a series of serious injuries and deaths. The Fix: Dealers will replace the passenger-side frontal airbag at no charge to the customer. If you own one: Look out for a letter from the manufacturer to arrange service at your local dealer. Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
