Same owner 35 years.Always cared for by Mercedes specialist. Used only as summer car last 20
years always garaged and has never spent a night out in its entire life. Over the years the car has been maintained by the same Mercedes shop.Both hard and soft tops.However soft top is original and
does have some clouding of rear window.No rust issues and solid floors.Car is stored for winters with
mechanic and prepped each summer before use.Most recent projects have included rewiring,and brake system overhaul. The new leather interior was done about five years ago.The clock however
stopped this spring. Since the car is always used with the hard top off and top down I have not replaced the faulty AC compressor or the central locking vacuum lines so as noted these items are
not working and since the cruise control uses vacuum this too is inop.
This was the first year of the 450SL.and 2nd of this body style.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
Mercedes teams with Pebble for smartwatch tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013Most automakers have realized by now that a good infotainment system is a must-have feature for many buyers, and have, as a result, invested increasing amounts of time and money developing these technologies. But some automakers are going above and beyond in-car entertainment and navigation technology by focusing on wearable technology as well.
Nissan has emerged as one such company, developing its own alternative to Google Glass and performance-oriented smartwatch. But Mercedes-Benz is also putting itself at the forefront of wearable tech - not by developing competing products to those designed by dedicated tech companies, but by working with them. The German automaker, as we recently reported, is developing its own app for Google Glass, and is now doing the same with smartwatches as well.
Set to be unveiled at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Mercedes has collaborated with Pebble Technologies to develop the Digital DriveStyle app. The system will display tell its wearer where the car is, whether the doors are locked and if it needs fuel. Inside the car it'll alert the driver to potential hazards coming up on the road, while making functions like re-routing the nav system, controlling the audio system or activating Siri that much easier.
