Hello I am selling my 1988 Mercedes Benz 560Sec. This is a classic car the needs some work. The car has about 143000 miles although odometer stopped working at 142208.I do not have keys to doors or trunk only the ignition. Use as a daily driver or restoration project.Low reserve. Please ask any questions you may haveMotorThe motor of this car runs strong but does need some minor work. The car has a leaking valve cover gaskets that needs to be replaced.The transmission has a small vacuum leak that cause it to hesitate to shift in to first gear from time to time. The driver side front shock needs to be replaced. Drivers side hood release latch under the hood is broke but hood still opensInteriorThe interior of the car is in decent condition. The front two seats are torn (see pics). The heated seats still work. The rear seats have some damage to the top cushions from the sun. The car has a aftermarket CD player installed. All windows work but the switches for the two rear windows need to be replaced. Power seats work.The sunroof is off track but motor still works. The woodgrain on drivers door is missing. ignition switch was replaced about 3 months agoExteriorThe exterior of the car need some body work and paint but still looks good without it. The car has minor dents and scratches. The paint is faded on the passenger side fender and two light spots on the drivers side door (see pics). There is a rust spot above rear drivers side fender (see pics). Chrome trim on drivers side door is loose.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome
Tue, 24 Sep 2013This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." 2014 Mercedes SL and SLK add small expansion to Takata airbag recall
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to be affected by Takata's massive airbag recall. The company has announced a voluntary recall campaign on a small number of model-year 2014 SLK- and SL-Class roadsters.
In Mercedes' case, 300 vehicles are affected, 200 of which are in the hands of customers. According to spokesperson Donna Boland, the affected roadsters were built between March and April of this year.
The issue, which is apparently the fault of one of Takata's subcontractors, rests with some improperly installed fasteners, which could keep the airbag from performing the way it's supposed to. According to Boland, Mercedes isn't sure what, if any, injuries the recalled airbags could cause, but simply claims there's an increased risk in these particular vehicles. There's been no reported instances of the faulty airbags deploying on a customer and the original issue was found in a production test.
