2003 Mercedes-benz C240 Base Sedan 4-door 2.6l - Florida Car - No Rust! on 2040-cars
Pompano Beach, Florida, United States
Very clean 2003 Mercedes Benz C240. It is a 2.6L V6 Engine. Car has 96,175 original miles. (it's being driven almost daily so miles will vary by 25 to 150 miles by the time auction ends) It is spotless inside and out. Have a stack of maintenance records from previous owner that I will supply with the car. I have only had it a few months as I bought it from a co-worker as a third car but now realize I want a Jeep or Convertible. Car drives great, has good tires and brakes. Smooth, strong acceleration and suspension is perfectly tight and smooth. No rattles, rust, or leaks. All lights work on the car, brakes are good, A/C is nice and cold, radio, cd changer, steering wheel controls for radio. This car has, fog lights, a moonroof / sunroof, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, power trunk release, cruise control, power driver seat for up and down. It has Mercedes floor mats, the carpets and seats in excellent shape. I also have 2 sets of keys / remotes. Remote pops the trunk open and all the way up with the push of a button. New hood struts. Clean bright headlights, not yellowed or faded. The only thing that I am aware of that is not working correctly is the center console wood / plastic cover piece that slides forward to hide cup holder / cigarette lighter is stuck or missing. Also dash information display is slightly faded around edges, but everything can still be seen. Cup holder works perfect at the push of a button and then retracts effortlessly. Bought the car from older lady who is a Realtor, seats look like they have never been sat in, no wrinkles or creases, no wear anywhere not even on drivers seat. Steering wheel has no signs of wear either. Car is very solid, drives and shows well. Feel free to come look at it, drive it, or schedule and inspection at a local shop. I have no problem working with you to take it anywhere if you would like to get it inspected if buying without seeing the car. It is a 3rd car for me and I would like a jeep or convertible instead. Thanks and good luck! |

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots.
The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches. Yet the new design adds even more character with bodyside creases similar to the CLS-Class and some elements reminiscent of 2007's F700 Concept, including the massive grille and vertical LED taillights. Other key details include a large panoramic roof and the narrow exhaust outlets, but the large LED-trimmed headlights and the aggressive front fascia are probably the biggest departure from the current design. With these spy shots, we also catch a blurry shot of the interior, but we've seen a practically uncovered look at the new S-Class' cabin back in January.
Overall, the next S-Class sports an expressive and premium new look, but as far as all-new designs go, it's quite conservative - a move no doubt fitting for these lean financial times.
Ford and Mercedes join Renault in French emissions investigation
Thu, Jan 21 2016The French government is investigating certain models from Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Renault because they allegedly produce more nitrogen oxide than the country's pollution rules allow, according to Automotive News, citing a French newspaper. After VW's emissions scandal, French regulators began checking more vehicles for evidence of defeat devices and excessive real-world pollution. According to Automotive News, the Mercedes S350 allegedly showed inconsistent results across these tests, and a Ford C-Max had NOx levels five times over the limit. The Renault Captur crossover, Espace, and an unnamed utility vehicle also had results that were too high. The French testing for this investigation includes an on-road emissions check that's not part of the EU's normal evaluations, which some automakers claim is unfair. "Unofficial on-road testing has varying conditions and can produce significantly different results," a Ford of Europe spokesman told Automotive News. Renault representatives met with French officials on January 18 to explain the situation. The company later submitted a plan to recall 15,800 examples of the diesel Captur, and said it would offer a voluntary software upgrade for about 700,000 other vehicles, according to Automotive News. Representatives from Ford and Mercedes will meet with the government soon, too. Renault's stock price plunged last week after investors heard that French regulators searched three of the automaker's sites as part of the emissions investigation. The stockholders feared an environmental scandal like the one currently embroiling Volkswagen. There's one major difference – as of now, there's no evidence Renault equipped any of the polluting models with defeat devices. Related Video:
Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.
