2003 Mercedes SL500Brabus Edition (Robb Report’s 2002 Car of the Year) VIN #:WDBSK75F03F042547 ONLY 28k meticulously cared for miles, NO excuses!!! A Steal at $32,450 (don't be seen in just another SL500 out there, be noticed!) 2003 MercedesSL500 Brabus Edition, ONLY 28k miles, mint in and out all service done, needs nothing! I am starting a new company, a cost intensive endeavor, and sadly must sell the toys. The car came to me from its original owner who is of like mind on how to care for and maintain such a precious piece of art. Black on black with wood accents this is a rare and sought after Brabus find, confirmed through Brabus USA. In addition to approximately $30k of Brabus upgrades the car is loaded; Bose Audio with CD changer and iPod/MP3 input, Navigation with updated discs that cover the entire US, Xenon HID lights, power-heated-memory seats as well as power everything else! Brabus package; 6.3 Biturbo front bumper with quad fog and driving lights and bright mesh lower air intake, aerodynamic side skirts with courtesy entrance illumination (very cool see pics), rear deck lid spoiler, Brabus logo appliques trunk and side, aluminum pedal pads, Brabus monoblock VI double spoke design silver polished wheels, Brabus sports exhaust system with middle and rearsilencer-fully stainless steel with quad sloping tailpipes (the sound is wonderful, low and throaty but discretely noninvasive…just right). In addition, the windows have been tinted with 3M lifetime guarantee tint and the front side-marker lights were replaced with tinted ones to make them disappear when not on. All of this combined delivers a tastefully unique eye catching car. Not overly or awkwardly done like so many but in a “wow that is a really sharp car!” kind of way, which I hear regularly. As you can see by the pictures, cosmetically the car is what you would expect from a 28kmile enthusiast owned car, no dents, dings, scratches. The leather and interior surfaces are the same, all in excellent shape. Mechanically, CA SMOG, four wheel alignment and full service has been performed with 8,600 miles before next service is due. Tires are in great shape with lots of tread, Michelin Pilot Sports, 285-30 ZR19 rear and 255-35 ZR 19’s front. CarFax and AutoCheck from Experian are super clean and rank the car superior to similar vehicle scores. The car comes complete with two keys, all manuals, nav discs, trunk netting, wind screen and cover plus original 2003 Mercedes-Benz dealership sales brochure, Robb Report Car of the Year cover and article reprint as well as RobbReport Brabus feature reprint. You will not find more clean and complete package.

Brabus spools up new 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe
Wed, Mar 4 2015With a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 cranking out 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe is not the first vehicle we'd figure was in need of an upgrade. But the folks over at Brabus have evidently felt otherwise, bringing the 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe to the Geneva Motor Show this year. Now the name might be slightly misleading, but not by much: the revving heart of this beast has been bored out to 5.9 liters and its output raised to 838 horsepower (by our standards). The modified engine also includes new turbochargers, breathing apparati and a remapped ECU to produce an even more prodigious 1,069 pound-feet of torque – although to keep the whole thing from going up in flames, Brabus has limited that last figure to 848 lb-ft. The top speed has been limited to "only" 217 miles per hour to keep the tires from melting, but it'll reach 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. That makes this bahn-stormer blisteringly fast, though the seven-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system have been left largely unchanged. Naturally that's not the end of the story, as the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe also features a full new carbon-fiber aero kit, wheel options ranging from 18 inches to 22, a completely refitted interior and oh, so much more. Chances are you'll never see one sitting still, so you'll want to scope it out in the slideshow of live images from the floor of the Geneva Palexpo for a closer look. Related Video:
Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid ready for 'major role' in urban areas
Fri, Jan 17 2014We finally got a clear look at the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall, but it took until this week to learn what the vision (see what we did there) is that Mercedes-Benz has for the PHEV. Despite it's generous size, Mercedes thinks this is a vehicle that will work well in urban areas. Speaking to members of the media during the Detroit Auto Show, Thomas Weber, Daimler AG management board member and research and development chief for Mercedes-Benz cars, said that the S500 PHEV, "will play a major role in congested areas" and that it will offer "a lot of driving pleasure." Part of that pleasure will come from a 0-62 mile-per-hour time of around 5.5 seconds thanks to a turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 and an 80-kilowatt electric motor. The PHEV also has a 19-mile EV range, which will put it at the bottom end of the Three-Pointed star plug-in lineup. The upcoming C-Class plug-in, for example, will likely go, "closer to 50 km [31 miles]," Weber said, according to Green Car Reports. The S500 PHEV will go on sale in Europe later this year and will come to the US in early 2015 but there is no timeline, yet, for the C-Class plug-in (and the standard gas-electric hybrid version) or the even-more-future E-Class hybrids. 8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015
Mon, Jan 5 2015Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
