You want horsepower? You’re in the right place! How about 493 V12 twin-turbocharged horsepower in a two-door luxury cruise missile? It’s like piloting a warp-drive rocket that travels on the highways of planet Earth. You want more? At the buy-it-now price I will deliver this car with over 600HP! And how about buying a great condition CL600 at more than a $120K discount from its original MSRP of $139K?!? This is a gorgeous 2003 Mercedes CL600 coupe, in fantastic condition inside, outside, and mechanically. Never any accidents, all original body panels and paint, and most importantly lots of good service history at the Mercedes dealer. This car was serviced regularly, garaged, and it shows. It needs nothing but a new owner, and looks/drives like a brand new car. Classic 040 black over savannah tan leather, CD changer, COMAND navigation, parking sensors, heated/ventilated front seats, AMG sport package, leather/wood steering wheel and shifter, and more.

-- Here is your next car! --

Please let me stop you now if you are looking for a cheap CL600. Trust me, there is nothing more expensive on this earth than a cheap 600-series Mercedes. Some of these cars have been neglected, leak, need ABC work, rattle, and generally need expensive repairs. It’s easy to buy one for $20K and then put $8K or more into it in the 1st year of ownership. Not this one! IMPORTANT: Multiple complete inspections have been done. The car is truly ready to go, and does NOT need expensive repairs like many of them out there. NO HIDDEN PROBLEMS. Ask the other sellers you are considering buying from for references from their last twenty five 600-series Benz customers. Guess what? You won’t get anyone that is willing/able to do that; except for me!

Here's the deal:

-- It's a 2003 CL600 V12 twin-turbo coupe in 040 black over savannah tan leather, light wood trim, and tan carpets with alcantara headliner. It has 97,xxx miles, looks like a million bucks, and drives like a million bucks too! These photos are all taken after a wash and vacuum. No detailing of ANY kind yet! –

-- Exterior 9 out of 10 (I'm finicky) – Very nice overall condition paint, body, glass, and trim. No dings, no dents, no scuffs, some surface scratches but most of those will come out in detailing. This car looks great, with a deep shine to the glossy black paint that's like looking into a mirror. This car looks great even under fluorescent light in a garage, and will look amazing after detailing. --

-- This CL600 has never had any accidents, and wears all its original body panels and bumpers. All the paint is all original. Lower side-body moldings are in great shape. Chrome, rubber, glass, trim is all very nice. No oxidation, fade, wear, rust, etc. Headlights and windshield are clear as well.--

-- Look at the body panels.....they are perfectly straight. --

-- The OEM AMG five-star staggered 18” alloy wheels are true with some minor curb rash. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires have 75% tread remaining in front, but only 10% in the rear. At the buy-it-now price, I will mount and a brand new set of Pilot Super Sport rear tires in 265/40/18 size. This CL600 drives straight as an arrow at any speed you choose. --

-- Interior 9.5 out of 10 - The interior overall including all seating and door leather, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in great condition. No dash cracks, carpet rips, and nearly zero wear of any kind on the leather (driver’s bolster shows very little wear too which in these cars is very rare). Everything looks and feels near-new; you can’t even tell anyone has been in the car. No smoking ever. None of the usual broken storage compartments, missing cup-holders, etc.--

-- The door panels and light wood trim are also in nice shape, like the rest of the car. --

- Even the trunk and spare are mint. --

-- This car is loaded including full leather, heated/cooled front seats, dynamic drive pulse/active front seats, AMG Sport Package, COMAND navigation, parking sensors, trunk closer, moonroof, bi-xenon headlights, leather/wood steering wheel and shift knob, and more. It even has the power rear sunshade. --

-- There’s even nice quality aftermarket tint on the windows, and the OEM (now useless) Motorola cellphone in the car. –

-- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, wipers, seat motors/memory, and power mirrors work perfectly. Headrest motors, vacuum lock system, etc. all operating properly. The HVAC system is fast to respond, and perfect with hot heat and ice-cold A/C. --

--Mechanically 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth yet aggressive, and downshifts eagerly. This CL600 runs at high speed with no vibrations or noises. There are no leaks. --

-- Engine is strong and VERY eager to run, transmission smooth and ready to drop down two gears at your command to rocket you past slower traffic. When you floor the throttle in this car, you’d better be prepared to arrive where the car is pointing RIGHT NOW. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight like new, but floats like on a cloud just like an ABC Benz is supposed to do. Steering nicely weighted with no play in the box. This car drives and handles like new. --

-- This car has all its books, two working remote keys, and ALL warranty service history. It has a clean carfax which will be provided to the new owner. It’s undergone multiple inspections; one cosmetic with paint meter, the other two mechanical/electrical/body/frame. You name it, it’s been looked at! With ‘only’ 97K miles, it’s not even broken in yet. All you have to do is drive. --

-- If someone selects the buy-it-now option, I will provide the following: the new rear Michelin Super Sport tires mentioned above, a flash of the car’s ECU to upgrade horsepower to over 600, a full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc. I'll also include brand new Mercedes OEM floor mats, and ToughGuard paint protectant. This stuff is simply amazing for durability, as it will last up to five YEARS. Dealers charge up to $695 for this stuff! That’s nearly $3000 in value all included at the BIN price! Renntech charges $2500 for the ECU tuning alone. Scare yourself right out of your underwear when you hit the gas. Wow! --

-- Nits: Some minor scratches/chips from being on the road, and THAT'S IT. NOTHING ELSE. And if I did not mention those, it's unlikely anyone would even notice...I just want to be up front and honest. --

-- I have good feedback, and sold many Audis, Acuras, and Benzes that the new owners are thrilled with. They and others have offered to act as references to verify that I am honest in my descriptions of the cars I sell, and you are welcome to contact them. --

THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME CAR, AND IT'S AN UNBELIEVABLE DEAL!!

Mercedes-Maybach Pullman stretches its way to Geneva

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Mercedes-Benz is known the world over for producing luxury automobiles, but even among Benzes there's a hierarchy. The S-Class sits at the top of the Mercedes range, the Maybach at the top of the S-Class, and what you see here sits at the top of the Maybach line. It's the new Pullman limousine, and it arrives on the 50th anniversary of the original. Stretching a massive 21.3 feet, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is even longer than the previous Maybach 62 by a full foot, and a good 3.5 feet longer than the standard-wheelbase Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, or two feet longer than the G63 AMG 6x6. In other terms, it's over a foot longer than the Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB, and the better part of a yard longer than even the Cadillac Escalade ESV. Heck, you could just about fit Benz's other flagship, the Mercedes-AMG GT, inside the new Pullman's 14.5-foot wheelbase. As if that's not enough, it also stands 3.9 inches higher than a standard S-Class to the benefit of its imposing presence and interior space. Should you be so fortunate as to be graced with an invitation to step inside, you'd find an interior entirely clad in leather with four seats: two recliners and two fold-down seats facing backwards. Those principal rear seats can recline between 19 and 43.5 degrees and offer an extensive array of individual adjustments to cater just-so to the occupants' individual preferences. Ingress and egress are enabled by larger rear doors that open in front of – instead of next to – those rear seats to enhance the privacy of the traveling dignitaries, who will be able to monitor the state of affairs through the analog thermometer, speedometer and clock mounted in the roof liner. They'll also enjoy privacy thanks to the electrically operated glass partition wall with an 18.5-inch monitor mounted in front of it and a choice of Burmester sound systems. Long the favorite of heads of state and captains of industry, the new Pullman will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show now just weeks away. We don't doubt that Mercedes will offer its customers a choice of engine options (as long as they're capable of motivating the new Pullman's assuredly substantial heft), but most suitable to the task will of course be the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 with its 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed again in 1:18 scale

Fri, 10 May 2013

There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.
This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.

The 2016 Spanish Grand Prix flipped all the scripts

Mon, May 16 2016

The Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit and the Hungaroring fly the flag for processional races, yet Spain's Circuit de Catalunya is arguably as bad. Before this weekend, the pole-sitter won the race 19 times out of the last 25 years. The front row of the grid produced 23 winners in the past 25 years. The racing gods edited that script this year, when a first-lap crash and two mid-race strategy changes kept things open until the end of the 66-lap race. It started when Mercedes-AMG Petronas teammates Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton took each other out on Lap 1. After Rosberg passed pole-sitter Hamilton into Turn 1, Rosberg's car slowed through Turn 3, somehow in the wrong mode. Hamilton closed in on Rosberg so quickly that once the Brit ducked inside for the pass, he couldn't back out. Rosberg, however, closed the door so suddenly that Hamilton had no choice but to drive onto the grass. When Hamilton spun, he collected Rosberg and both Mercedes' ended up in the gravel trap. The stewards deemed it a racing incident. The crash put Red Bull teammates Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen in the lead, followed by Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz and the Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. Both Ferraris cleared Sainz by Lap 10, leaving 56 laps for them to haul in the Red Bulls. Ferrari loosely followed Red Bull's pit strategies. Ricciardo pitted on Laps 11 and 28, Vettel pitted on Laps 15 and 37. Verstappen pitted on Laps 12 and 35, Raikkonen pitted on Laps 13 and 36. Pirelli predicted a three-stop race as the fastest and that the medium tire could only go about 23 laps. Verstappen and Raikkonen didn't get those memos. So while Ricciardo and Vettel came in for third stops the Dutchman and the Finn stayed out, with Verstappen ahead of Raikkonen at the front of the race as of Lap 43. That's when Verstappen – 18 years and 227 days old – proved how good a driver he is, lapping perfectly as second-place Raikkonen closed the gap to a little more than half a second. The Finn still couldn't get past the Dutchman down the pit straight even with the help of DRS, nor under braking at the only real passing opportunity into Turn 1. At the end of Lap 66 Verstappen crossed the line ahead of Raikkonen, a victorious end to Verstappen's first race weekend after being promoted to Red Bull. Further back, Vettel and Ricciardo fought for scraps, the German staying ahead to finish third.
