This top-of-the-line CL-class is sexy, sleek, extra-clean and has been maintained wonderfully. It has remained a fair weather vehicle its entire life...and it certainly shows. This CL was purchased new in sunny Southern California, probably at MB of Beverly Hills and remained a West Coast car until Summer 2010 when it had only 42,000 miles. Then she came to sunny South Florida, where it has remained the past 3 years. Pretty nice life, huh! Without a doubt, one of the best color combination for this classy sedan. Brilliant Midnight Blue Metallic over Graphite leather, and this luxury touring sedan is the epitome of luxury! It is loaded with EVERYTHING! Ventilated heated and cooled seating, power 14-way adjustable front and rear seating, (with memory and lumbar), heated seats, 4-zone electronic climate control, high-power concert BOSE/Harmon Kardon audio system with 10-speakers and 6-disc CD changer, power rear window sunshade, one-touch express power windows, front and rear Parking Distance Control, power glass moonroof, factory Navigation, 4 illuminated vanity mirrors, Xenon high-intensity lighting, Rain Sensing wipers, Traction Control, stolen vehicle tracking, keyless remote entry, factory security system and so, so, so much more...... This CL500 is in sensational condition and is an absolute pleasure to drive.

The 5.0 liter 24-valve Aluminum V-8 engine is a monster when you want it to be, but Purrrs like a kitten all other times. The shiftable 5-speed automatic transmission makes driving enjoyable again, while providing you incredible vehicle and performance control when you want, and in automatic mode, leaves your hands free for your morning Cappuccino and Bagelette. The exterior is in excellent condition. In fact, it is outstanding. You will not find one cleaner, no matter what the mileage, no matter what the price. The previous owner loved this car, and it shows. Absolutely no dents or parking lot door dings, scuffs or scratches, and the brilliant factory finish is excellent. Loaded with everything and it runs and drives superbly. Everything works perfectly and properly, and we have just serviced this car with our state-of-the-art MB Certified facility.

All she needs now is a new, equally loving home. This car has never been smoked in. This CL500 is equipped with so many more power options than your standard MB. Please feel free to call or e-mail me and I will gladly send you the window sticker with the phone-book long list of luxury, convenience and safety options. Imagine all the fun you will have with this sexy and classy sedan, while still driving one of the safest vehicles on the road. Offered for auction at a fraction of its original $91,000 price tag when new. The original mileage is very low at only 89,601  (that's less than 7,000 miles per year folks), and these were exclusively sunny South Florida and Southern Cal miles--Believe me, it makes a BIG difference! No harsh climate, no harsh roads, no salt, no snow, no hills, etc....You should be getting the picture. Combined with the AMG factory chrome wheels and Sport Package and integrated factory fog lamps, this CL500 looks great from any angle. The polished chrome 18-inch AMG wheels look fantastic as well, and this automobile certainly makes a statement. For nearly the same price as an 8 year old Honda, you can own a car here than can change your life.

The options list is long, the condition is inspiring and the performance is breath-taking. What are you waiting for? Nearly 90% off from its original price-tag, in near showroom condition. Cadillac, Daimler execs take swipes at Tesla

Tue, Apr 22 2014

Despite the financial ties between Daimler and Tesla Motors, at least one Mercedes exec thinks the electric automaker doesn't have a bright future. And over at Cadillac, the message is that Tesla doesn't pose a threat but offers the luxury arm of General Motors more of classroom experience. The Mercedes story runs like this. Mercedes-Benz USA president and CEO, Steve Cannon, said at the New York Auto Show last week that Tesla has "no network" and only offers "little shops that don't have service capacity." He also said: "Folks are buying a Tesla now because they're kind of cool, but if you're a Tesla buyer, you have to have multiple cars. With Mercedes, you have a whole network. You've got no worries. ... Tesla is great, but you've got plenty of well-established brands that mean luxury, like Porsche or Mercedes-Benz, and how long do you think we're going to wait and let Tesla be out there alone [selling premium electric cars]?" "Treehuggers do not buy new luxury cars" – Uwe Ellinghaus For Cadillac's global chief marketing officer, Uwe Ellinghaus, Tesla's EV success represents little other than "a great opportunity and a learning exercise for all of us, and will help us traditional manufacturers to think twice about electric mobility." He added that, "I am not afraid of Tesla. ... There is no willingness to really sacrifice on the traditional qualities of a luxury car. These are not cars for treehuggers, as treehuggers do not buy new luxury cars." Ellinghaus made the comments during a panel discussion at the 2014 Automotive Forum. Perhaps the lesson of Tesla's offer of free Supercharging to Model S owners is what led to Cadillac to recently announce a deal with Chargepoint that gives ELR drivers access to that company's 16,500 charging stations. Read more details on that below. Cadillac and ChargePoint Bring EV Customer Luxury Driving Experience World's largest, most open electric vehicle charging network available to ELR drivers 2014-04-16 NEW YORK – Cadillac today announced a partnership with ChargePoint, the largest and most open electric vehicle-charging network in the world. The collaboration brings Cadillac ELR drivers immediate access to more than 16,500 charging locations on the ChargePoint network. The ELR electrified luxury coupe went on sale at the end of 2013. It embodies Cadillac's Art & Science design philosophy, combining provocative design with progressive technology.

Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.

Xcar drives the Mercedes-AMG C63 S

Wed, Mar 11 2015

The transition among Europe's high performance vehicles from naturally aspirated power towards turbocharging has taken time but has shown constant progress. The march seemingly started with hot hatches when models like the Volkswagen GTI quit adding displacement and finally succumbed to forced induction. Now, the change has affected the higher rungs with the latest BMW M3 and possibly even all future Porsche 911s. Of course, the question arises does this shift really matter to the driving experience? Xcar Films aims to find while taking a spirited ride in the new Mercedes-AMG C63 S. One thing is for sure; the switch from the 6.2-liter V8 in favor of the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo doesn't seem to be hurting the Merc's sound. Even with forced induction, the exhaust still emits a very angry grumble. Find out from Xcar if the rest of the new engine's attributes stack up quite so well, though. Related Video:
