Last chance to own this beautiful classic convertible. Price listed is the minimum selling price. It is also the payoff amount owed to my credit union. This is a two owner car. Previous original owner had the car since new and I have owned it for the past 15 months putting roughly 1800 miles on the car. I can no longer afford to have this beautiful car sit and do nothing while I am making payments on it. I have all original books, two remote keys and some service records. Car is all original down to the spare tire! I would like to say that this is one of the nicest 1991 Mercedes Benz 500SLs in the United States. Everything works well except A/C does not blow as cold as it should. Virtually no wear on the inside or outside. Expect 2 - 3 scratches and one ding (if you can find them). Mercedes-Benz GLK coupe to get 2016 intro
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Radio chatter around the emerging small, premium crossover coupe genre has thus far been dominated by the Land Rover Evoque and the Mini Paceman. According to a report in Car, the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class (shown above) has received its invitation to the party and will spend the next three years getting ready: it's said that two-door variant of the crisply-angled CUV is coming in 2016, along with a redesign befitting its sleeker intentions.
To be based on the MRA platform - the rear-drive version of the company's three new modular platforms, it will also support the coming 2013 S-Class and could eventually get an AMG version to help it compete with segment offerings like the forthcoming Porsche Macan. Not much else is known about it beyond its name: Car says it will be called the GLC, a friendly nomenclature we remember best as a Mazda hatchback (allegedly for "Good Little Car"). Internet oldtimers may remember the Mazda GLC as the predecessor to the 323 (which in turn came before today's Mazda3). Either way, the GLC is not to be confused with the larger upcoming BMW X6 rival based on the ML-Class (reportedly called GLS) which is also said to still be in the works, or the front-drive based GLA, a model also edging toward production.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
