2006 Mercedes-benz C230 Sport Sedan 4-door 2.5l - 2 Owner on 2040-cars
East Meadow, New York, United States
2006 Mercedes C230 Sport - 75,389 CarFax Documented 2 Owner Car NY State residents please know your limitations when bidding on this vehicle. No accidents reported to CarFax. Black on black - this vehicle runs and drives 100%. AC is ice cold. Excellent brakes. 3 good tires. One tire is a little weak, but the full size 17" spare tire is excellent and can go right onto the right rear. Everything else for safety inspection is fine. This car is going to the highest bidder. No Reserve! No Buy It Now! This vehicle has a lot of life left in it and is fundamentally sound. No noises, leaks, smoking, misfire or slippage. It does however have some minor issues. First off, the Check Engine light is on. This makes it ineligible for any NY State resident to purchase - please read below. Front bumper was bumped, thus damaging the "ambient air temperature switch" - that is what tripped the Check Engine light. We replaced it but the light comes back for the same code. My mechanic does not "speak" Mercedes very well, so it's selling As Is. The driver rear passenger door has sideswipe damage - very light but evident. The quarter panel was slightly scraped. Driver door is straight but missing the molding. Passenger front seat has some minor leather damage (as pictured). The hood release pin came out of the red handle. To open the hood you need pliers to pull on the pin. The secondary hood release plastic pull tab in the grill is functional, but the tip of it is broken off. The car was sitting for a while and kind of smells bad. A good detailing should take care of that. When replacing the wiper blades they would not go back down to the resting position. Bid with confidence and drive it home. New York
residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a
registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are
using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY
State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe
off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My
cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this
strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected.
There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3
are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further
clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t
pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. Sorry, I
don’t make the rules but as a used car dealer I must abide by them. Any questions call 516-228-1016 and leave a message if I’m not in.
Please don’t wait until the last day or last few hours to contact me. Please
speak clearly. I will pick you up at the airport, train or bus station.
Winning bidder please
leave a $300.00 non-refundable deposit in PayPal within 48 hours of the auction
close. If I don't receive the deposit within the 48 hours I will re-list the
car.
Please plan on picking this vehicle up within 15 days of the auction
close unless you have made prior arrangements with me before bidding.
All vehicles that run and drive are driven at least 10 to 20 miles
and usually 30 to 40 miles. I try to describe these vehicles to the best of my
35 years of experience. Our familiarity with these autos is limited to the miles
we drive them. Please be aware of this when bidding.
As always, if the winning bidder is not happy after road test and examination, I will cancel the sale and
refund $250.00 of your deposit.
Attention “Phantom/No-Show” bidders – I do not entertain any second
place bids and always re-list the vehicle. If your feedback is 1 or lower you must contact me prior to bidding.
If you don’t contact me your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from
further bidding.
Final sale price is what you pay! (New York residents must pay sales
tax and inspection fee when applicable.) There are no extra hidden fees!!!
We will accept any and all trade-ins or will visit you to purchase
any vehicle outright within a 50 mile radius of zip code 11554.
Good luck and thanks for looking! On Apr-29-14 at 05:37:00 PDT, seller added the following information: This car goes to the highest bidder!!! Someone is going to buy a fine low mileage Mercedes Benz really cheap!!! Don't lose this car! I am selling it regardless of price. Wholesale value is $7,600.00 and the retail is over $10,000.00. If you are not happy after you examine and road test the car I will cancel the sale and refund your deposit! (Check my ratings!) |

Smart will go electric-only in United States and Canada
Tue, Feb 14 2017By 2018, the Smart car brand will be only known as an electric vehicle manufacturer in the US. According to Automotive News, sales of gasoline-powered Smart cars will cease later this year, and Daimler will develop the product portfolio into a solely electrified one. This coincides with the upcoming launch of the new generation Smart ForTwo electric drive models this summer. Automotive News claims to have obtained a letter from Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Dietmar Exler sent to US dealers. In it, he underlines the decision to go electric-only, saying "developments within the micro-car segment present some challenges for the current Smart product portfolio," and that the change will only affect North American sales. Production of US-destined gasoline-powered Smarts will cease in April, and sales will continue until stock runs out. The current generation has been on sale from 2015, and it hasn't reached the 2014 sales peak of 10.453 units of the previous generation; last year, there were little more than 6.200 Smarts sold in the States. The first electric drive Smarts were unveiled a decade ago, but they became available in the USA five years later, initially via various trial programs, including Car2Go fleets. Related Video:
Buy a V8 Mercedes-Maybach, or splurge for a V12? Oh to have such problems
Thu, Jun 1 2017There's a certain air that surrounds the Maybach badge, and it's not just the scent being pumped out by the ionizer in the car's glovebox. It's the cream of the crop when it comes to German luxury. These cars are filled with an acre's worth of wood and a herd's worth of cows, ensuring your fingers rarely touch materials as pedestrian as plastic. It's as quiet, as smooth, and as imposing as you think it would be. Though the latest model from Mercedes-Maybach, the S550, might have swapped in a V8 and all-wheel drive in place of the V12 at the heart of the S600, no other amenities have been lost in translation. The car's size gives it a certain presence. Staring at the profile shows a wheelbase that spans two counties, necessitating a microphone and speaker setup simply so that the driver can converse with the passenger – and a Maybach will almost always have a passenger. No one buys a Maybach to drive. You buy a Maybach to be driven. No means of transport short of business-class airline seating offers this much space. Sit back, recline the seat, roll up the shades and enjoy your $167,125 cocoon. But you know all of that already. What you really want to know is if $25,000 - the V12-powered S600 starts at $192,225 - is worth it to gain an extra four cylinders, 74 horsepower, and 96 lb-ft of torque. On paper, no, it's not. The two cars have identical performance numbers, and the S550 benefits from Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Even with all-wheel drive, the S550 weighs less than the nose-heavy S600. Fuel economy is, as expected, superior in the S550. It's rated at 16 city, 24 highway and 19 combined as opposed to 13 city, 21 highway, and 16 combined. Visually, the two cars are identical save for a few badges. The V12 badge on the S600 is replaced with a 4Matic badge on the S550, and that's where things start to get murky. When you're spending six figures on a car, decisions become more emotional than practical. $25,000 is a lot of money, but there's a bigger difference between $25,000 and $50,000 than there is between $167,000 and $192,000. As stated, you don't buy these cars to drive. Performance needs to be merely adequate. A smooth, torquey V12 is likely preferable to a hairy-chested V8, refined as it may be. These cars will never touch redline, lest the passengers spill their champagne. Plus, that V12 badge is worth its weight in country club memberships. Driving an S550 is fine until an owner shows up at an event behind an S600.
Mercedes Sprinter updated to take on Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster
Mon, 29 Apr 2013By the end of this year, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be the second-oldest nameplate in its segment here in the States, but with hot new competition waiting in the wings, Mercedes-Benz is giving its hauler a freshened look and more equipment to stave off rivals. The Sprinter was a pioneer in bringing Euro-style delivery vans to North America, and it's inspired others to transplant their Continental offerings, with the all-new Ford Transit and Ram Promaster models launching shortly. It will also continue to do battle with lower-cost traditional competitors like the Chevrolet Express and Ford E-Series.
The big Sprinter will thus get a new look to go with more safety features and available technology. While the information released here technically covers the Euro-spec 2013 Sprinter (which goes on sale in September), the US market is expected to get the new Sprinter for the 2014 model year with many of the same features. Some of this new technology includes a Crosswind Assist feature as standard equipment and the availability of Collision Prevention Assist and Blind Spot Assist as optional safety measures - Mercedes-Benz says that all three are firsts for any van in the world. Also added to the updated Sprinter is a new 1.8-liter supercharged gasoline (or CNG) engine producing 156 horsepower, which will complement the line of diesel engines that carry over and help make the Sprinter the first cargo van to meet the upcoming Euro VI emissions standards. Additionally, a lower ride height is said to improve fuel economy and should improve handling while aiding ingress and egress for both people and cargo.
In terms of styling, the Sprinter's new face also looks more like the current line of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. This includes a more upright grille along with changes to the hood, headlights and bumper that lend it a closer kinship to models like the CLS-Class and the updated E-Class. The Sprinter will offer both halogen and HID headlights, while the latter will get LED running lamps and offer Highbeam Assist. The images shown here only reveal the exterior from front angles, but it looks like few, if any, changes have been made to the rear of the van. Interior upgrades include a thicker steering wheel, a new shift lever and the latest in audio, navigation and entertainment systems. Scroll down for the official press release for the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
