EXTERIOR

Originally Dolphin Gray color, it was re-sprayed red by the previous owner.

The paint is presentable and has lots of shine but there is overspray on some

of the chrome. The only areas that I see rust on

the car is below the passenger side rear quarter panel below the gas

Cap lid area, about 2 inches long x .38 wide. The front passenger front

fender close to the headlight assy there are 4 small bubbles about 1/8 in diameter.

The rest of the body is very straight, the gap on the doors to

rear quarter panels to the trunk are perfect.

The canvas top is in excellent condition…! The rear plastic windows

Are clear and not yellow or faded. The rear bumper chorme blade

The chrome is peeling off. Please view photos carefuly.

There is a small scratch on the front driver side front fender as

Shown in one of the photos. Also there are some scratches in the area

Where the hard top sits on the car.

The chrome wheels are aftermarket and are in good condition.

The tires have about 50% of thread on them.

INTERIOR

As I observe the interior the leather seats are clean and there

Are no tears on them. The door panels are very clean and the

Chrome on the handles is nice. The carpets are very presentable

The carpet on the middle console has some stains on them.

The dash has been cover with an after market cover and there

Are 2 small cracks on the dash close to where the windshield

Meets the dash. The car heater works great and the RPM, speedometer,

signal lights, horn, high beams low beams, brake

Lights, temperature gauge are in good working order.

The instruments lights on the speedometer cluster are

 not working.

The power window switches are in good working order…!

The car has an after market keyless entry alarm that is

In great working condition.

ENGINE BAY

The engine has great power on the highway, the brakes were recently

Replaced by the previous owner. The rear back interior carpet is in

Great condition. The car comes with an aftermarket AM/FM CD Player

In good working order. The power antenna works well but it not chrome finish.

TRUNK AREA

The trunk area is clean and there is only a small area of surface

Rust where the spare tire sits, about 1 inch long, the side inner panels are not

rusted. The car is missing the tool bag kit.

BOTTOM OF THE CAR

As I looked carefully on the under carriage of the car I did not see ANY RUST

on it. Very solid car…!

The hard top is in excellent condition but again there is some overspray on some of

the aluminum trim pieces. The car has a brand new catalytic converter as well as a

new bosch oxygen sensor.

This car comes with a California, clean title and also a new smog certificate to register

the car if the car is sold here in California.

2016 German Grand Prix race recap: so-so racing, great questions

Mon, Aug 1 2016

We can summarize the 2016 German Grand Prix in one sentence: Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton started second on the grid, passed pole-sitter and teammate Nico Rosberg before the first corner, and dominate to the finish. In fact, Hamilton turned his engine power output down on Lap 3 and still took the checkered flag seven seconds ahead of Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo's teammate Max Verstappen crossed the line another six seconds back. Rosberg fell to fourth at the first corner and couldn't find the pace to reel in the Red Bulls. His questionable pass on Verstappen didn't help when the stewards penalized Rosberg five seconds; the overtake reminded us of Rosberg's move on teammate Hamilton in Austria. That penalty turned into eight seconds when the Mercedes-AMG Petronas stopwatch didn't work in the pits. Ferrari pilots Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth and sixth. Those six drivers all started in the top six, too. Behind them, on Lap 28 of the 67-lap race the next four drivers were Valtteri Bottas in the Williams, Nico Hulkenberg in the Force India, and Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso in McLarens. Low fuel and old tires put the kibosh on Alonso's pace just four laps from the finish, allowing Force India's Sergio Perez to pass, rounding out the top ten. The issues up for debate during the four-week break are far more interesting than the weekend's race. As bad as Ferrari's day might have been – and we'll get to that – Rosberg probably took the biggest hit, losing the race before the first corner for the second weekend in a row and falling 19 points behind Hamilton. Rosberg won the first four races of the season, then the teammates tripped over one another in Spain. Hamilton's won six of the seven races since Spain, Rosberg's best result in that time is a second-place in Hungary. Hamilton turned his engine down on Lap 3 (!) because he's used his entire season's allotment of five turbochargers and five MGU-Ks. Those early-season gremlins now have him on edge of grid penalties. Unless Hamilton's momentum cools off in August, however, that reliability danger might be the only dent in his armor. Rosberg, who once led the Championship by 43 points, will surely drown in his thoughts – and maybe schnapps – over the summer break. Whatever the Italian word for "meditation" is, there'll be a lot of it at Ferrari during the F1 summer break.

Daimler boss says fuel cell vehicles will be disappointing for at least 10 years

Tue, Jan 21 2014

Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche is pretty confident about the imminence of self-driving cars. Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles? Not so much. He didn't even get into the possibility of self-driving fuel-cell vehicles, but we're okay taking future technologies one at a time. Zetsche, in an interview from the Detroit Auto Show last week, said the automotive industry is about a decade away from avoiding disappointing experiences with production fuel-cell vehicles, In Auto News says. Zetsche was quick to note that the Mercedes-Benz parent entered into a fuel-cell partnership with Ford and Nissan early last year in an effort to split costs and speed things along, with the expectation that the group would develop something together by 2017, but even that won't be able to smooth things out fully. Toyota and Hyundai have said they'd have their own production vehicles on the road sooner than that. Multi-corporation-partnerships notwithstanding, Zetsche bemoaned the high costs, lack of vehicle volume and minimal refueling infrastructure as the proverbial roadblocks to more rapid development and adoption of fuel-cell vehicles. As it is, the US has just 10 publicly accessible hydrogen refueling stations, eight of which are in Southern California, according to the US Department of Energy. As for autonomous automobiles, Zetsche was more upbeat. Daimler already has what it calls the "Distronic" cruise control system that includes an automatic braking feature and has successfully driven a car 60 miles with "with relatively modest adjustments to the existing onboard technology." VW, Fiat, Mercedes could be CNG winners in Europe

Fri, Dec 12 2014

Fiat ads in the US try to play up the exotic, sexy side of Italian culture. On the home front in Italy, however, passenger-vehicle sales are marked by something less edgy and quite a bit more practical: the growth of compressed-natural-gas (CNG) powered car sales. In fact, Italy is leading a group of European countries where CNG sales are on the upswing and may be benefiting automakers like VW, Fiat and Mercedes-Benz, according to Automotive News. VW started sales of its Golf TGI natural-gas vehicle this year – the company's fourth in Europe – while Mercedes-Benz added a natural-gas B-class model. Fiat accounts for about 50 percent of CNG vehicles sold on the continent. In all, Europe's CNG sales through September totaled about 67,000, up seven percent from a year earlier, Automotive News Europe says, citing research firm JATO Dynamics. And the number of CNG vehicles on Europe's roads could jump tenfold within the next decade. The draw is a combination of lower refueling prices and a CNG drivetrain that typically emits less CO2 than diesel vehicles. As for Italy, about five percent of new-vehicle sales are CNG. To put that into perspective, hybrids, battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and diesels combined to account for about 4.2 percent of US vehicle sales last year.
