My Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 Corvette C5 is a senior citizen owned car with only 94k well-maintained miles! This car has the larger engine option that offers superior sports car performance while still maintaining excellent economy. It has an automatic transmission that has the feature allowing driver to manually shift gears when you want (by simply moving the shift knob left or right when in Drive) Exterior is excellent for the year and the interior is in better condition than most SLK 320's you will see (interior has not been abused and it is in good--but not excellent--condition). Most important, this car drives excellent and the steering, suspension, handling is great and like it should be. Exterior is clean and nice though clear part of passenger parking needs replacement. Has good Bridgestone tires with plenty of life left. Air conditioning is cold. The factory radio stays with car but a Kenwood in-dash CD player that accepts MP3 players, iPods and flash drives has been added--offering great sound. This car has been 100% dependable to me and always a great experience to drive. Plus, interior is much more roomy than it appears on the outside to be--it is comfortable even for longer trips. I purchased car from an insurance company and replaced the passenger tail light and also the rear bumper that was torn below the passenger tail light and it was professionally painted to match no other paint work needed. NOTE: I use this car as a great HARDTOP COUPE and NOT a convertible--the top motor was incomplete and not working when I purchased car (I wasn't looking for a convertible)...and it remains that way now. Some plastic panels in trunk have been removed. It has a good, roadworthy title that was issued after close inspection from state inspectors, converted from what was a "rebuildable" title. I have driven this car for about two years but have just retired and am selling this car and my Corvette C5 because monthly insurance costs are unnecessary with the reduced income that is a reality of retirement. This is an outstanding value on a very sharp, low-milleage Mercedes-Benz that also offers great dependability. The car is located in Fort Myers, FL—an easy I-75 drive from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO VIEW MY CAR IN PERSON BEFORE COMMITTING TO PURCHASE! Please feel free to ask me any questions! |

Camaro SS facelift and dune-riding the new Mercedes-Benz GLS | Autoblog Podcast #579
Fri, May 3 2019In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Reese Counts and Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. First, they talk about the newly refreshed Chevy Camaro SS. Then they dish on the cars they've been driving, including the Lexus UX, Lexus GS F and Volvo V90, as well as riding in the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. After that, they ask the question, how many AMG cars is too many? Finally they turn to car buying, and suggest potential vehicles for a shopper on Reddit for the "Spend My Money" segment. 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Now Even Sharper Than The Razor's Edge
There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.
2015 Italian Grand Prix is smoke, mirrors, stalls, and stewards
Mon, Sep 7 2015For the first day-and-a-half of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix weekend, everything went to blueprint: Mercedes in front, Ferrari lurking, everyone else scrambling in their usual orders behind. Then qualifying came, and someone stirred the pot. About the only thing we expected was for Lewis Hamilton to put his Mercedes-AMG Petronas on pole position, the 11th time he's done it this year. He did it with a brand-new specification engine, one that represents not only an evolution in components, but also in power unit philosophy. Kimi Raikkonen lines up in second. It's been a long time since we read those words; the Iceman hasn't been on the first row since the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix, when he put his Lotus second on the grid behind... Lewis Hamilton. Raikkonen lined up just ahead of a Ferrari at that China race, then driven by Fernando Alonso. In Italy this weekend, he lined up in front of the Ferrari driven by his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, who qualified third. Both Ferraris benefitted from an upgraded power unit, ending a front-row drought for the scuderia that goes all the way back to Monaco in 2009 Germany in 2012. Nico Rosberg has a lot of work to do from fourth in the second Mercedes-AMG Petronas. Mercedes discovered a problem with Rosberg's engine but couldn't figure out the cause, so he reverted to the previous-spec engine he used in Belgium, one that's six races old. The lack of power hurt. Williams teammates Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas took fifth and sixth, with Massa seemingly given a team-ordered helping hand. Williams told Bottas to tow Massa down the front straight, giving Massa a blistering time in the first sector. Then Bottas did it again, ensuring he would line up behind Massa. The first Sahara Force India of Sergio Perez nabbed seventh, three places ahead of teammate Nico Hulkenberg in tenth, with Romain Grosjean in the Lotus behind Perez in eighth. Marcus Ericsson in the Sauber qualified ninth, but some clumsy driving saw him impede Hulkenberg twice. The stewards penalized Ericsson with a three-place grid penalty and two points on his superlicense, so Hulkenberg inherited ninth and Pastor Maldonado in the second Lotus inherited tenth. We hardly saw Hamilton during the race, because he led from the start, worked up a larger gap to second place on every lap, and didn't give up the lead for the whole event.
