Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, United States

Selling my Mercedes 600 small wheel base limosine.  Just used in my daughters wedding and it was a show stopper.  Making room for more cars that are on the way.  This is one goreous head turning limo.  Painted with a $30,000 magnificent red formal paint.  Extremely unusual.  Formally grey paint.  Underside as nice as top side.  Hydraulics working.  Air suspension self leveling working, hydraulic sunroof, seats, all windows working as they should.  Privacy Curtains.  Very powerful engine with top speed of 127 mph.  Only 2190 built between 1963 and 1981 making it a very rare automobile.  Most were sold to government officials or movie stars.  Names include Hugh Hefner, Elizabeth Taylor, John Lennon, George Harrison, Aristotle Onassis, Elvis.  Others include Saddam Hussein, Kim Il-sung, Leonid Brezhnev, Kim Johg-Ill, Castro, Tito. Owners also include Popes and  Archbishops.  Used in movies On Her Majesty's Service and Diamonds Are Forever.  Considered one of the finest enginered automobiles ever built.

Included in the sale is a unquie descriptive sign (photo) if you wish to show the car.  These are very special cars with heavy demand in Europe and Middle East.  How many are left is unknown.

I placing a NO RESERVE after the starting bid.  You will know immediately were you stand as you bid.  Also putting the beginning bid substantially below Collector Car 2015 Price Guide of #1 $145,000, NADA $161,000, Hagerty over $181,000.  Hopefully it will sell above wholesale but I need to move it out.  If this is not a #1 car is it very near, chrome near perfect, interior excellent, car operates as it should.  Underside, truck and engine compartment all excellent.  This Mercedes sports new tires and battery.  It certainly has the WOW factor.  I would rate the car a very strong #2 if not #1 minus.  Photos should help demonstrate the quaility of this car.  Selling only to make room in my warehouse for incoming cars.  This is from my personal collection and I must confess  that I don't drive the car enough.  Should you have questions please ask.

The car is listed locally and other sites so I reserve the right to withdrawal it without notice.  The mileage is believed to be actual, but sold exempt because of the age of the car.  No warrantees, sold as and where it is.  Please bid only if you wish to own this find car.  It is on Hilton Head Island, SC and can be inspected by appointment.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior caught in spy shots

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

With the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class getting closer to production, the camera-wielding crew over at Autospies somehow managed to get inside of the car to snap some detailed spy shots. As the prototypes continue to shed camouflage, it would appear that Mercedes-Benz is getting closer to unveiling the car, and with the Geneva and New York auto shows coming up, it could be sooner rather than later.
From what we can see of this car's interior, the overall look of the S-Class' cabin isn't a ground-breaking departure from the current car, but it has been completely redesigned with more advanced technology. The styling is now even more upscale with larger swaths of wood, more shapely door panels (without the built-in armrest cubbies) and the concept-like two-spoke steering wheel. The highlight of this car though is probably the two massive digital screens with one being used for driver information and the other used for navigation, audio and infotainment systems. One other detail we noticed about this car is that it was equipped with the new 360-degree camera that debuted on the new GL-Class and will also be used on the 2014 E-Class. We also know that the next-gen S-Class will be getting the new cloud-based MBrace2 infotainment system.
As for the exterior design, it looks like the next S-Class will carry a similar profile as the current car, but we can see through the camouflage that the new styling will fit in better with current Mercedes-Benz products. Up front, the grille is much larger is flanked by aggressive LED-trimmed headlights, while the rear view of the car shows us the LED brake light now at the top of the rear window, a more pointed trunk opening and a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed to the corners.

Porsche teams with Delta airlines to woo VIP passengers

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

The next time you're waiting for a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, see if you can spot a Porsche Cayenne or Panamera zipping between aircraft on the busy tarmac. The high-performance German vehicles aren't there practicing for an upcoming autocross; they are tasked with whisking some of the airline's most important customers between flights so they can keep their busy schedules intact.
Launched nearly two years ago, the program has proven popular with the automaker, airline and passengers as all benefit from the unique arrangement. Atlanta-based Porsche is able to showcase its cars to Delta's frequent-flying Medallion members, the airline is recognized for providing unusual perks to its high-value customers and those fortunate enough to be surprised with a quick lift are able to make connections without a stressful run through the terminal. Based on its success, the airline is rolling our similar programs in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis this month.
And don't think Porsche is the only automaker working with an airline to entice its frequent flyers. Mercedes-Benz ran a program over the summer that offered purchasing and leasing incentives to MileagePlus Premier members of United Airlines, and the two are currently shuttling top fliers around Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the automaker's S-Class and GL-Class models.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton buys LaFerrari

Tue, Mar 24 2015

Lewis Hamilton has driven some of the fastest cars ever devised, like the McLaren MP4-23 with which he won the 2008 Formula One World Championship, the Mercedes W05 with which he won the title last year, and the new W06 he drove to the checkered flag in the season opener earlier this month. But what does he drive in his spare time? According to the latest reports quoting his boss Toto Wolff, the reigning champ celebrated his win at the Australian Grand Prix by ordering a new LaFerrari. The seven-figure, 950-horsepower hybrid hypercar may be made by a rival manufacturer to the team for which he drives, but then his employers at Mercedes don't (for the time being at least) build anything that competes in the segment – unlike his former employers at McLaren that offer the similarly potent P1. Something tells us he won't be invited to drive it at Fiorano, though - which is something his rivals Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel have all had the chance to do. Hamilton has a long-established penchant for driving twelve-cylinder exotic supercars in his spare time. At his previous place of work, he was promised an exceedingly rare McLaren F1 LM – valued at some $4 million – but only if he won three world titles for the Woking-based team. He also owns a Pagani Zonda that was made specifically for him with a 760-horsepower engine (supplied, naturally, by Mercedes) and a six-speed manual – complete with a clutch pedal, which (apart from starting off the line) is something he doesn't usually get to operate during working hours.
