I have owned this very clean nice and comfortable 2000 Mercedes Benz C280 for about 1 year and a half. It has auto transmission. 6 cylinder, RWD. 195 hp. Constantly driven and maintained regularly.
More pictures are HERE. It now has 99K miles on it. We put about 15K miles on it in the last 1.5 years. There is nothing wrong with the car. Just had the engine valve cover gasket done (a ~$400 job) last month. No leak of any kind. The tie rods was replaced and coolant was flushed in 2012. All belts replaced in early 2012. 2 keys. One of them is the new shiny version and cost me around $300! You can see it in the picture #30. I also include the autocheck report before me and there was no accidents at all. Tires still have plenty of life left. New breaks were put in around 90K miles. Will pass safety inspection without any problems. It has a 6-CD changer in the trunk. Everything original, no modifications. Engine oil changed with Mobile one full synthetic every 5k miles. Sunroof working good. Has the radio code. Front side airbags. dual power seats. no error lights in the dashboard. Exterior paint is in excellent condition. No accidents. Power windows and power door locks work with no problem. Icy cold AC. Powerful engine and solid feeling and comfortable cruising at all speeds with good alignment. over 30 mpg on the highway. very gas efficient. Rear seats can fold down for long stuff. Currently the car is in excellent shape and will drive across America with no problem! Thinking of keeping it for a long time but changed our minds. This car will last a long time without any major maintenance. We are selling the car because we bought a larger minivan for the growing family. Title is clear and no lien and under my name. Please call me at 240 six-eight-one 9567 if interested.
I am also throwing in a nice set of original Mercedes Benz sport wheel for this car. Overall in excellent condition. No bent at all. You can see them in the pictures. I had them on my C280 for about 10k miles and then I put the origianl 15" wheels back on. It should fit most Mercedes Benz cars with 5x112 bolt pattern.
Wheel is 16x7, offset 37 mm
recommended tire size: 205/55/16
NO RESERVE! Highest bidder wins the car. Basically you will get a nice original no problem C280 with a nice set of sport wheels. I can also cancel the auction early if you make a reasonable offer. The closest airport is DCA or IAD. I can pick you up if you wanna fly in and drive back.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots.
The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches. Yet the new design adds even more character with bodyside creases similar to the CLS-Class and some elements reminiscent of 2007's F700 Concept, including the massive grille and vertical LED taillights. Other key details include a large panoramic roof and the narrow exhaust outlets, but the large LED-trimmed headlights and the aggressive front fascia are probably the biggest departure from the current design. With these spy shots, we also catch a blurry shot of the interior, but we've seen a practically uncovered look at the new S-Class' cabin back in January.
Overall, the next S-Class sports an expressive and premium new look, but as far as all-new designs go, it's quite conservative - a move no doubt fitting for these lean financial times.
EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.
McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari call for unfreezing F1 engines
Mon, Dec 29 2014Formula One is a hugely expensive sport. Not only do you have enormous salaries and logistical expenses, as you would in any other sport, but each team also spends huge sums developing their own chassis from the ground up – and so too do the participating automakers in developing the engines. One of the ways the series organizers mitigate those costs is by freezing development. So once the new crop of V6 turbo hybrid powertrains were developed, that was it. But now three of the of the sport's leading teams are calling on the FIA to unfreeze engine development. Their reason? Unfair advantage. There's little question that Mercedes did the best job of developing its "power unit" to meet the new regulations that took effect at the beginning of this past season. That's how the Mercedes team won all but three of the grands prix this season and finished with at least one car on the podium at every single race. It's also a big part of how the teams that bought their engines from Mercedes this season managed to consistently outperform the other non-works-supported teams. That clear advantage is why Red Bull, Ferrari and now McLaren are calling for engine development to be unfrozen. Their argument is that, under the current locked-down status quo, their engine suppliers (Renault, Ferrari and Honda, respectively) cannot possibly catch up. So unless the FIA and Formula One Management want the next few seasons to be the kind of absolute blow-outs that this past season was, these leading teams argue, the powers that be are going to have to make some changes. For its part, Mercedes naturally counters that unfreezing engine development would send costs spiraling out of control. But then of course it stands to lose the most by re-opening engine development. If those three teams, however, closely intertwined as they are with the three other engine suppliers participating in next year's championship, manage to solicit enough support from the other customer teams and bring the matter to a vote, Mercedes may very well find itself out-numbered.
