I purchased this car on Ebay from Olympic Motors of Hicksville, Ny in Nov of 2006--I believe I am the third owner--This is one of three times she has been on the expressway--when I brought her home--3 buses and a train later--I have the original window sticker--a clear title--but alas I no longer have the great job to afford having such an expensive vehicle now.  She is 14 years old and things are starting to happen--I have no one to help me with her.  Issues--front plastic spoiler at bottom of grill under the license plate is cracked in the middle--she needs tires--she needs brakes--she needs good wipers--there is a lite out on the passenger front I think the fog light--driver's side window is not wanting to go all the way up--goes down great but needs a lot of coaxing to get back up--the outside temp gauge is broken and stuck on minus 36 degrees--ashtray is broke--yep I smoke in her--it's the only place I can smoke now--the lighter needs a fuse which also keeps me from charging my phone--rear view mirror is weird--it has begun to turn black from the bottom up--the trunk lid hydrolic won't stay up--since I purchased her she never had a/c--that doesn't bother me much in Ohio so I never checked into getting it fixed--brake light is out on driver's side rear--the original gas cap gave up last year and I have since purchased 3 caps to no avail I cannot find the correct one with the sensors in it so for that reason the check engine light stays on--there is a scratch on the trunk lid that just appeared after a grocery shopping trip--and there is a ding over the driver's side wheel well--2 of the wheels are showing their age and there is some paint residue on the front driver's side from a woman who backed into her at the mall and a pizza driver got part of her plate for me but the cops couldn't locate her nor could my insurance--now for the good things--the interior seats are in excellent condition no cracks or rips or tears anywhere that I can see--the original MB floor mats have never been stepped on by anyone since I got her--I took floor mats to NY when I brought her home--so there are in good shape--dash and middle part of her in good shape altho on the steering wheel and around the gear shift she is beginning to age a bit--the door panels look to be in excellent condition and the top works like a charm--I have the original stereo equiptment but Olympic motors installed a new radio when  they found out I was coming to get her--they also put on new tires at that time and they are the tires that are on her now with the exception of the front--I wrecked her in 2008 but nothing major--no airbag deployment very low speed accident--Insurance took care of everything----Carbon Fiber Optic Interior Trim--telescoping steering--cruise control--garage door opener--vanity mirrors--dual beverage cup holders--excellent heater--cargo net--coin holder--remote lock--heated side mirrors--windsheild washing system and headlamp washers-night sec illimunation and the best part in the winter--heated front seats.  I drive her 8 miles one way to work--she has never been on a trip--only locally driven--almost never over 40 miles per hour--I am a cargiver for my parents so I usually use their car on the weekends---This has been the most reliable and dependable vehicle I have ever owned and if I could afford to I would keep her or buy another one--I have only had her oil changed regularly and had to put a battery in last year as the original battery died--there was another reason I took her MB WEst Chester, Ohio about 3 yrs ago but I can't for the life of me remember what it was but it wasn't very expensive so I don't think it was anything major but should be listed on a Carfax report Any question call 513-569-9657. 500.00 down at end of auction--remainder due within 3 days of close of auction  Thanx for reading and happy bidding!!!  Oh -- she has always been garaged kept

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Elephant with an itch to scratch uses cars for relief

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Sometimes in life you, get an itch in a place that you need some help to scratch it. That feeling apparently goes for elephants as well as humans. A pachyderm at the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand recently had some serious comfort in its rump. Unfortunately, the giant animal chose several passing vehicles to alleviate the problem. Things start out rather cute with the elephant rubbing its enormous behind on a Mercedes-Benz. However, another vehicle apparently doesn't provide the same level of relief. The animal seems to grow annoyed and starts taking the sedan apart with at least one person inside. The experience must have been mammothly terrifying. According to BBC News, no one was injured, and the odd behavior is being blamed on a result of the elephant's mating season. Male elephants, as well as other male pachyderms, go through a period called the musth, when testosterone levels rise to several times greater than normal in preparation for the mating season. It makes the elephant aggressive, irritable and yes, itchy.

Weekly Recap: An '80s encore in the auto world

Sat, Jul 11 2015

The '80s returned in a big way this week, as National Lampoon's, Ghostbusters, Miami Vice, and even Tetris were back in the news. While there were far more serious topics (see below), nostalgia mingled with modern marketing to put these Reagan-era favorites back in the spotlight. The '80s were alternately cold and corny at times, but their cultural touchstones can still generate big money. That's why Infiniti recreated an iconic scene from National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) for an advertisement that hawks the QX60 crossover. Actor Ethan Embry, who played Rusty Griswold in a later Lampoon's movie, pilots the Infiniti – which is serving as a modern Family Truckster – for a trip to Walley World. A blonde pulls alongside in a red Lamborghini. They flirt, and she drives on. Christie Brinkley, who played the original girl in the red sports car (she drove a Ferrari in the '83 flick), is riding shotgun and chides Embry with: "A blonde. In a convertible. Seriously?" Okay, it's hardly on the level of "here's looking at you," or even "you can't handle the truth," but it should resonate with '80s babies, many of whom are now having children of their own and moving into three-row SUVs like the QX60. Naturally, Hollywood is going back to the well, too, with a Vacation remake that premiers July 29. Meanwhile, Ghostbusters is returning next year, and director Paul Feig offered a peak at the new Eco-1 in this tweet. In the 1984 classic, the team drove a modified 1959 Cadillac. Now, it will drive a late '80s Cadillac. As expected, the announcement generated support and controversy from movie and car enthusiasts. His tweet had generated several thousand retweets and favorites in the days following the news. Though the '80s Caddy looks, uh, less elegant in comparison to the now-iconic fins and curves of the original Ecto-1, it's about the same time lapse into the past as the '59 Caddy was to viewers in 1984. Speaking of 1984, Miami Vice, which debuted that year on NBC, is seeing one of its hero cars hit the auction block, Mecum Auctions announced this week. The 1986 Ferrari used on the show will be offered for sale Aug. 15 during Monterey classic car week. The white supercar runs a 390-hp flat 12-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and was in storage after the show ended in 1989 until earlier this year. It has 16,124 miles on the odometer and is authenticated by Ferrari North America and Classiche.
