2010 Mercedes-Benz C300

This auction is for a 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300 sedan.  It is offered for sale by a private seller in Charleston, West Virginia.  Please read the entire description and feel free to ask any specific questions you may have, I'm happy to take calls and emails at any time.  I have listed this vehicle for my friend as he does not do the eBay thing.  I've started the bidding at a low price so everyone has a chance to get in and the reserve is extremely reasonable.  Thanks for looking and enjoy the auction.

Every car has a story and this one is somewhat interesting.  This car was purchased from Mercedes-Benz in Bethesda, MD (Euro Motorcars, Inc.) by Enterprise Rent-A-Car on 08/16/2010.  It was sent directly to Smith Company Motorcars (Factory MB Dealer)in Charleston, WV to be used as one of four loaner vehicles out of their service department.  It lived there until 04/17/2012 where it accumulated 30, 595 miles.  While it was there it was serviced regularly and detailed thoroughly more than one can imagine.  Simply put, this car was held and cared for its entire life by a factory Mercedes dealer.  Or at least the first 30,000 miles.  In 07/2012 the car was sold by Enterprise to a local pre-owned dealer (the current owner's son) and has been in his care and custody since.  Other than regular maintenance the current owner has installed a new set of Continental tires which have approximately 95% tread remaining.  Please note the inspection sticker picture and the odometer picture.  You'll notice the current owner drove approximately 1,300 miles in just under a year.  Which brings me to the reason it is currently for sale.  It's spring and this car has a roof.  If you're going to drive something as few miles a year as he does you might as well do it with the top down.  In other words, he's replacing this one with a convertible.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

EXTERIOR

This car's white paint is as glossy as it was the day it rolled off the assembly floor.  As I stated earlier, the entire vehicle was cared for by a factory MB dealer its entire life, including the regular detailing.  There are no rock chips, scuffs, scratches or abrasions of any type anywhere on the body.  The glass is all original and in perfect condition.  The wheels are in excellent shape with one slight blemish on the rear driver side (see picture).

INTERIOR

The interior is in perfect condition as well.  The rear seats appear as if they were never sat in.  Remember, this car was loaned for a day or so to a MB client who more than likely drove it to work and home while awaiting their MB to be serviced.  So, probably not a lot of in and out for the rear seats or even the passenger seat for that matter.  No scuffs or scratches here either.  All controls are functional and operational.  Everything is as it should be.

ENGINE / TRANSMISSION

The engine and transmission are in like new condition.  The car starts, runs and drives as it should.  With this kind of mileage and service history you are not going to experience any problems here.

WHEELS / TIRES

The wheels and tires are exactly as nice as they appear in the pictures.  There is one blemish, as noted above and in the pictures, on the rear driver wheel.  The tires are near new with approximately 95% tread wear remaining.

That's about all I can say for the car.  I wish there were more to tell you but it's just that nice.  There's nothing to document damage wise on the car.  I have a CARFAX in hand and am willing to email it to anyone who wants a copy.  Again, please feel free to call or email with any questions whatsoever.

THE DETAILS

Please review the entire listing before bidding.  Please ask any and all questions before bidding.  Please have payment and or financing arranged before bidding.  No trades are accepted.  An initial deposit is not required but immediate communication is.  We can hold the car until you make arrangements to pick it up but not long term.  We're looking to conduct a smooth transaction where both parties are satisfied.  Rest assured, should you get here and the car is not as described, you don't own it, we'll cancel the transaction.  I'm willing to work with anyone on any aspect of the purchase, just ask before so we can get it worked out quick and smooth, my time is limited.  Thank you for your time and interest.  Good luck.

PLEASE DIRECT ALL INQUIRIES TO: JOHN @ 304-444-6907 OR HIT THE ASK A QUESTION TAB AT THE TOP OF THE LISTING.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

2014 Mercedes SL and SLK add small expansion to Takata airbag recall

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to be affected by Takata's massive airbag recall. The company has announced a voluntary recall campaign on a small number of model-year 2014 SLK- and SL-Class roadsters.
In Mercedes' case, 300 vehicles are affected, 200 of which are in the hands of customers. According to spokesperson Donna Boland, the affected roadsters were built between March and April of this year.
The issue, which is apparently the fault of one of Takata's subcontractors, rests with some improperly installed fasteners, which could keep the airbag from performing the way it's supposed to. According to Boland, Mercedes isn't sure what, if any, injuries the recalled airbags could cause, but simply claims there's an increased risk in these particular vehicles. There's been no reported instances of the faulty airbags deploying on a customer and the original issue was found in a production test.

Recharge Wrap-up: 2015 Honda CR-Z now on sale, Daimler and Linde building hydrogen stations in Germany

Fri, Oct 10 2014

The 2015 Honda CR-Z hybrid is now available at dealerships, for slightly more money. The CR-Z starts at an MSRP of $20,145 (plus $790 in destination charges), up from the $19,995 price of the 2014 model. For those who don't want to row their own gears with the six-speed manual transmission, the available CVT adds an extra $650 to the price, but also offers better fuel economy, especially in the city. The manual-equipped CR-Z gets 31 mpg city/38 highway/34 combined, while the CVT version is rated at 36/39/37 mpg. The 1.5-liter engine and electric motor provide a combined peak 130 horsepower. The manual CR-Z offers 140 pound-feet of torque, with the CVT version providing 127 pound-feet. Customers can also soup up their new CR-Z with upgrades (including a supercharger) from Honda Performance Development. Learn more in the press release below. Daimler and Linde are teaming up to build hydrogen fueling stations in Germany. The automaker and gases and engineering company, with the help of a few oil and gas companies, plan to install 13 new stations by the end of 2015. The installations precede a push by Daimler to get more fuel cell vehicles on the road. "From 2017, we are planning to bring competitively priced fuel-cell vehicles to market," says Daimler's Herbert Kohler. "So now is the time to build a nationwide fuelling infrastructure." Linde will supply the stations with fully renewable hydrogen. Read more in the press release below. In 1899, an EV set a world landspeed record, and Wired has revisited the story with a nice look back at the "La Jamais Contente" and its driver, Belgian engineer Camille Jenatzy. Jenatzy built an electric car to race in a hillclimb, which he won while clocking a top speed of 17 miles per hour (measured the old-timey way - without radar guns). Just a few weeks later, another man set a landspeed record of 32 miles per hour, beginning a back-and-forth series of setting new records. Then, on April 29, 1899, "The Red Devil," as Jenatzy became known as, surpassed 100 kph (62 mph) when his torpedo-shaped electric car set a record of 65.8 mph. It was powered by two 25-kilowatt electric motors. Read the whole story over at Wired.
