Your bidding on a very low mileage, clean Mercedes-Benz. Here is the story behind this car. I'm currently the second owner of this vehicle. The first person lived in New Jersey and leased it for three years and put approx. 10,000 miles on the car. In 2010 the car was involved in an accident that required the front quarter panel, bumper, and I believe the hood, to be replaced. The car was repaired with MB parts and was repaired very well. There are no signs that this car was ever in an accident. It runs perfectly with no squeaks or rattles. Now for the frame/structural issue listed on Carfax. Mercedes ran this car through the auction at which time the auction "reported" there was structural/frame damage. Before I purchased the car I had it inspected to see the extent of the damage. The inspection revealed that there wasn't any structural damage, but since it was reported that way Carfax can not remove that comment from their report. I felt comfortable with the car and it drove perfectly so I bought it. I've driven it for two years without a single mechanical issue. The only service that has been performed has been the annual maintenance items (performed at MB Dealer) and they updated a module in the radio for the MBRACE system. I put new Michelin tires on at 15,000 miles primarily because I didn't like the Continentals that came as OEM tires. The Michelin's are a much better riding tire. As I was preparing to sell the vehicle I didn't want to mislead anyone about the structure of this car so I had it inspected for a second time at a local auto repair center here in Arkansas. They also confirmed that there isn't any structural damage to this car. (I've attached a copy of their report along with the pictures) I've tried to contact Carfax to get this issue resolved, but there isn't anything they can do. So even though I have much respect for Carfax, I realize they can't inspect each car and if there is an issue reported in error they still have to include it on the report. That's the whole story behind the car. Since the car has this "record" I realize that I can't sell it for what it really should go for. I bought it at a discounted rate and I'm willing to sell it for a discounted rate as well. I'm also willing to buy the car back within one week if the buyer were to uncover any structural damage that existed prior to the sale. (Shipping would be the buyers responsibility) This CLK 550 had an MSRP over $75,000 new. It has every option available including the power trunk, A/C Seats, Windscreen, Nav, Permium 2 Pkg, and Bluetooth. I'm only asking $25,900 and will listen to any reasonable offer. If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to give me a call. This is an amazing car for the money. If you always wanted to own a Mercedes here is your chance without breaking the bank. Xcar spools up the Mercedes-AMG GT
Wed, Sep 23 2015Xcar has sampled its fair share of high-performance machinery. And a fair few of them have come from Stuttgart and its satellite in Affalterbach. The British video crew had yet to sample the new Mercedes flagship, but it takes care of that in this latest installment. That's right, it's time to check out the new Mercedes-AMG GT. AMG's new twin-turbocharged halo car has a tough act to follow, hitting the scene in the wake of the celebrated Mercedes SLS AMG, what with its gullwing doors and big atmospheric V8. But even with those big, wide rubber shoes to fill, Xcar finds there's plenty to love in the new AMG GT – particularly in the exhaust note, which is far from a given from a forced-induction engine. And with as much as 503 horsepower on tap, Xcar aptly points out that it's as potent as many a supercar from just a few years ago. Yet it's far more reasonably priced – in relative terms, that is. It's enough to not only put BMW's M and Audi's Quattro divisions to shame, but put Porsche on notice in the process. And therein lies the vital question: is it better than a 911? Even a 911 Turbo? That's the answer that Xcar seeks to find in this latest video, but you'll want to watch it for yourself to see what conclusion they've reached. Related Video:
Sunday Drive: A new Rambo Lambo takes center stage
Sun, Dec 10 2017Surprise! Autoblog readers love fast cars. Doesn't matter what shape; doesn't matter what size. As long as it's got big power, wicked acceleration, and ludicrous speed, you're interested. Take, for instance, the brand-new Lamborghini Urus. It's got a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 sending 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. It hits 62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds, and has a top speed of 189.5 mph. Ludicrous speed? Check. And although you'd be hard pressed to draw a line straight back from the upcoming Urus to the old, off-road-ready LM002, at least you can say that Lamborghini does have a history of producing overpowered SUVs. A 5.2-liter V12 engine producing 444 horsepower and borrowed from the Countach certainly qualifies as big power, especially considering this was in the 1980s and '90s. A prime example just sold for nearly half a million bucks. Moving along to more traditional sportscars, we got a sneak peek at the next Porsche 911's interior, thanks to some intrepid spy photographers. And we spy with our little eyes some major changes to the quintessential German sportscar. Finally, we round out this Sunday Drive with two First Drive reports. Both are German, but past that, they couldn't be more different. Either way, ludicrous speed is all but guaranteed by either one. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print. Mercedes rules out hybrid supercar, promises SLS successor
Sat, 16 Mar 2013The recent Geneva Motor Show was a festival of hypercars, with the presence of not one, but three over-the-top debuts: the Lamborghini Veneno, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LeFerrari. The latter two have hitched their carbon fiber bumpers to the electrification bandwagon by using hybrid-electric powertrains not entirely unlike the propulsion systems we've come to know in cars like the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt. Does that mean the flow of electrons up the four-wheeled food chain will eventually consume our hallowed supercars? Not if AMG has anything to say about it.
AMG Director of Vehicle Development Tobias Moers recently confirmed that not only will there be a successor to the Mercedes-Benz performance division's SLS AMG, he notes that its internal combustion engine will most definitely not be sharing living quarters with an electric drivetrain. Instead, AMG plans to focus on further pushing the power and efficiency envelope of the internal combustion engine and advancing the use of lightweight materials to achieve their goals. The first example of this effort can be seen in the new SLS AMG Black Series that incorporates many weight-saving techniques to shed some 154 pounds from the SLS AMG GT (above), which itself is lighter than the standard SLS AMG.
Furthermore, Moers remarks that his company is happy to leave the hypercar segment to companies like Ferrari and McLaren. He admits that, "Ferrari in the hyper-car segment is still a different brand than AMG. We have to be honest..." So rather than taking the SLS further upmarket to do battle with bulls and stallions, Moers hinted that the next-generation SLS may be joined by another performance model that fits neatly between itself and the C63 AMG.
