You are viewing a beautiful 1980 Mercedes 280 SL european model with only 69K original miles, which has all the service history paperwork since the car was brand new. This car was originally bought in Atlanta, Ga and then it went to North Carolina where the second family has owned it since. This car is a beautiful red with black leather. The paint is shiny all over and looks like new. It has only a few tiny chips that were touched up. The leather interior looks like new as well and shows no major wear. The carpets are clean and look new and still have the original floor mats that also look like new, as well. The dash looks pristine with no cracks, and the wood is also in excellent condition. This car is rare. It had power windows installed at the dealer using factory components when it was new since all 280 sl's are manual roll up window. In addition, the car still has the original cranks. It also had cruise control installed with a factory cruise unit and comes with its own manual for operation, which is located in the center wood above climate control. The AC is ice cold. Mechanically, this is the best 107 I have ever owned. It has a lot of power and drives better than the 560 SL This engine is a monster. It starts right up. Idles very smooth and takes off like a sports car. Recently, I had a lot of service done on this car including: installing new Michelin tires, new brakes, new sway bar links. In addition, there was a full tune up done including wires, spark plugs, gaskets, brake fluid flush and radiator flush. This car needs nothing. I drove it home from North Carolina, and it was an amazing drive. It just wanted to keep going and was so smooth holding the road like a new car. The car was always babied and garage kept. It still has the original soft top on it, which is unheard of. It's in excellent condition and has only one slight crack in the corner of the right rear plastic window. I wanted to leave it since its original and not that big of a deal . The hard top is in excellent condition and has the factory stand and also a car cover comes with it . The last owner was a woman who loved this car and maintained it to the highest standard. She passed away, and I bought it from her daughter who is in her late 60's. Since she never drove it and didn't want the car to sit, I bought it and now I am hoping it will go to a proud new owner. I have a lot of service. All the books 2 keys, tool kit, original window cranks, car cover , and medical kit is also un touched . I don't think you will find a better car out there for the money . This car needs nothing except a new home. Please read my feed back as I take pride in finding the best Mercedes Classic cars and detailing them to the highest standard. Bid with confidence summer is almost here and this car is ready to be enjoyed. . Steve 954-464-3515

2015 Spanish F1 Grand Prix makes its Deutsche mark
Mon, May 11 2015The first race of the European Formula One season inaugurates the second phase of the Championship. Teams overhaul their cars with the big updates they've been working on since Australia, and at the end of The Battle of Spain we find out how the positions on the field have changed. Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg brought a big update to his psychology, straight-up beating teammate Lewis Hamilton to take his first pole position of the season. Mercedes owns the front row and Ferrari maintains its status as primary challenger, Sebastian Vettel lining up in third. Williams proved it's been hitting the books to do better in class, though, Valtteri Bottas slotting into fourth. And Toro Rosso's visit to a track that rewards strong aero rewarded them with the best team grid position since the Italian Grand Prix in 2008: Carlos Sainz secured fifth, ahead of Max Verstappen in sixth. Kimi Raikkonen's bout of Saturday woes – it seems the Finn is always handicapped by lots of tiny issues – continued in Barcelona with one of his sets of prime tires getting cooked by malfunctioning tire warmers. He recovered well enough to take seventh on the grid, but he's got some strong competition ahead of him. He led three other drivers in the Continuous Issues department, Daniil Kvyat unable to wrestle his Infiniti Red Bull Racing higher than eighth, Williams driver Felipe Massa getting it wrong in Turn 3 to fall five places behind his teammate Bottas, and Daniel Ricciardo in the second Red Bull enduring another engine change and sloppy car behavior to get tenth. And while it turned out to be a steady race a little rough around the edges, the positions on the battlefield just might have changed. A little. Of the 66 laps in the race we might have seen Rosberg for three of them – maybe. The German got a smashing start, had a clear lead into Turn 1, and after that we checked in occasionally during his two pit stops and again at the checkered flag. He owned the entire weekend the way we're used to seeing his teammate do, and the cameras left him alone to run his race. No one got within seven seconds of him during the first third, and as the pit stop strategies played out that cushion grew. He finished seventeen seconds ahead of Hamilton, and 45 seconds ahead of third-placed Vettel. Hamilton, on the back foot all three days, stumbled out of the gate.
Mercedes C111 concept in commercial spoof A Fistful of Wolves
Fri, Jan 16 2015A Fistful of Wolves is a spoof of fashion advertising, commissioned by Mercedes-Benz to spread a cheeky word about Berlin Fashion Week. Yet, in the lampooning of sartorial gobbledygook, plenty of automotive advertising gets doused with cold water, too - like the ads that subscribe to the importance of being earnest (looking at you Matthew McConaughey and Kate Walsh), or the ones that try to convey just how unimaginably cool you'll be once you've jumped into the three-year-lease hole (looking at you, um... Mercedes-Benz and every other German luxury brand). We appreciate a brand that can make fun of itself, though. Led by Australian Justin O'Shea driving the Mercedes C111 through Berlin, it's beautiful satire as O'Shea tries to be fashion-forward while his friends go on about their daily lives, wondering why he never seems to be listening until he's offered cake, or why he's trying to walk in slow motion. Check it out in the video above. News Source: Mercedes-Benz via YouTube, Car and Driver Celebrities Humor Marketing/Advertising Mercedes-Benz Coupe Concept Cars Videos spoof
Mercedes dealers authorized to spend $2,500 on perks for S-Class customers
Mon, 02 Dec 2013If you drop $100,000 on a luxury sedan, it seems only reasonable to receive some preferential treatment at the dealership you purchased from. After all, that price isn't just for the car - you're paying for the brand and all the cachet that entails. For Mercedes-Benz, those benefits have apparently been lacking relative to the German brand's luxury competitors.
That's set to change, though, as Automotive News reports that the German brand is placing a much greater emphasis on keeping its customers happy and loyal with its MB Select program. Starting with the new S-Class and spreading to the CLA-Class (and eventually beyond), dealers are being given money - up to $2,500 in the case of the flagship sedan - just to improve the customer experience.
We agree, improving the "customer experience" is quite a vague term, so it's nice that Mercedes USA's CEO, Steve Cannon, offered up some examples to AN at the LA Auto Show. For example, a customer couldn't fit his sunglasses into the overhead compartment. "So we bought him a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that fit because of their shape," Cannon said.
