19" AMG Wheels, Lorinser Exhaust, Factory Nav

Super Well Maintained CL Big Body finished in
ULTRA RARE Alexandrite Green!

Here is a beautiful 1997 Mercedes-Benz CL600 Coupe. This car is very special in several ways. This car is a very low production vehicle with only 985 built and only 348 sold in the US market in 1997. It also had a MSRP of over $140,000 when new and is fully loaded! This was THE big boy car to own in the mid 90's!

This car was delivered brand new to Mercedes Benz North America on March 3rd, 1997 as a corporate vehicle. Mercedes owned the car until January 29th, 1998 when it was sold to its first private owner with about 10,000 miles. The car remained in the Atlanta area with all of its services being performed at Atlanta Classics up until May of 2002 when it had about 60,000 miles. The car then came to Los Angles around that point where it was owned and serviced by its most recent owner at Fletcher Jones and Caliber Mercedes and shows service there up to its most recent service at 126,400. He took extensive care of the car and always garaged it. This car was his pride and joy and always received the best care and service. Don't miss your chance to own the nicest CL600 offered on eBay in a long time!

The following is a list of options as this 600 is currently equipped:

-6.0L 389hp V12 Engine
-4 Speed Automatic Transmission
-Ice Cold A/C
-Factory Self Leveling Xenon Headlamps
-Posi-Traction Rear End
-Cruise Control
-Power Windows-Power Door Locks
-Power Antenna-Heated Seats
-Keyless Entry
-Fog Lamps
-Dual Automatic Climate Control
-Hydraulic Suspension
-Original Leather Interior
-Alcantara Suede Headliner
-Power Sunroof
-Power Seatbelt Arms
-Becker Mercedes Premium CD
-Genuine AMG 19" Wheels
-Lorinser Sport Exhaust
-ETC......

The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well maintained. The paint on the car is finished in its ULTRA RARE original color of Code 891 Alexanderite Green and is in very good condition. This car is just a handful of these cars built in this special order, extra cost color. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock with no rust as any well cared for, garaged car should be. All chrome trim, glass (original windshield), and rubber seals are in great shape. The car looks almost as nice as the day it rolled off the Mercedes lot. It just had a full detail done at a cost of over $500 so this car looks spectacular! The car has also had a nice new shade of privacy tint installed!

The car is riding on gorgeous 19" AMG Monoblock chrome wheels in great condition with only a few spots of minor curb rash. The wheels are wrapped in brand new Hankook Evo Z Rated performance tires.

The interior is in very nice original condition all around. The dash and door panels are in very nice condition with zero cracks or damage to be noted anywhere. The tan leather seats are all in very good condition and look almost new, which shows the quality of leather used in this car. All wood grain is in excellent condition with very few minor flaws. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The car also includes a brand new set of genuine Mercedes mats. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the upgraded Becker/Bose CD sound system. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, tools, and the original spare tire and wheel. This car is all there and in excellent shape with all functions and accessories working as they should.

Mechanically, this 600 runs GREAT! I have owned nearly 20 80's and 90's era Mercedes vehicles, and this car blows the doors off all of them! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. These cars are known to be expensive to maintain, but this car has excellent service history, so you know it has been well cared for. The 6.0L V12 has been Mercedes flagship engine for over 20 years, so you know it is just plain reliable. The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph, and is claimed to have a top speed of 180 MPH with the limiter disabled! The car was always regularly serviced every 4,000 miles and shows it in how flawless the car drives. The car will include 1 switchblade key/remote, tools, spare tire, and owners manuals w/ service receipts. Recent repairs and service include all new motor and transmission mounts, oil leak repairs, new power steering pump, new rear window regulators, and a fresh oil service.

All in all, this is THE cleanest and nicest CL600 that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This Mercedes is a fantastic car for the price and includes every option offered in this car. It also has a clean Arizona title, confirming Actual Mileage. Any further questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.

Good luck in the bidding!

Recharge Wrap-up: Mercedes gets F1 efficiency, EV charging in Vermont, VW e-Golf to use Bosch

Mon, Jul 14 2014

Efficiency equals performance, especially in the case of Formula 1 racing. The Mercedes AMC Petronas team points to several key efficiency technologies it uses to get the most out of its cars. And if their utter dominance so far this season is testament to this relationship, perhaps we should pay attention. Mercedes highlights hybrid tech, turbocharging, aerodynamics, lightweight construction, tribology (both in making internal components and lubricants more slippery) and simulation as crucial to getting around the track faster than anyone else. These just happen to be some of the same things that make the cars we drive on public roads more fuel-efficient. Learn more in the press release below. It's a good read. Brammo, maker of sweet electric motorcycles, is teaming up with TEAM Industries to make drivetrains for electric vehicles. TEAM, which specializes in drivetrain technology, will also become an investor in Brammo as part of the partnership. "The electric vehicle market is a growth market," says TEAM CEO and President David Ricke, "and TEAM and Brammo will be providing a wide range of solutions for OEM manufacturers." Read more over at EV World. Vermont celebrated the installation of a new EV charging station as part of a Green Energy Corridor between Boston and Montreal. When finished, drivers will be able to make the whole trip in an EV with access to charging along the way. For $5, customers can charge their vehicle in about 30 minutes at the Red Hen Baking Company in Middlesex. There are currently only about 700 EVs on the road in Vermont. The state has a goal to get 90 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2050, and getting more EVs on the road is crucial to that mission. Vermont hopes that expanding the charging infrastructure will convince more people to go electric. Read more at Vermont Public Radio's website. For it's new e-Golf, Volkswagen will use Bosch chargers for home installation and ChargePoint stations at its dealerships. Bosch will have various 240-volt options for the home, and will also provide installation. e-Golf customers will also get a free ChargePoint membership, and will have access to the company's network of charging stations worldwide. The 2015 e-Golf goes on sale in the US later this year. Read more in the press release below. Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.

Race Recap: 2013 Japanese Grand Prix flips several scripts [spoilers]

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Japan's Suzuka circuit is a great track that all the drivers love, but it doesn't usually provide the most thrilling, head-to-head racing. Where it does excel, however, is with surprises and "What just happened there?!" moments, and this year it was no different.
It started with Mark Webber in his Infiniti Red Bull Racing out-qualifying his teammate Sebastian Vettel for the first time this year. They were followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the still-solid Romain Grosjean again outdoing teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Felipe Massa racing for another seat in Formula One and putting his Ferrari in fifth, then Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and Räikkönen continuing to do himself no favors by qualifying tenth.
For the second year in a row, the lights going out was the cue to start the first corner action...
