This Mercedes Benz was picked up in Germany in 1984 as a brand new European delivery and brought to Arizona by the original owner. He  drove it limited miles for 27 years -although enough to keep everything moving and car in great condition. ZERO RUST-Arizona car that was garaged!

This car is truly in MINT Condition
The color combination as you see in the pictures is striking and the car was re-painted after a minor accident to the front quarter. Replacement of the front right fender and grill were needed and they used all MB part. No frame damage whatsoever.
The interior was likely replaced several years ago, because it still very nice-maybe not original MB, likely GAHH (good company) hides. Here's the best part:
The car drive soooo smooth, if you didn't know it was 28 years old, you may think it were new. Seriously folks, i own several classic cars and several new cars, but this is a smooth and as quite as it gets. The 500SEC is a much nicer ride than the replacement 560, which tends to be too big of an engine for this coupe. The gas mileage is incredible, getting over 25 MPG. This is NOT a black market car but a German spec car brought to America by its original owner. The European 500SEC has a higher compression ratio, therefore a faster and yes a more smooth ride. Everything works, right down to the dome light in the interior roof. The car was picked up in Arizona, driven to California to Escondido Mercedes Benz, where over $5,000 was spent in on a new fuel pump, power steering pump, thermostat and relay switch. New MB master cylinder, brand new (not rebuilt) MB brake calipers in the front. They bled the whole system and replaced all the brake pads, again all MB parts. New brake lines for brake pad sensors, plus harnesses were replaced. Replaced all the rubber hoses that had cracks in them. We have all the receipts.
No- you will not need to spend any money on this baby like most classic car one may purchase-We even had Mr. Dent come in for a full day to remove any tiny dings the car had at a cost of $600. THIS CAR IS INCREDIBLE...
We brought the car back to New England and drove it for a few thousand miles in the summer and fall months and put it away in November in our heated garage. It ready to be brought out now for a good blow out and can be used as a daily driver for many years to come, or use it as a second or third car.
Please give me a call to discuss and further details..

Are future vehicular hacks inevitable?

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Before the hack of the Uconnect system in a Jeep Cherokee resulted in a 1.4-million vehicle recall, the potential software vulnerabilities in vehicles were already a hot topic with Congressional inquiries and even proposed legislation in the US. As cars' interconnected systems gain the ability to go online, they become open to a host of new threats. Automakers are trying to stop this, but it might be too late to put the genie back into the bottle. Throughout 2015, the issue of software security in vehicles has become increasingly vital. For example, the recent Jeep case wasn't even the biggest hack this year. In February, a major flaw was discovered in the BMW Connected Drive service that allowed researchers to remotely lock and unlock the doors and potentially affected 2.2 million cars. The fix was an over-the-air patch for the problem. Automakers are actively working to fix the issues. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi reportedly are using encrypted connections and firewalls in their vehicles to prevent hacking. "Absolute, 100-percent safety isn't possible," Daimler spokesperson Benjamin Oberkersch said to Automotive News Europe. "But we develop our systems, tested by internal and external experts, so they're up to date." These vulnerabilities seem to be popping up more often. A successful hack took $14 in parts from Radio Shack in one case. There was also a 60 Minutes report earlier in the year about DARPA's ability to hack into OnStar to take control of a Chevrolet Impala. Experts aren't so sure companies can contend with hackers' advancement. "The difficulty for the carmakers at the moment is the question whether they can keep pace with advances in technology, and especially hacking technology," Rainer Scholz, executive director for telematics consultant EY, said to Automotive News Europe. "We seriously doubt they can." At this point, vehicle hacks are coming more from researchers looking for holes than from those with malicious intent. Still, the vulnerabilities are definitely there. It's up to automakers to keep patching the problems before they become dangerous to drivers. 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV tops $180,000

Tue, Oct 24 2023

The 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is staking claim to the "next era of driving pleasure," but that pleasure will come at a steep price. The company officially announced Wednesday that the super-lux, battery-electric SUV starts at $181,050 (assuming the $1,150 destination fee doesn't increase for 2024) — $50,000 more than the standard Mercedes-Benz EQS 580. And you can order one starting today.  While U.S. figures are still partially up in the air, we do have some preliminary specs. To go with its 649-horsepower output, the EQS 680 SUV was rated at 600 km of total range on the WLTP cycle, which works out to about 373 miles. While Mercedes-Benz doesn't have EPA figures to offer, the EQS 580 is rated at approximately 340 miles with the same pack and a very similar (613 km) WLTP-certified range. 0-60 comes in just 4.1 seconds on the way to a top speed of 130 MPH. Charging the EQS 680 SUV back up from 0% will take a bit longer — nearly 13 hours on a Level II AC charger — but DC fast charging (10-80%) takes just 31 minutes at its max throughput rate of 200 kW.  The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is available with five different two-tone color combinations. All of the two-tone options will feature the lighter color on the bottom half of the SUV, since the darker tone up top better accentuates the vehicleÂ’s aerodynamics. Maybach-specific design details include vertical metal-look lines in the EQSÂ’ faux grille and a Mercedes-Benz star ornament on the hood.  ThereÂ’s a Maybach logo on the D-pillar and the taillights have a unique running light pattern. Mercedes-Benz says 21-inch wheels are standard for now; larger 22-inch wheels, as well as a sixth two-tone paint option, will come later. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
