For sale I have a 2005 Mercedes Benz CLK-55 AMG. This car features the hand-crafted specially-tuned 5.5-liter, 362-hp and 376 lb-ft of torque V8 motor. This car runs and drives excellent. The 5.5L V8 motor fires right up and it sounds solid with lots of power and torque. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly smooth with no issues and no delays. The suspension is tight and it handles great. All 4 tires are in excellent shape with plenty of tread remaining. The brakes are nice and firm and the rotor do not pulsate. The outside body for its age and miles looks great. The interior is in great shape as well and it has all the options inside such as Navigation. Everything works besides the sound, the radio worked perfect but there's no longer sound. I brought it to Boomer Mcloud and they found out that it will need a new amplifier. I purchased this car from an insurance company where it had rear corner collision (see last picture). I had the car professionally repaired. I brought the car to the DMV and had it inspected and thus the car has a Rebuilt title. I registered the car with no issues and the title is under my name. This car sold new for $ 87,550 ! I am getting married and need to money so my baby has to go. There's one tiny small chip in the bottom of the windshield which does not bother one's drive ability. The car is up to date with its maintenance. The last thing I did on the car was replaced both valve cover gasket, I put new wires and new spark-plugs with a fresh oil change Mobil 1. Payment method if your shipping it will be made ONLY via Certified Bank check or you can do a wire transfer. Once I get the payment I will overnight the title and the rest of the paperwork. VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes
Sun, 06 Jan 2013The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.
Aston Martin's deal with Mercedes-AMG more than skin-deep

But it's not going it alone: it has a technical partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the details of which have only been revealed in bits and pieces. If these latest spy shots are anything to go by, however, the arrangement could run deeper than anyone initially let on. Spied undergoing testing at the Nurburgring, this prototype for the upcoming successor to the Aston Martin DB9 is widely expected to be called the DB11 (10 is being used by James Bond's new ride). From the outside it doesn't look different than the previous versions we've seen running around, but this time we can also peer into the cabin, and that's where things start to get interesting. Despite the best arm-waving efforts by the development engineers, our spy photographers managed to snap a couple of shots of the interior. And though it looks far from being ready for production, the components we see appear to have been lifted from the Mercedes S-Class Coupe – particularly the steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, and almost the entire center console. This speaks to a deeper collaboration between the British and German automakers. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the Mercedes-AMG GT, C63, and G500 4x42 is already being adapted for use in the next generation of Astons. Related Video:
German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe
Fri, Apr 22 2016Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation.
