For sale by owner is a 2011 Mercedes Benz AMG SL63 High Performance Roadster with very low mileage.  The car has no issues whatsoever - it is in immaculate condition inside and out.

Exterior and Interior - Matte grey exterior finish ('designo' Magno Alanite Grey), 'designo' Mystic Red leather seats, Charcoal/Black Exclusive leather dashboard with Black Alcantera headliner.

This is a Mercedes Benz Buyback vehicle - a "lemon" car from California.  Mercedes Benz remedied the vehicle and re-sold it.  I bought it from a dealer in Dallas who purchased the vehicle.  As shown on the dealer disclosure statement, the issue was an engine light that stayed on.  Mercedes Benz replaced the engine harness, which resolved the problem.  To my knowledge, there are no mechanical or cosmetic problems with the vehicle whatsoever.
  • Before buying, I had the local Mercedes Benz dealer inspect the vehicle for any mechanical issues - none were found.
  • I have driven the vehicle myself for more than 3,500 miles with no issues whatsoever (in fact, it's amazing to drive).
  • Finally, just last week, the car underwent it's full 10,000 mile service with no issues found (I can provide this paperwork if needed).
Vehicle does NOT have an existing warranty.

One other piece of information about this car which may or may not be relevant to a buyer...  I contacted Mercedes Benz and had them send me a copy of the Maroney (MSRP) sticker for the vehicle (see photo).  The sticker indicates that the vehicle has a factory-installed "Panorama Sunroof".  In fact, the vehicle does NOT have a panorama sunroof.  I contacted both the dealer and Mercedes Benz and neither were able to explain this discrepancy between the MSRP sticker and the vehicle itself.

On a positive note, I had brand new original Mercedes Benz illuminated AMG door sills installed (again, by the local Mercedes Benz dealer).

Please look at the photo of the Maroney sticker to see all of the Performance/Handling, Comfort/Convenience, Safety/Security and Optional Equipment features installed on the vehicle.  It is LOADED, as you would expect for a vehicle that retailed for $158K just two and a half years ago.

I'm selling the car because I'm buying a new vehicle.

Please check my perfect eBay rating and bid with confidence.

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 to debut in Monterey

Mon, Aug 15 2016

Mercedes surprised the car world last week when it teased an enormous, Maybach-badged coupe concept. Now we have a name and a debut date. Mercedes released the info in a second teaser image posted to its Facebook page. Called the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 – "Vision" equals concept and "6" denotes the length in meters – the new two-door will debut at Pebble Beach on Thursday. So yeah, here's another reason to get excited about Monterey Car Week. As for the teaser image, it's a head-on shot as opposed to the profile view that Mercedes released last week. The new view supports our theory that the super-skinny mirrors are cameras, and the shot also reveals new styling touches. The most noticeable are the very thin, un-Mercedes-like headlights – they flank a prominent, heavily polished waterfall grille that marks a significant departure from recent Mercedes products. A traditional Mercedes hood ornament sits above the grille's small "Maybach" designation. Kicking up the exposure in Photoshop doesn't reveal too much more detail – unlike last week's profile image – aside from a set of chrome strips that run along the sides of the hood. Autoblog's Monterey Car Week crew ships out for the left coast soon – expect more on the festivities, including the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6's debut, later this week. UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.
Let this be a warning...

Race recap: 2015 British Grand Prix is a testament to timing

Mon, Jul 6 2015

In front of his home crowd, Lewis Hamilton actually had to work for pole position at the British Formula One Grand Prix. The World Champion couldn't get on top of the setup for his Mercedes-AMG Petronas on Friday, lapping behind teammate Nico Rosberg and the two Ferraris. Come Saturday, after a few alterations and a whole lot of wing to clamp down on understeer, Hamilton returned to his regular program at the front, taking pole position by just over a tenth of a second from his teammate. Williams, thought to be headed for another stretch in the weeds a few races ago, showed its best strength all year. The Grove team got both cars on the second row and in front of the Ferraris, Felipe Massa qualifying ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas, but they were eight and nine tenths behind the Mercedes'. Kimi Raikkonen out-qualified Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel for the second time this year, and only the first time in a straight-up battle with two healthy cars. But more than a second behind the two cars at the front, and with two nearly-impossible-to-pass Williams' in front, neither the Finn nor the German is happy with where they are. Daniil Kvyat claimed seventh, his side of the garage at Infiniti Red Bull Racing having got through the weekend to that point without a single complaint about their Renault power unit. Carlos Sainz, Jr. put a single Toro Rosso inside the top ten in eighth position, ahead of Nico Hulkenberg who did the same for Sahara Force India by slotting in ninth. The second Infiniti Red Bull driven by Daniel Ricciardo did have an unspecified engine complaint – his car kept "bleeding power" on the straights – but even so he managed to qualify tenth with his second-fastest lap. The stewards deleted his best lap because he ran three centimeters outside the track limits at Copse, an infraction that stung a few other drivers as well. Up in front, what would sting the Mercedes-AMG Petronas drivers the most was the start. That's when a dearth of grip struck both Hamilton and Rosberg, allowing Massa and Bottas to slide right up the middle between them and take the first two places. The leapfrogging was so surprising that it looked like the Mercedes drivers were giving the Williams drivers a head start. They diced through the first corners, Hamilton sliding past Bottas into second place halfway through the lap. And then the safety car reported for duty.
