Please Read Carefully!

This Mercedes ML430 has been a great vehicle and has been well taken care of over the years. This has been my wife’s vehicle and she has driven it for several years up until two weeks ago when she started the car to go run errands and the windows started going up and down and the door locks began clicking, the dash displays begin flashing and the vehicle began having a strange electrical smell inside the car so she turned it off and that was it, the car will not crank over or start now. I am not sure what happened and there was never any smoke inside or outside of the vehicle, it just does not respond (windows, locks, and dash lights) when the key turns to the on position. Obviously some electrical issue has happened that is preventing the car from starting and the electronics from working.

As you can see by the photos the Mercedes has been very well cared for and it shows, it has always driven and run great! It was running without issues up to this moment, we have never had any serious issues with the car until now. We do not smoke so the car has always been smoke free! This engine and transmission should be fine and were working without any issues or oil leaks, the car was just inspected. The body of the car is in good shape, original paint shines, there is the normal wear and tear for a vehicle that has 158,500 miles (estimated from July Inspection Report, mileage does not light up) with the exception that some of the paint is flaking off the front bumper.

Just replaced within the last 6 months
  • Front ceramic disk brakes
  • New tie-rods
  • New windshield.

The vehicle has 17 inch chrome wheels, new projector headlights and the Bridgestone tires have plenty of tread left on them. The front bumper is the only location losing some of the paint and on the front passenger side of the bumper there is a 3 inch crack where we brushed-up against a pole at the bank drive through, other than this the exterior is in good shape. The interior is also in good shape except the normal wear and tear for a car that is this old, the driver seat is showing the most amount of wear inside the car.

This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied! If you would like to see this Mercedes you are more than welcome to do so by contacting me and scheduling an appointment. I encourage you to come see the car or contact me and ask any questions about the car before bidding!

The vehicle needs mechanical work and does not start; the winning bidder should be prepared to have it loaded on a truck or trailer to complete the transaction. Shipping is responsibility of buyer, come prepared to pick-up the vehicle or have a transportation company come and pick-up the vehicle.

The winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours on the auctions end; a $200 non-refundable deposit must be made within this 48 hour period of time. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance.

I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time before the auction ends. I also reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with low feedback or bidders with poor feedback.

Please contact James for questions or concerns at 281-467-1533.

    Thanks and good luck bidding!

Next Mercedes-Benz C-Class spotted in the snow

    Mon, 11 Mar 2013

The entry-level Mercedes-Benz C-Class has long felt like nothing more than, well, just that. Aside from the potent and delicious C63 AMG models, there hasn't been much to set the C-Class apart in the entry-level luxury/sport segment, leading to the model being regarded by many as "The Cheap Mercedes." No, it's certainly not a bad car, but for our money, it hasn't stood up particularly well to competitors like the BMW 3 Series or Audi A4.
So with the handsome new CLA-Class coming to round off the entry-level end for Mercedes-Benz, big plans are in store for the C-Class. We can see some evidence of that in this latest set of spy shots from our friends at CarPix. According to earlier reports, the new C-Class will be "far more dramatic" in the visuals department, and while the sedan's sculpting is still covered by camo, the much sleeker headlamp design we see here is, at the very least, a good start. The car's overall size is expected to grow a bit to further distance itself from the CLA, though thanks to lightweight materials, curb weight isn't expected to increase.
Just like the current model, the new C-Class is expected to use four- and six-cylinder engines, both gas- and diesel-fed, and overall power output for the global engine range should span from 120-ish on the low end to as much as 330. These new engines are expected to be mounted lower and farther rearward than before, offering better balance for both rear- and 4Matic all-wheel drive configurations. And as for that AMG? Rumors suggest a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 will fall underhood.

Recharge Wrap-up: Shift to offer Teslas for Hire, Model S P85D beats Ferrari in drag race

    Mon, Dec 15 2014

A company called Shift plans to provide bikes and EVs for hire. Based in Las Vegas, NV, Shift will provide chauffeured ride services like Uber, but will also include a car- and bike-sharing service that delivers the desired wheels to the customer. Shift's fleet will include EVs like the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive and the Tesla Model S. Shift also promises that you will, "Be on your way within five minutes," which is a pretty tall order. Shift is scheduled to be available to members beginning this fall. Read more at The Car Connection. Nissan UK has confirmed the price of replacement batteries for the Leaf. UK drivers will be able to buy new batteries for 4,920 pounds (or about $7,738). That's considerably more than the price of $5,499 for US customers. Customers get 1,000 pounds back when they exchange their old battery. The original battery is covered under a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty, and most owners will never need to replace it. According to Nissan, only three replacement batteries have been sold out of 30,000 Leafs sold in Europe. Read more at Autocar. The Tesla Model S P85D walloped a Ferrari in an impromptu drag race video. The Ferrari driver pulls up alongside the Tesla and asks, "What you got in there?" before challenging him to a race. The Ferrari gets a head start, but the Tesla pulls out ahead quickly. The video also gets the reactions of some passengers to the car's mighty acceleration. See the video below and read the account of a drag race against a Lamborghini Aventador at Car Throttle. Australian website Drive has chosen their Cars of the Year in various categories. The Tesla Model S was a carryover winner for Luxury Car Over $80,000, but the Mercedes-Benz C200 narrowly overtook it to be crowned the overall winner. Regarding the Model S, one judge says, "This makes every other EV look at least a generation behind." The main thing that held the Tesla back from winning outright was the near-term lack of charging infrastructure. The judges did note Tesla's plans to build a network of Superchargers in Australia, but also pointed out that those plans exclude much of the country so far. Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

    Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
