This is one of 250 SLK280s built commemorating the 10th anniversary of the SLK model, first introduced in 1998.
It's in brilliant Iridium Silver with a black leather interior, hi-lited with red decorative stitching, exclusive commemorative
wheels, Air Scarf and the EDITION 10 badging. I purchased it as a Mercedes Certified Preowned Vehicle from a local
Mercedes dealer,I have clean New Hampshire title (no liens ) in hand. The car is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 which gives it
stunning performance due to its low weight and agility due to staggered tires, 225 x 45 front and 245 x 40 rear. It is equipped
with seven speed automatic with paddle shifters and consistently delivers 29/30 MPG hiway (observed) on cruise control,
well above the legal limit. It has a premium stereo with cd changer and lifetime Sirius satellite radio service.
I am the second owner and it has received top notch service at a local Mercedes dealer. I have all service records.
It has 50 K miles and 3600 since "E" service. It is mint condition inside and out. There are no dents, no scratches,
never an accident, nonsmoker, only saw rain when caught out in it, and nary a snowflake, always garaged. Clean Car Fax.
All accessories operate perfectly including the retractable hard top.
It's time to move on and find it a new home, with someone that will appreciate and take care of it as it will soon be a serious collectable. . .

Mercedes AMG GT3 racecar due in 2016

Sun, Nov 23 2014

Our life with the Mercedes-AMG GT has only just begun, and a full life it looks like it will be. The latest in preposterous two-doors from AMG is launching in GT and GT S flavors, but a few more branches of the family tree are already planned: a racing entry for the FIA GT3 championship is scheduled to appear in 2016, giving the current SLS AMG GT3 another year to gobble up victories before it takes a drive across the Styx. More exciting for those who only suit up on Sunday for church, whispers are that a we'll also get a streetable version of the race car - not called "GT3" because that alphanumeric is owned by Porsche, but definitely aimed at its Stuttgart rival. AMG boss Tobias Moers told Autocar the objective for that car is "more power, less weight, better aerodynamics and different suspension but the targets should be the power to weight ratio, drivability, lap time and tremendous feel." Those targets will be aided by a carbon fiber weight-loss regime of up to 220 pounds and more power - perhaps 550 horsepower - from the currently "very understressed" engine. Supposing that still isn't enough for you, then the Black Series version should curl your toes, if you can wait until 2018 for it.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.

Mercedes rolls out the long red carpet for new Maybach S600 Pullman [w/video]

Tue, Mar 3 2015

Remember when the S-Class was the S-Class and that was it? The pinnacle of the Mercedes-Benz lineup, at least as far as sedans were concerned. But those days are long behind us. Now there's a coupe as well (bringing the former CL back into the fold), a convertible on its way, the uber-luxe Maybach limo and this: the new Pullman. The creme de la creme of the Silver Star range, His Excellency Field Marshall Dr. Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Dada – as it's known in full, at least with the twelve-cylinder engine – is... well, it's enormous. It's bigger than the old Maybach 62 it essentially replaces and bigger even than an extended-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom. And why would you need a vehicle so large? Well, you wouldn't. And neither would we. But there are some, shall we call them "unelected heads of state" who would accept no less. They're the customers who favored the original, and 50 years later, they're the ones who'll be snapping up the new one. (The little wavy flags on the front fenders are optional.)
