Have you driven a V-12 lately? Well now you can when you buy this gorgeous, rare, exotic and head turner of a Mercedes CL600.
Think a V-12 guzzles gas? Not at all. Vehicle runs as a V-6 until you ask it for the V-12 power (read Car & Driver Comments Below).
Options? Simply way too many too list. Keep in mind this was the "Flagship" model for Mercedes - Top of the Line. If I accept your "offsite" offer, I will offset a portion of the saving by helping any out-of-state buyer with vehicle shipping costs - I save money, you save money.

The car has Active Body Control (ABC) so it can be lowered and raised (3 settings) with a push of a dashboard button. You can also look on YouTube for the video of Mercedes Master Techs raising the car to go over curbs. The ABC lowers the car as your driving speed increases so that the car stays close and hugs the road beneath it.

This car gets looks and attention daily on a daily and frequent basis. As a matter of fact, people often approach me while driving or at a light and offer to buy it many times. So if you dont mind the attention and looks while driving it - this car is for you! The Vehicle is from FL, so no rust on the body at all. Clean inside and out. Women owned and driven. Clean title in hand. Bose Stereo. Suede Headliner. Clean/Clear Title. No accidents. See front bumper "ding" in picture provided. You will need to replace at least one tire on the free set of rims (wrong size). The free rims were not on the car, as depicted in the picture, they were only placed next to the car for the picture. I will include an unpainted CL600 Trunk spoiler - purchased here on eBay ($120), for free. I will also include a full set of Lowering Links - purchased here on eBay ($100) for free.

Feel free to come see, feel and drive it if you like. Also, instead of asking a woman a ton of technical/mechanic questions, I would encourage any and all serious buyers to take the vehicle to the Mercedes Dealership for a 50 Point Inspection before purchasing. The inspections are approximately $175-$200 but will give you piece of mind since buying used cars is, inherently, an "AS IS SALE." So, its wise to actually spend the extra money and protect your investment accordingly.

Car & Driver Comments:

The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class features marvelous technology in an amazing package of leather, walnut and sleek sheetmetal. You could argue all day about the perfect car, but for those who want a luxurious yet athletic coupe, the CL-Class is as close to perfect as you're likely to come.  You could argue this is the best car in the world. It is, after all, the highest offering from one of the great marques in car building today. And it has everything you could ask for. Quality and craftsmanship? Yup. Performance? Check. Price and exclusivity? Plenty. Comfort and convenience? Oh, boy. How about leading-edge technology and sheer tonnage of gizmos? The CL600 is there.

The other key distinction in this car, as the model designation suggests, is its marvelous V-12. An all-new design, this engine is predictably smooth and torquey but also lighter and more fuel-efficient than M-B's previous V-12. It shuts down the left bank of cylinders under light load and does so in a transparent, fuss-free manner. Rated output has actually slipped some in the new engine, but the downsizing of the S-Class platform (on which the CL coupes are based) more than makes up for the loss of peak thrust. A first-generation CL600 we tested (April '99) used 389 hp to punt its 4960 lb to 60 mph in 6.2 sec. Pretty impressive. But our '01 test car did the same leap in just 5.3 sec, even though its peak power is downrated to 362. The trick? Curb weight of the new coupe has plummeted to a (comparatively) svelte 4312 lb. Packing nearly 400 lb-ft of torque doesn't hurt either.

Motortrend Comments:

We're not going to wade into all the high-tech content packed on this car, but the sheer bulk of the owner's manual should tell you something: It's actually two hardbound books, one of 381 pages and another of 240! A bit of technical trickery that does deserve special mention is Mercedes' Active Body Control (ABC). This is a true active suspension (the only one in production) that uses electrohydraulic rams in the damper units to accommodate suspension travel while directly managing body motion. The remarkable reduction of roll, dive, and squat helps make the CL feel poised, responsive, and smaller than it is. And even though standing-start bravado is hardly what this car is all about, you have to deliver there too if you want to be the best. And the CL600 does deliver.

These Cars Are Increasingly Rare, Especially In This Condition, So Those Who Desire Them - Buy Them.

So If You Like It - Buy It Now - Or Make Me A Reasonable Offer Outside Of eBay. I Save & U Save.

I Get Calls Everyday Locally To Buy The Car But Will Not Make A Decision Until Later This Week.

Weekly Recap: Ferrari looks to reclaim old success with new manager

Sat, Nov 29 2014

Clearly, Ferrari doesn't race for fourth place, and this week, major changes continued at the Scuderia. It was a rough year for Ferrari, and the Scuderia conducted its season-ending tests in Abu Dhabi this week with a view toward a fresh start in 2015 with new leaders and a new ace driver. Though plenty of other Formula One teams were disappointed with their finishes in 2014, Ferrari was perhaps the most eager to put this season in its rear-view mirror. The Scuderia finished a distant fourth in the Constructors standings with 216 points, well behind No. 1 Mercedes (701 points), and Ferrari failed to win a single race as the Silver Arrows dominated the grid. It was an especially bitter pill for a team that claims 16 Constructors championships and 15 Drivers titles – the most in history – and is the only surviving team from F1's first season, 1950. Clearly, Ferrari doesn't race for fourth place, and this week, major changes continued at the Scuderia. Ferrari named Philip Morris executive Maurizio Arrivabene as team principal. He replaced Marco Mattiacci, who held the job for only seven months after taking over for Stefano Domenicali, who resigned in April amid the Scuderia's early-season struggles. Phillip Morris (through its Marlboro brand) is a key Ferrari sponsor, and that played a role in Arrivabene's ascension. Still, he's no stranger to F1, and has been intimately involved in the Ferrari-Marlboro partnership. He also has served as the sponsors' representative on the FIA's F1 Commission since 2010. In a statement, new Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne said: "We decided to appoint Maurizio Arrivabene because, at this historic moment in time for the Scuderia and for Formula One, we need a person with a thorough understanding not just of Ferrari, but also of the governance mechanisms and requirements of the sport." Arrivabene's background is primarily in marketing and communication, and most recently he held the title of vice president of consumer channel strategy and event marketing for Philip Morris. He has been with the company since 1997. Arrivabene now leads a team that's rife with change. Marchionne took over in October when longtime boss Luca di Montezemolo quit in a disagreement about Ferrari's future, and the company itself will be spun off from parent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2015.

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating

Mon, Aug 6 2018

Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.

If you're a Daimler exec, you'll soon have to drive an EV

Sat, Feb 20 2016

Luckily, for Daimler's "senior level" managers, the company has a lot of plug-in vehicle options. Lucky because "in the future," these managers will have to drive the company's electrified vehicles. This most likely means a plug-in hybrid – something like the C 350 e or the GLE 500 e 4MATIC – but it could also be the all-electric and peppy Smart ED or the B-Class EV. Board member Ola Kallenius said in a statement (available below) that this new policy, "We are continuing on the path of zero-emission driving with consistency. This is why we are making electric mobility an integral part of the everyday lives of our top management to set an example and to provide a clear role model." It's a big change from five years ago, when Daimler's director of fuel cell and battery drive development, Christian Mohrdieck, was willing to talk up the drawbacks EVs face. Even a year ago, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche explained the financial hardships involved in making EVs. But, EV technology continues to change, and so, perhaps, do the attitudes inside Daimler. As EV advocate Chelsea Sexton said on Facebook regarding this new policy, "This should be standard procedure in any automaker seeking a leadership role in the plug-in vehicle movement. Commitment starts at the top." Related Video: Electric Mobility: Daimler Management leads by example Daimler is once again setting a new milestone on the road to zero-emission driving: In the future managers will drive electrified company cars. Furthermore, Daimler is this year set to invest a further 30 million euros into extending the company's own charging infrastructure across many of its sites. This will also benefit employees, who have access to a growing range of vehicles with alternative drive systems. Stuttgart. It represents a further commitment from Daimler to an electric future for mobility: "We are continuing on the path of zero-emission driving with consistency", states Ola Kallenius, member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales and Marketing, about the importance of the current initiative. "This is why we are making electric mobility an integral part of the everyday lives of our top management to set an example and to provide a clear role model." The agreement applies to the company's senior levels of management and focuses on plug-in hybrids.
