2007 Cl550 Cl-class Coupe on 2040-cars
Long Island City, New York, United States
This is a 2007 CL550 with Package 1 that was purchased as Certified Pre-Owned from Prestige Merceds NJ, Maintained at Rallye and Silver Star mercedes. Adult driven, and well maintained.
Prior to extended warranty running out, car went thru a major overhaul, with replacement of fuel pump, filter, power steering, abc pumps, replaced the steering and radiator and hoses. They also did a extensive work on the car as a favor, all under warranty. Car had been used for a weekly work related Commute between Long Island NY and Rochester NY (about 900 miles each trip), which is why the miles. Cars interior is great does not show any use other than on side of brake pedal, had snow mats on top of original which are in mint condition. All buttons and controls work perfect. Navigation, AC, etc. work great, original blower motor had developed a soft squeak so was replace last year. Tires are about 15k miles old, rear are Run Flats (was done to avoid hassle on long trips) and front are regular, do have the spare and all accessories in trunk. Brakes and rotors changed 3 months ago. I was suppose to trade this car in for new S550, but a kid (with honda civic) hit me on the Passenger door, which is why there is a dent on the Passenger door. There was no airbags deployed etc. was fairly minor except there is a big dent now. Glass in the door is intact, and does go down/up except after 6 inches there is some resistance from dent. as in pic, the molding below the dooor is also damaged. on rear bumper there are few minor scuffs from parking and same on front. On the windshiled there is a small scuff for last 4 years, but no crack. Car Runs and drives like new, the only issue with the car is 1- sos light came on (this is for the communication call and needs reset) and from before I had the abc light, and need the driver side front strut which squeaks and does not fill up. I never had this replaced as I was going to trade in. There are no suspension or other leaks. (I did not have the car detailed or engine cleaned so you can see there are no signs of any leaks etc.) AC runs cold, ventilated seats work great. Car can be inpected in Great Neck Long Island or in Queens NY You are welcome to test drive it or have it inspected before auction ends. Please note I do have limited time, so please pre-arrange all to minmize time. It is being sold as is where is, can meet in NYC or Long Island, if ship must arrange, and i can drop of where ever it needs in NYC area. |

Lots of new cars were unveiled in Munich this week. Here's what you might've missed
Thu, Sep 9 2021The 2021 Munich Auto Show is happening this week and due to ongoing corporate travel restrictions, we remained firmly planted on this continent. So, although we can't tell you exactly what it's like inside the futuristic new Mercedes EQE electric sedan or fully appreciate the funky Volkswagen ID.Life concept, there's no shortage of details and analysis to provide. Obviously, as Germany's premier auto show in 2021, the cars unveiled were primarily from the German brands. We also focused mostly on the cars that might actually make their way to the United States, or at least inspire those that will.  2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE is an electric alternative to the E-Class While the EQS paved the way for Mercedes' electrified future, much like the S-Class before it, the EQE stands to be the car that will move in far greater numbers -- much like the E-Class before it. Though perhaps a tad derivative of the Honda E, Volkswagen's blocky little crossover EV nevertheless represents a handsome new direction for VW design. We like this better than the rounded looks of the current ID.3 and ID.4. 2021 Volkswagen ID.Life concept View 20 Photos  BMW i Vision Circular is a 100% recycled and recyclable hatch Behold, the next BMW 3 Series! Just kidding. Besides this, BMW displayed cars in person for the first time that it had previously only unveiled on the interwebs, including the new 2 Series and revised iX3. It also unveiled some bikes. BMW i Vision Circular Concept View 63 Photos  Audi's GrandSphere concept was designed as a road-going private jet Does Audi know what a sphere is? Cause this isn't anything like one. Still, it's quite a handsome thing, and as one of three Sphere-branded concepts, previews the next direction of Audi design (which is pleasantly reminiscent of two-decade-old Mazda design). No complaints here. 2021 Audi GrandSphere concept View 26 Photos  Porsche Mission R is a 1,000-horsepower electric monster Just like the Mission E previewed the Taycan, this apparently previews another future car.
2017 Aston Marin Lagonda could live on Mercedes M-Class platform
Tue, 29 Oct 2013A few weeks ago, we brought you news from the launch of the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante that the British brand, which is formally known as Aston Martin Lagonda, was still planning on going ahead with a Lagonda-badged crossover. Now comes word that that vehicle could very well be based on a Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
When the first Lagonda Concept debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it sat on a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class platform, some four years before Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG deal was inked. And with that partnership, which will see Aston Martin gain access to AMG electrics and "bespoke, V8 powertrains," the opportunities for platform sharing are many.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, the boss of Aston Martin, told the UK's AutoCar, "I look at what Porsche is doing with the 911 as its core business and then it is able to do models like the Cayenne based on the Volkswagen Touareg. It is good business." We've said many times that we'll tolerate exotic CUVs and SUVs if it means keeping the beloved core models alive, which has been the case with Porsche. We see no reason Aston Martin wouldn't be able to do the same.
Mercedes-Benz engines with 48-volt systems coming in 2017
Tue, Jun 14 2016As part of a big green push announced yesterday, Mercedes-Benz is jumping into the world of 48-volt power. The company will launch a new family of efficient gasoline engines next year and will begin rolling out 48-volt systems with it, likely in its more expensive cars first. Mercedes will use the 48-volt systems to power mild-hybrid functions like energy recuperation (commonly called brake regeneration), engine stop-start, electric boost, and even moving a car from a stop on electric power alone. These features will be enabled through either an integrated starter-generator (Mercedes abbreviates it ISG) or a belt-driven generator (RSG). (RSG is from the German word for belt-driven generator, Riemenstartergeneratoren. That's your language lesson for the day.) Mercedes didn't offer many other details on the new family of engines. There are 48-volt systems already in production; Audi's three-compressor SQ7 engine uses an electric supercharger run by a 48-volt system, and there's a new SQ5 diesel on the horizon that will use a similar setup with the medium-voltage system. Electric superchargers require a lot of juice, which can be fed by either a supercapacitor or batteries in a 48-volt system. Why 48-volt Matters: Current hybrid and battery-electric vehicles make use of very high voltages in their batteries, motors, and the wiring that connects them, usually around 200 to 600 volts. The high voltage gives them enough power to move a big vehicle, but it also creates safety issues. The way to mitigate those safety issues is with added equipment, and that increases both cost and weight. You can see where this is going. By switching to a 48-volt system, the high-voltage issues go away and the electrical architecture benefits from four times the voltage of a normal vehicle system and uses the same current, providing four times the power. The electrical architecture will cost more than a 12-volt system but less than the complex and more dangerous systems in current electrified vehicles. The added cost makes sense now because automakers are running out of ways to wisely spend money for efficiency gains. Cars can retain a cheaper 12-volt battery for lower-power accessories and run the high-draw systems on the 48-volt circuit. The industry is moving toward 48-volt power, with the SAE working on a standard for the systems and Delphi claiming a 10-percent increase in fuel economy for cars that make the switch.
