2001 Mercedes-benz Clk55 Amg Lorinser Package - Msrp $125,000 on 2040-cars
San Francisco, California, United States
Here is some info on my 2001 CLK55 AMG; VIN # WDBLJ74G11F190544. Below is a complete list of the upgrades and options for the car: I purchased it with only 16,000 miles back in 2005. EXTERIOR: The exterior color is Brilliant Silver, and there has never been any body or paint work other than the painting and installation of the body kit. It features an authentic Lorinser DTM body package. Lorinser RS5 Wheels Lorinser DTM front bumper Lorinser DTM side skirts Lorinser DTM rear bumper Lorinser roof wing AMG smoked tail lights Lorinser DTM Fog Lights Tinted windows Chrome headlight surrounds Chrome mirror surrounds Euro flat hood emblem (replaces the star emablem on the hood giving it a more sleek look) Coated in liquid teflon Retail on the Lorinser body kit alone is $11000.00 plus the paint and installation. Retail on Lorinser Wheels is $2500.00 INTERIOR: Two-tone Black and Silver: Nappa Seats, Nappa Door Panels and Nappa Steering Wheel. Black Birdseye Maple wood trim Chrome shifter surround Heated seats Rear power sunshade Every factory power option available: Auto dimming mirror Xenon head lights Rain sensing headlights First aid kit Real AMG Titanium pedals (these are not availble in the states, I actually brought them back from a visit to Germany) STEREO: Two weeks went in to the planning and design of this music system alone. Only the best equipment was used and the installation is extremely solid. This is not one of those bass bumpers, this stereo was designed to listen to quality concert music. It is loud and it is clean. The complete system was designed to fit in to the spare tire well of the vehicle. Yet the battery and wires are still easily reached. The trunk area was finished in black leather and color matched panels, and it all resides under the factory trunk carpet cover. The trunk area features two Subwoofers, an amplifier, and a 10 disk cd changer. Also blue lights glow at night around the sub woofers and inside the amplifier. There is a Audiovox monitor mounted on the inside of the trunk lid. It is great when you are parked somewhere and you want to watch a movie or play video games. In the center of the dash you will find the head unit which has more functions than a remote control. It controls and plays the radio, CD's, DVD's, Navigation and the built in TV tuner. Yes you can watch TV in the car. The best feature with this unit is that everything is touch screen. Another great feature is the motorized screen that disappears when you don't want to see it. Also installed is a K40 radar system. The company charged $2000 to install this system. It is totally invisible and undetectable. It feature all bands including laser. There is a small status light on the dashboard and we utilize a dummy light in the gauge cluster for the warning light. In the rear center console you will find a game plate. This allows you to plug in any video game system within seconds. The sound from this stereo is unbelievable, the quality in sound will floor you. Kenwood KVT 911DVD headunit Kenwood 10 disc CD changer Touch screen controls Motorized monitor Touch screen Navigation DVD player TV tuner XTANT X603 amplifier 2 XTANT 10" sub woofers Dyna Audio component speakers K40 Radar Audivox TV monitor Custom enclosures This install would cost $25000 anywhere you went. You have to hear it to believe it. ENGINE/PERFORMANCE: All maintenance is up to schedule and it is mechanically sound. This car really pulls. The combination of horsepower and torque really give you an awesome driving experience. 5.5 L V8 SOHC SMPI 24 Valve engine 349 Hp 376 lbs tourqe Automatic slip control Electronic stability program 2.87 axle ratio K&N Air filters Renntec modified AMG exhaust SUSPENSION/WHEELS: I had the car brought back to stock with the original CLK55 AMG springs installed. I still have the following that will be included with the car: H&R DTM lowering springs You will not find another CLK55 like this one. It is an amazing vehicle that has been garaged its whole life. It has never been raced, the engine is absolutely beautiful and sounds great. The price reflects just what a great vehicle this is. Please, no scammers. Only selling within the United States - I will not entertain overseas offers! Please email me with any questions! Good luck! |

Weekly Recap: Ferrari looks to reclaim old success with new manager
Sat, Nov 29 2014Clearly, Ferrari doesn't race for fourth place, and this week, major changes continued at the Scuderia. It was a rough year for Ferrari, and the Scuderia conducted its season-ending tests in Abu Dhabi this week with a view toward a fresh start in 2015 with new leaders and a new ace driver. Though plenty of other Formula One teams were disappointed with their finishes in 2014, Ferrari was perhaps the most eager to put this season in its rear-view mirror. The Scuderia finished a distant fourth in the Constructors standings with 216 points, well behind No. 1 Mercedes (701 points), and Ferrari failed to win a single race as the Silver Arrows dominated the grid. It was an especially bitter pill for a team that claims 16 Constructors championships and 15 Drivers titles – the most in history – and is the only surviving team from F1's first season, 1950. Clearly, Ferrari doesn't race for fourth place, and this week, major changes continued at the Scuderia. Ferrari named Philip Morris executive Maurizio Arrivabene as team principal. He replaced Marco Mattiacci, who held the job for only seven months after taking over for Stefano Domenicali, who resigned in April amid the Scuderia's early-season struggles. Phillip Morris (through its Marlboro brand) is a key Ferrari sponsor, and that played a role in Arrivabene's ascension. Still, he's no stranger to F1, and has been intimately involved in the Ferrari-Marlboro partnership. He also has served as the sponsors' representative on the FIA's F1 Commission since 2010. In a statement, new Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne said: "We decided to appoint Maurizio Arrivabene because, at this historic moment in time for the Scuderia and for Formula One, we need a person with a thorough understanding not just of Ferrari, but also of the governance mechanisms and requirements of the sport." Arrivabene's background is primarily in marketing and communication, and most recently he held the title of vice president of consumer channel strategy and event marketing for Philip Morris. He has been with the company since 1997. Arrivabene now leads a team that's rife with change. Marchionne took over in October when longtime boss Luca di Montezemolo quit in a disagreement about Ferrari's future, and the company itself will be spun off from parent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2015.
Trump calls Germans 'very bad,' vows to stop their car sales in US
Fri, May 26 2017TAORMINA, Italy -Talks between President Trump and other leaders of the world's rich nations at the G7 summit on Friday were expected to be "robust" and "challenging" after he had lambasted NATO allies and condemned Germans as "very bad" for their trade policies. Trump's confrontational remarks in Brussels, on the eve of the two-day summit in the Mediterranean resort town of Taormina, cast a pall over a meeting at which America's partners had hoped to coax him into softening his stances on trade and climate change. According to German media reports, Trump condemned Germany as "very bad" for its trade policies in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, signaling he might take steps to limit sales of German cars in the United States. "The Germans are bad, very bad," he reportedly told Juncker. "Look at the millions of cars that they're selling in the USA. Horrible. We're gonna stop that." White House economic adviser Gary Cohn on Friday confirmed the reports. "He said they're very bad on trade, but he doesn't have a problem with Germany." Cohn said Trump had pointed out during the meeting that his father had German roots in order to underscore the message that he had nothing against the German people. Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump had "tremendous respect" for Germany and had only complained about unfair trade practices in the meeting. Juncker called the reports in Spiegel Online and Sueddeutsche Zeitung exaggerated. The reports translated "bad" with the German word "boese," which can also mean "evil," leading to confusion when English-language media translated the German reports back into English. "The record has to be set straight," Juncker said, noting that the translation issue had exaggerated the seriousness of what Trump had said. "It's not true that the president took an aggressive approach when it came to the German trade surplus." "He said, like others have, that (the United States) has a problem with the German surplus. So he was not aggressive at all," Juncker added. In January, Trump threatened to slap a 35 percent tax on German auto imports. "If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," he said. "I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that." Last year, the U.S.
The best Super Bowl car commercials from the last 5 years
Wed, Jan 28 2015If you've been dipping into the Autoblog feed over the past days and weeks, you wouldn't even have to be a sports fan to know the Super Bowl is coming up. Automakers have been teasing their spots for the big game, dropping them days early, fully-formed onto the Internet and otherwise trying to amp up the multi-million-dollar outlays that they've made for air time on the biggest advertising day of the year. And, we're into it. The lead up to the Super Bowl is almost akin to a mini auto show around these parts; with automakers being amongst the most prolific advertisers on these special Sundays. The crop of ads from 2015 looks as strong as ever, but we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of our favorite spots from the last five years. Take a look at our picks – created from a very informal polling of Autoblog editors and presented in no particular order – and then tell us about your recent faves, in Comments. Chrysler, Imported From Detroit Chrysler, Eminem and a lingering pan shot of "The Fist" – it doesn't get much more Motown than 2011's Imported From Detroit. With the weight of our staffers hailing from in and around The D, it's no wonder that our memories still favor this epic Super Bowl commercial (even though the car it was shilling was crap). Imported really set the tone for later Chrysler ads, too, repeated the formula: celebrity endorsement + dramatic copy + dash of jingoism = pulled car-guy heartstrings. Mercedes-Benz, Soul teaser with Kate Upton One of our favorite Super Bowl commercials (and yours, based on the insane number of views you logged) didn't even technically air during the game. Mercedes-Benz teased its eventual spot Soul with 90-seconds worth of Kate Upton threatening to do her best Joy Harmon impression. (Teaser indeed.) It doesn't win points for cleverness, use of music, acting, or any compelling carness, but it proved that Mercedes' advertisers knew how to make a splash in the Internet Age. And, hey, it's still classier than every GoDaddy commercial. Kia, A Dream Car. For Real Life Like the Mercedes video above, the initial draw here is a pretty lady; in this case the always stunning Adriana Lima. But this Kia commercial really delivers the extra effort we expect while scarfing crabby snacks and homemades, too. First of all, Motley Crue. Second, a cowboy on a bucking rhino. Enjoy yet again.
