2006 Mercedes Benz CL500. black on black with tinted windows, blacked out wheels and black euro-style grill. This vehicle has every available option including AMG Sport Package, Parktronic system, Keyless Go, Automatic trunk closer, rear window shade and SIRIUS radio. This LIKE NEW Coupe looks beautiful from front to back. Equipped with high-end features and an unparalleled build quality. It is being offered at a very low starting price. The exterior is in excellent condition from front to rear, with very little road wear. It has a perfect Carfax report, and the glass, lights, and lenses are in excellent condition all around. This coupe features a 5.0L 8 CYLINDER Gasoline engine. It is equipped with a 7 Speed Automatic transmission. It is very powerful. The alloy wheels are clean and nice, with new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires on the rear and newer on the front. The interior is also in excellent shape, with expanses of rich leather and a wide assortment of luxury and safety features such as power windows, power locks with keyless GO, power mirrors, power-adjustable steering wheel, 4-way power moonroof, Navigation, SIRIUS radio and much more. The trim and panels are clean all around, and the carpet is nice and fresh with no soiling. The inside of this car is an extremely comfortable place to be. Mechanically, you will find nowhere to fault this well-made Mercedes-Benz, and the potent V8 motor fires right to life, delivering an abundance of smooth power across the rev band. The automatic transmission shifts flawlessly, and the brakes and suspension are in excellent shape. The advanced traction control keeps the car connected to the road in all conditions, and it tracks straight and smooth at any speed. I purchased this CL500 in July of 2011 in Texas. While in my care i made multiple modifications and repairs, including: transmission oil and filter change, new windshield (old one had a small crack in it), replaced the Active Body Control pump, as well as all other scheduled maintenance. This CL500 is always garaged. It is an absolute treat to drive or ride in this car, it is very fast and handles great. All around, it runs and drives beautifully, and is priced to sell. I am only selling this vehicle because my kids are growing - fast! - and a 2-door coupe is no longer feasible.

Elephant with an itch to scratch uses cars for relief
Thu, Jan 15 2015Sometimes in life you, get an itch in a place that you need some help to scratch it. That feeling apparently goes for elephants as well as humans. A pachyderm at the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand recently had some serious comfort in its rump. Unfortunately, the giant animal chose several passing vehicles to alleviate the problem. Things start out rather cute with the elephant rubbing its enormous behind on a Mercedes-Benz. However, another vehicle apparently doesn't provide the same level of relief. The animal seems to grow annoyed and starts taking the sedan apart with at least one person inside. The experience must have been mammothly terrifying. According to BBC News, no one was injured, and the odd behavior is being blamed on a result of the elephant's mating season. Male elephants, as well as other male pachyderms, go through a period called the musth, when testosterone levels rise to several times greater than normal in preparation for the mating season. It makes the elephant aggressive, irritable and yes, itchy.
Mercedes sues Ferrari-bound F1 engineer for stealing secrets
Tue, Dec 8 2015Mercedes is suing one of its Formula One engineers, one Benjamin Hoyle, claiming he was planning to take sensitive data to a competitor. An experienced powertrain engineer, Hoyle came to Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in 2012 with previous experience at Prodrive and Cosworth. One of four team leaders at the company, Hoyle headed up the performance application department until he notified his employers of his intention not to seek renewal of his contract that expires at the end of this year. Once they found out that Hoyle was switching to Ferrari, the higher-ups at Mercedes reassigned him to other, less sensitive duties, however Hoyle was reportedly discovered accessing race reports and other sensitive data relating to the performance of the team's engines. In response, Mercedes has filed suit against Hoyle, claiming that he "and potentially Ferrari have gained an unlawful advantage." The German automaker is seeking the return of all documents and the payment of its legal fees. It also seeks to prevent Hoyle from working for another F1 team throughout next season. Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains is the Daimler's F1 engine division. Based in Brixworth, UK, it was founded back in 1983 together with Ilmor before Mercedes bought it outright. Aside from the company's own works team, the outfit this year powered Williams, Lotus, and Force India, and previously worked with McLaren as well as Sauber. This is not the first time that a case of industrial espionage has emerged in F1. A similar controversy erupted in 2007 surrounding engineers Nigel Stepney and Mike Coughlan. The highly publicized incident became known as "Spygate" or "Stepneygate" and involved the illegal sharing of secrets between Ferrari, McLaren, and Renault. Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
