2001 MERCEDES SLK 230 odometer: 54550 VIN: WDBKK49F01F183074 6 speed manual transmission

BLACK 2001 MERCEDES SLK 230 HARDTOP CONVERTABLE W/ 54K MILES ONLY. SPORT MODEL W/ AMG WHEELS AND 6 SPD MANUAL TRANSMISSION. CAR IS IN GREAT SHAPE. CARFAX AND MERCEDES PERFORMED MAINTENANCE SERVICE RECORDS WILL BE PROVIDED. BLACK LEATHER HEATED SEATS. 6 CD CHANGER 6 SPKR SOUND SYSTEM, A/C, CRUISE, LOW MILES ON LOW PROFILE TIRES.

Vehicle drives great, engine runs fine, transmission shifts smoothly, AC blows cold, convertible top works great, interior is in great condition and car is ready for the next 150K miles.

Paint is in very good condition, no rust, with some small barely visible surface scratches only. The car SHINES. It was garaged for most of its life. The leather seats have no rips or tears with minimal wear for a car this old. No smokers in car. The largest flaw is a glove box that is worn with some peeling on the surface. The rest of the interior is very good.  If you could find a replacement glove box door the interior would be fantastic. It’s an outstanding car with a lot of visual appeal and one of the best designs by Mercedes. The desirable Sport model comes with the larger AMG wheels and sport body style.

I am the third owner and bought it as a Mercedes certified pre-owned vehicle in 2005. All scheduled maintenance has been performed by a Mercedes dealer. It was in one minor reported accident when I damaged the front air-dam and bumper. It was professionally repaired and I have records.

THIS VEHICLE IS SUPERIOR WITH MUCH LOWER MILES THAN 90% OF SIMILAR AGE SLK’s ON THE MARKET AND IS PRICED FAIRLY AND ACCORDINGLY. PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER WITH THAT IN MIND. THANK YOU

2016 Italian Grand Prix race recap

Mon, Sep 5 2016

The Italian Grand Prix at Monza is called the Temple of Power. Furthermore, the winning driver in Italy started on pole in 13 of the last 16 years, and only one driver in that time has won the Italian GP from behind the front row of the grid: Rubens Barrichello in 2002 and 2009. By this point in the current Formula 1 season (era?) we know what it means when a track emphasizes both power and pole position: Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The Silver Arrows locked out the front row with Lewis Hamilton on pole. A poor start prevented the Briton from capitalizing on the advantage, so teammate Nico Rosberg and four other drivers swept by him before the end of the second turn. Mercedes would later say a clutch issue caused Hamilton's botched start, but that didn't help the man who'd just fallen to sixth place. Rosberg got about two laps of television coverage on his way to an unbothered victory ahead of Hamilton. Ferrari made Hamilton's second-place finish easier by sticking to a two-stop strategy; both Mercedes drivers pitted once. We aren't sure why Ferrari didn't at least attempt a one-stopper once Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen had been gifted second and third on track. A pit stop took about 23 seconds from entry to exit and Vettel finished third, six seconds behind Hamilton. Raikkonen finished fourth, another seven seconds behind Vettel. Perhaps the Scuderia's tire usage wouldn't allow longer stints, but we'll never know. Daniel Ricciardo wielded his Red Bull like a scalpel to make an impeccable pass on Valtteri Bottas in the Williams and take fifth place. Ricciardo, trailing another Italian province behind, somehow closed the gap on Bottas in just the braking zone of Turn 1, pulling alongside near the apex without locking a wheel on entry nor running wide on exit. Bottas claimed sixth ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez in the Force India, Felipe Massa in the second Williams, and Nico Hulkenberg in the second Force India sealing the top ten. Monza did spring a few on-track surprises. Esteban Gutierrez drove Haas F1 into Q3 for the first time this season, the Mexican setting the sixth-best time in Q2. Manor Racing planned for Monza all season, Pascal Wehrlein repaying the effort by qualifying 13th. Fernando Alonso pitted his McLaren on Lap 50 of the 53-lap race for a set of super soft Pirellis, then set the fastest lap. It's Honda's first fastest lap since 1992. The biggest moments happened off the track.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Make way for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the most wonderfully preposterous car I have ever driven.
There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.

Mercedes-AMG teases GT interior, announces fall 2014 debut

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

Mercedes-Benz opted to tease the assembled media at its post-New York Auto Show party, showing off a pair of images of the exquisitely crafted interior of the highly anticipated successor of the SLS AMG - the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG GT.
Slated for a debut in the fall at either Paris or Los Angeles (we're betting Paris), you'll note straight away that there's something wrong with this car's name. Where's the "Benz?" Well, it's been ditched to, as Mercedes says, "make the dream of the authentic Mercedes-AMG sports car come true." Sorry Karl.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before," said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.
