2006 Mercedes CLS500 STRAIGHT FROM ARIZONA! Super low miles! The car is fully loaded with optional Premium Nappa Leather, Harmon Kardon Logic 7, Heated AND Cooled Front Seats, Power Rear Sunshade, Six-Disc CD changer, Active Seats with Active Bolsters, Navigation System, Automatic Climate Control, Bluetooth Package, Parktronic sensors, RARE Keyless-GO with Push-Button Start on the Shift Knob, and More! The car is absolutely beautiful! Desert Silver Metallic over Cashmere Beige. Since the car is from Arizona, there is NO under-body corrosion or rust. Never driven in snow! The car also features high-dollar, Chrome Wheels. The car will need new front tires, but the rear tires are BRAND NEW Michelin Pilot Sport A/S that cost over $700! The Vehicle is in excellent condition, but does have a couple MINOR flaws. There are filler holes in the front bumper from the license plate frame, along with a little area (about the size of a quarter) of touch up paint on the front bumper. There is also a lessor amount on the rear bumper. There are no dents in the car, except for one minor one on the trunk. The car is stunning, I am just trying to describe the car the best I can! Never been in an accident! ALL ORIGINAL PAINT! Very little road ware on the front end. The interior is also in excellent condition with less then average ware-and-tare. The car runs excellent and I recently replaced the ABS speed sensor, and I assume that the problem is fixed. I have a complete printout of the VMI and receipts for tires and NEW battery recently done. On the VMI it saids the car was purchased new with a extended warranty on the Air Suspension until Feb 2015 or 100k miles. As a sidenote, the car has NOT had 5 owners, only 3 that I know of. The Car is sold WITHOUT WARRANTY and AS-IS! The car is for-sale locally, so I have the right to end the auction at any time. $500 deposit is due within 24hrs of auction close. Local Pickup only, unless you arrange for shipping.

Aston wants to build DBX on its new platform, not Mercedes'

Mon, May 18 2015

Aston Martin is proceeding with plans to launch the DBX as its first production crossover. It just can't say at this point what it will be based on. Speaking with Automotive News Europe, Aston's new CEO Andy Palmer indicated that basing the DBX on a Mercedes SUV platform would not be its first choice because they "clearly sit in a very different space to the one we want to go" with the DBX. Instead, the company's first choice would be to build the crossover atop the new platform it's developing for its sports cars. "It just depends how high off the ground it could go," said Palmer. "I don't exclude the possibility of using some [Mercedes] parts, but I would say very much the primary route is our platform." The prospect of building an Aston SUV on Mercedes architecture – namely that of the GL-Class – has been on the table for some time now. The Lagonda SUV concept it showcased at the Geneva show in 2009 was based on the GL, and the two automakers have been forging a tightening alliance in the years since. The British automaker's next-generation engine is to be built by Mercedes-AMG, and it is expected to source other components from the German automaker as well. For its part, Mercedes has been taking a sportier approach with its latest crossovers, as demonstrated by the GLE Coupe that debuted before the more conventional version and the Concept GLC Coupe that previewed the GLK's replacement in Shanghai last month. Aston Martin, on the other hand, is building a new sports car platform that will underpin its next generation of luxury GTs, replacing the long-serving VH architecture that has served for decades as the basis for its entire model line. Perhaps the most surprising of ANE's report, though, is that Aston seems to be proceeding with plans to build the DBX apparently without even knowing what platform it will use.

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

2011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?

Mon, Feb 9 2015

North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper.
