1997 Mercedes-benz Sl320 Base Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Palm Springs, California, United States
I'm a private car collector, so you know I'm legit, this isn't a scam ebay listing etc, feel free to look me up online. Go to the Website IMDB and then put in Dean England. That's who you will talk to and be buying this car from in person. Or, who your shipping company person will be meeting to get the car. As I was asked this often on another classic I sold in the last two weeks on ebay, "What's your price?" Feel free to email me your best price to end the auction now. I can then put a Buy It Now on the auction for you to click on and buy the car. This is what happened with another of my cars I sold about two weeks ago. Then, people emailed when I canceled the auction asking what happen and that they didn't get to bid and were irritated. Otherwise, I'll just let the auction go to the end, see where it goes and if not enough, put her back in climate controlled storage for awhile. 1997 Mercedes SL320 with that bullet proof Mercedes engine and last year of this model which is always great from a collector stand point. This SL 320 is in amazing condition. Purchased new in Beverly HIlls, California. Then, after a few gentle years of use, she was in such great condition she was re certified by Mercedes as up to Mercedes standards and resold by Mercedes Dealership in 2003 when she had 44,034 miles. Last year I spent about five thousand dollars having new hoses, new radiator, new fluids and whatever else recommended for a 100k service done, though the car only had 80k total miles. About 81,500 miles now. The bulk of lifetime services and repairs performed exclusively at Mercedes of Palm Springs, Mercedes of Beverly Hills and Mercedes of Anaheim. I want to be able to get into any of my cars and drive anywhere in or out of state with no issues so I am obsessive with maintenance and pre-maintenance and that it is done right regardless of cost. I've only driven a few hundred miles since this last big service was done last year. This would be from Hollywood to La Jolla (beach area of San Diego) to Palm Springs (desert area), then up to the California mountains at 6000 feet and back to LA over a few days. A well established independent shop with ASE Mercedes trained technicians did the last service. Hi Gloss exterior is stunning. Interior is immaculate. No rips, tears or cracks. Hard top and soft top are in near new condition. Rear soft top windows are clear and bright. Tires in great condition and on Mercedes AMG chrome rims. Soft top and hard top. All the parts for power top have been replaced and it works great. IMMACULATE inside and out. Even the Mercedes floor mats are spotless. And, even the front hood badge is not faded. Original books, window sticker, dealer records since new. The window sticker shows about $80,000 Just a fantastic Mercedes. I have several collector cars and am selling a few to while thinking about purchasing an exotic model I have my eye on.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Weekly Recap: Autonomous driving goes commercial in Nevada
Sat, May 9 2015Nevada granted Daimler Trucks North America the first license to run an autonomous commercial vehicle on public roads in the United States Tuesday, marking another milestone in the technology's rapid advancement. Gov. Brian Sandoval and Daimler truck chief Wolfgang Bernhard promptly used the license to lap Highway 15 near Las Vegas in a newly revealed Freightliner Inspiration Truck. It was a clear signal that autonomous driving is big-rig reality, though it's still a long way from widespread use. Nevada certified two of Daimler's Freightliner Inspiration Trucks, which use the company's Highway Pilot system with a stereo camera, radar, and lane-keeping collision-prevention features to regulate the brakes and steering. The radar component has a long-range sensor that can cover 820 feet at an 18-degree angle and a shorter-range unit that stretches 230 feet at a 130-degree angle. The Inspiration trucks are based on the existing Freightliner Cascadia Evolution model used on US roads. In addition to the autonomous technologies, it also has futuristic design cues, including blue lighting in the front and a new hood and grille. While there are only two Freightliner Inspiration trucks in existence, Daimler expects to bring the Highway Pilot system into mass-produced big rigs by 2025, in time to capitalize on the market's predicted growth. The German truckmaker predicts the global hauling market will triple by 2050, and the United States will be a key part of that growth. Trucks carry 69.1 percent the nation's domestic freight tonnage and hauled 9.7 billion tons of freight in 2013, according to the American Trucking Association. Daimler expects autonomous driving to augment this growth, and perhaps evolve the role of the truck driver. Still, the company points out autonomous tech is not meant to replace drivers, but to assist them and relieve fatigue and monotony on long hauls. The driver has to stay in control for passing, in city traffic, and when hooking up the trailer. The company said autonomous driving also offers the potential for improved fuel economy – tests showed a five-percent gain – and lower maintenance costs. Daimler also said the technology could reduce congestion on the road. Much of this is attributable to the constant flow of traffic, which is aided by autonomous driving. While the benefits are becoming increasingly apparent, autonomous technology is still met with skepticism.
Next Mercedes-Benz C-Class spotted in the snow
Mon, 11 Mar 2013The entry-level Mercedes-Benz C-Class has long felt like nothing more than, well, just that. Aside from the potent and delicious C63 AMG models, there hasn't been much to set the C-Class apart in the entry-level luxury/sport segment, leading to the model being regarded by many as "The Cheap Mercedes." No, it's certainly not a bad car, but for our money, it hasn't stood up particularly well to competitors like the BMW 3 Series or Audi A4.
So with the handsome new CLA-Class coming to round off the entry-level end for Mercedes-Benz, big plans are in store for the C-Class. We can see some evidence of that in this latest set of spy shots from our friends at CarPix. According to earlier reports, the new C-Class will be "far more dramatic" in the visuals department, and while the sedan's sculpting is still covered by camo, the much sleeker headlamp design we see here is, at the very least, a good start. The car's overall size is expected to grow a bit to further distance itself from the CLA, though thanks to lightweight materials, curb weight isn't expected to increase.
Just like the current model, the new C-Class is expected to use four- and six-cylinder engines, both gas- and diesel-fed, and overall power output for the global engine range should span from 120-ish on the low end to as much as 330. These new engines are expected to be mounted lower and farther rearward than before, offering better balance for both rear- and 4Matic all-wheel drive configurations. And as for that AMG? Rumors suggest a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 will fall underhood.
