Rare AMG  560 SEC, 1987  very few were even made and lucky to make it here in the USA .    New this car was 110 thousand dollars .   Has a few very rare options , as  built in PC  in the dash, witch you can do a lot with,  sets up miles, gas used , miles gone so far , sets up a heater that is in the engine bay to pre-heat the  engine .  Also has a sport and regular switch for the trans.   this is a full Euro car and its all in German, has a different vin. number   witch is   [  WDB1260451A275194  ] .  The speed-O is in KLMs and reads at 64,000 , so do the math and shows its a low mile car .  Always in the garage  and gets a lot of looks any where I go .  does  have a few up grades , CD player system ,  SS exhaust  and cross drilled rotors  .   very dark blue , almost looks black with dark blue interior . Wheels were restored and has Z rated tires .  headlights have way to adjust the tilt and up front are real glass .  Runs and drives great, easy 350 HP .  Hood and deck lid is made from a type of plastic, so its light weight too .  Had this for years and took a long time to find one , my collection  has all  T-birds  and this car , so  keeping all the Birds for now and selling the AMG .  I did have a new A/C pump put on and was never charged back up , and always did keep any part that came off this car , new owner will get the pump if he wants to go back to complete OEM  engine bay .  my starting price is even lower than what I paid for the car years ago .   could be a one of a kind , so few are out there  . Pick up here or can be shipped by new owner , I can help out in any way, I have shipped a few cars .   Any Q,s .     I understand   Just ask .  you see it , you will want it  .    Thanks .

Mercedes C111 concept in commercial spoof A Fistful of Wolves

Fri, Jan 16 2015

A Fistful of Wolves is a spoof of fashion advertising, commissioned by Mercedes-Benz to spread a cheeky word about Berlin Fashion Week. Yet, in the lampooning of sartorial gobbledygook, plenty of automotive advertising gets doused with cold water, too - like the ads that subscribe to the importance of being earnest (looking at you Matthew McConaughey and Kate Walsh), or the ones that try to convey just how unimaginably cool you'll be once you've jumped into the three-year-lease hole (looking at you, um... Mercedes-Benz and every other German luxury brand). We appreciate a brand that can make fun of itself, though. Led by Australian Justin O'Shea driving the Mercedes C111 through Berlin, it's beautiful satire as O'Shea tries to be fashion-forward while his friends go on about their daily lives, wondering why he never seems to be listening until he's offered cake, or why he's trying to walk in slow motion. Check it out in the video above. News Source: Mercedes-Benz via YouTube, Car and Driver Celebrities Humor Marketing/Advertising Mercedes-Benz Coupe Concept Cars Videos spoof

Mercedes-Benz working on S-Class EV in accelerated green car lineup?

Mon, Mar 10 2014

With Mercedes-Benz bringing out coupe and plug-in hybrid versions of its S-Class sedan, the German automaker just may follow through with a battery-electric variant as well. That's what the company's Uwe Ernstberger told the folks at Top Gear during the Geneva Motor Show. And while he noted the company still needs to work in a larger-than-usual battery pack and was less than specific with details, he did envision an all-electric S-Class "in the future." Of course, rumors started bubbling about an EV S-Class as far back as 2011, so we'll see. Christian Bokich, department manager for product and technology communications for Mercedes-Benz USA, would not confirm anything about an electric S-Class, but he did give AutoblogGreen an official rundown of MB's upcoming green cars in the US, starting with the launch of the all-electric B-Class ED in July of this year in the ZEV states (launch details for other states are TBA, he said). An S-Class plug-in hybrid is coming in the first half of 2015, followed by a C-Class PHEV closer towards the end of that year in the USA. There is also a C-Class four-cylinder BlueTEC coming at some point in 2016. Until we get more concrete information about the possible S-Class EV, let's review what we know about the PHEV. Last September, Mercedes-Benz started showing off the plug-in hybrid S-Class, saying that it could go as far as 19 miles on electric power alone and had a preliminary fuel efficiency rating of more than 78 miles per gallon, using the more lenient European driving cycle. Earlier this week, Mercedes showed off its S-Class Coupe. That model's US version will have a twin-turbocharged V8 that kicks in 449 horsepower, a few more than the presumptive S-Class EV will have. Ernstberger also said Mercedes would join the ranks of automakers offering autonomous driving systems and mentioned the S-Class as being at the "top of the movement." He held his tongue when asked about the possibility of an S-Class cabriolet.

New Die Hard movie wrecked 132 cars in $11 million chase scene [w/video]

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

It would seem the act of dying hard brings with it lots of wanton destruction of the four-wheeled kind. According to John Moore, director of A Good Day To Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, There were 132 (cars) that could never be used again. Another 518 required a lot of work. And damn right there were some good cars there... That's the fun of it."
Please join us in one great big collective sigh. Done? Okay, let's continue.
"With Die Hard it's about how audacious the action is," says Moore. "So you have to drive over a Lamborghini. An actual one. And yes it hurts me. I'm a car fanatic." Yeah. Sounds like it hurt really bad... though not as bad as the final tally after all the carnage had been counted: "Someone showed me the numbers on the car chase and soup to nuts, you put it all together it was like an $11 million sequence."
