Porsche Built Super Sedan on 2040-cars
Dublin, California, United States
Hi, selling my beloved 500e . a rare car that was handbuilt by Porsche . she runs fantastic with no issues whatsoever ! . a brand new transmission was installed together with a new torque converter and flex disc at 169k miles by AutoBahn Motors in Belmont . a new wiring harness replaced at 179k by John's European shortly after the chain tensioner and power steering pump replaced . prior to these engine control module .ignition coil tie rod ends also where replaced . the car also received a big brake kit from a MB S55 which consist of a 8 piston front caliper and 4 piston rears with matching cross drilled rotors and stainless steel brake lines all around . a Berg Werks first gear start module installed. RennTech full suspension kit with rear adjustable toe & camber together with a set of Koni fully adjustable shocks.she currently has a set of H&R springs all the way around ( i think they ride better than the renntech) .wheels are staggered Brabus with new Kumho tires 245s front and 275s rears with H&R 12mm aluminum wheel spacers . a brand new windshield was installed because the originals where too pitted and developed a small crack . As you can see , she is not perfect cosmetically as seen on the pix . more than a few stone chips below the headlight and spoiler and wear in the driver side seat bolster and headliner . Cd player is non functional but everything else works! including AC ! a few small scratches along the door pillars .I believe the hood have been painted at some point in time . really hate to part with her but I am moving my family far far away and import taxes and duties are just ridiculous and very expensive ! I will also include the stock airbox replaced by a Renntech carbon fiber intake and Eisennman mufflers out back . also part of the sale is a brand new pair of euro headlights and the stock amber park/turn light lense . Have clean title and all maintenance and build receipts . Will not be responsible for any shipping arrangements. Buyer must arrange all shipping requirements. |

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 teases gullwing doors in video
Tue, Aug 16 2016Because these are the times we live in, automakers tease their biggest and best debuts mercilessly before finally dropping the curtain. That's why we're writing about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept again. Here's a new video, posted on Mercedes' Instagram page, showing even more of the hulking two-door coupe. For one, it looks like Mercedes is revisiting gullwing doors. There's a brief snippet of the doors in the open position with a red light – possibly a brake light – bisecting the roof. The video also gives us a couple of good looks at the taillights, which are super-model skinny, just like the lamps up front. Look close at the rear three-quarter cut, and you'll spot a strong chrome strip that accentuates and breaks up those beefy rear haunches. It's hard to tell where they fit in with the chrome strips on the front fenders and hood, so we'll probably need to wait until the big debut to see how it all works out. As we've said twice already, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 debuts on August 18. Stay tuned. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
Top 10 small cars with the longest total driving range
Thu, Mar 19 2015Editor's Note: Since this article was originally posted in the spring of 2015, much has changed in the automotive landscape, especially among those shopping for small car economy. With thanks to Volkswagen for their blatant cheating – and subsequent cover-up – on diesel emissions, the largest player in the diesel passenger car segment isn't playing – they're paying; billions are going for both car buybacks and federally-imposed penalties. And for a few VW execs there exists the very real possibility of jail. With the absence of a big player and the abrupt entrance – via Chevy's new Bolt – of an affordable EV with 200+ miles of range, we've limited the diesel listings to Jaguar's new XE. And for those wanting an updated look at efficiency and range, Autoblog has it – or the EPA has it. Long before electric vehicles were part of the mainstream conversation, car lovers and skinflints alike would boast about the total range of their vehicles. There's something about getting farther down the road on one tank of gas that inflames the competitive spirit, almost as much as horsepower output or top speed. Of course, the vehicles with the very best range on today's market are almost all big trucks and SUVs; virtually all have the ability to carry massive reserves of fuel. Top up a standard Chevy Suburban and you can expect to travel almost 700 miles (you'll need to stop before the Suburban stops...), while a diesel-fed Jeep Grand Cherokee manages almost as many. But what about vehicles that are smaller? The EPA has, essentially, three classifications for 'small' vehicles: Minicompact, Subcompact and Compact. All three are measured based on interior volume, meaning that some cars with rather large exterior dimensions and engines slot in next to traditional small cars. But even though impressive GT coupes from Porsche, Bentley and Mercedes-Benz may have much larger gas tanks to feed their powerful engines, that capacity is offset by higher rates of consumption... in most cases. We used the EPA's Fuel Economy Guide for model year 2017 cars as a start, calculating the official highway miles per gallon rating with each vehicle's tank capacity. The resulting numbers aren't necessarily real world, but they do offer a spectrum for total theoretical range. The eventual top ten surprised me on a few occasions, and comprised quite a varied list of vehicles. 10.
