------------------ For sale is a completely restored (original factory parts) 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SL Roadster. The body of car has 265,000 miles with no rust. Motor and drive-train has been rebuilt with new timing chain and valve job done to heads. There is a new Alpine stereo with amplifier with new front and rear speakers. The car has been dynamatted for lower road noise and stereo. 4 new Michelin tires, shocks, front and rear rotors & pads have been replaced with break flush. While front breaks being serviced installed new front hub bearings. New catalytic converter. New expansion tank. European style headlight with HID system installed. Two new fuel pumps. Replaced fuel filter. All weather stripping on soft top and rear soft top hatch has been replaced. New battery & starter. Hard top is in same condition as the car and the car will come with the hard top stand (for storing the hard top). |

New details emerge on forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC
Sat, 02 Feb 2013Last we heard, the Mercedes-Benz SLC had been put on indefinite hold, but now Car Magazine is reporting that the Porsche 911-fighting "Baby SLS" coupe could be on sale by 2015. Riding on a modified SLS AMG chassis, the smaller and lighter SLC could be priced in the sub-$100,000 price bracket.
We'd already heard that the new car would feature conventional doors (instead of SLS-like gullwing doors), but this report focuses on some of the possible powertrains Mercedes-Benz is likely to use. At launch, the SLC could offer a pair of V8-powered models - a 485-horsepower SLC and a 585-hp SLC S - both being powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. About a year after launch, a new V6 model could emerge giving the SLC an estimated 333 horsepower and its lowest price point.
It also sounds like the car's name hasn't been completely finalized as some people within Mercedes are favoring a return of the SLR name.

Mercedes-AMG GT attacks Circuit of the Americas
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Mercedes-Benz is having a banner year with its Formula One team. Through 2014, the constructor has 454 championship points; ahead of its nearest competitor (Red Bull-Renault) by a margin of 182 tally marks. We're sure they can almost taste the champagne.
It's fitting then, and a little big cocky in a good way, that Mercedes has released a video of its newest sports car at an F1 venue. In this case, the car is the lovely Mercedes-AMG GT S, and the racetrack is Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Having seen the official photo set and scratched the surface of the technical specifications earlier this week, we're excited to finally hear the thing run. As you might guess, the deployment of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V8 is a motivating experience. Crank up your volume, and hit that play button. (Oh, and Mercedes shot the thing in 4K, too, so those of you with expensive televisions/monitors should take heed to the settings.)
